Memorial Day: Celebrated on
May 8th, this day is a memorial for the war dead of other nations. A more subdued holiday than many other celebrated on the island, it is in many ways a celebration of Manta Carlos's peaceful nature. While officially focused on those who died in wars, many take the day to visit graveyards and celebrate all those who have passed.
Lilac Music Festival: Celebrated on the
third weekend of May, this is an island-only holiday celebrating the blooming of the lilacs which line many city streets. The Lilac Music Festival is primarily a large street festival, featuring aparade, food vendors, and a large musical event.
Lilac Music Festival: The Lilac Festival ICC event will take place from May 17, 2019 at 10:00am to May 19, 2019 at 9:00pm. It will take place in Oceania Park, with a concert playing in the background and vendors around for food and band merchandise.
