Lydia "Bunny" Sinclair
"I really need to tell you..."
26 | April 2nd | Female | Heterosexual | Human | Teacher | Horseback Riding Instructor
APPEARANCE
Lydia is a shapeshifter, so really she can take any human shape she desires. However, she does have two looks she prefers the most: one being 'Lydia'--how she presents herself to most people, and the other--"Bunny"--her alter ego when she is working at Club Gambit.

Lydia is a cute red-headed cowgirl with blue eyes and freckles on her cheeks. She is 5'2" with a small frame. She loves to dress like a cowgirl, and is rarely seen without her cowboy hat and boots. She also has a thick Texas drawl. While she is attractive, she doesn't stand out too much in a crowd--especially in a place like Starlight Academy!
Then there's Bunny.

If her look as Lydia is 'cute', then Bunny is hot. As cliche as it may be, Lydia could easily be considered one of those girls that other girls want to be and who guys want to be with. She has a perfect hourglass figure: large chest, small waist, curvy hips. She's also taller: standing at 5'7". Her hair is very long and a flashy hot pink. While Lydia is unassuming and doesn't draw too much attention to herself, Bunny's appearance alone demands attention. Her favorite outfits to wear at Club Gambit are sexy, but with a hint of 'cuteness' as well. She is especially partial to ruffles and hearts. She often wears bunny ears when she is working--hence the nickname 'Bunny'. She also taught herself to not speak in her Texan accent when she's Bunny.
She will occasionally play around with different looks, but the cutie cowgirl and the sexy club babe are her two main forms.
Lydia has long forgotten her "true" form, aka the appearance she was born with. All she remembers is that it wasn't attractive enough for her, so why stay that way when she could totally change herself?

PERSONALITY
While her appearance may change often, her personality remains pretty consistent: she's nice, bubbly, and a bit of an air-head.
Admittedly she can be a little shallow: appearance is extremely important to her. When she shapeshifts, she always makes herself attractive--unless she has a really good reason to do otherwise. Lydia LOVES to play with her hair, and with makeup techniques. "It's like art for your body!", as she would say. She doesn't strictly think about herself in this regard--she loves to help others look their best.
Don't be too fooled by the air-headed behavior and shallowness, however: she is smarter than people give her credit for. She knows how to take care of herself, and is clever enough to get out of bad situations. Plus, she knows how to use a gun. Definitely not a damsel in distress. Lydia very rarely gets angry, but if she does, she takes a very passive-aggressive approach of dealing with people--she will utterly put you down with a big smile on her face and a sing-song voice.
Lydia has always had a wavering sense of self-esteem despite acting confident--which sometimes prevents her from doing the things she wants to do. For example, she is very interested in fashion--not just following current trends, but in designing as well. She even has a sketch book full of her own unique designs, but refuses to show them to anyone. Whenever she thinks about pursuing it further, she talks herself out of it--convinced that she isn't good enough and it will be too hard for her.
Ultimately, Lydia is a sweetheart that just likes to make people happy, despite her own confidence issues. She loves working with the kids and teens at Starlight Academy, and has a passion for horses, but also loves being an entertainer at Club Gambit. She is the most popular girl at the club, which unfortunately means that many of her coworkers are jealous of her. She has very few friends within the club, other than her boss Yura. Lydia wishes she could be friends with all her coworkers, but any attempt to socialize usually flopped miserably--which doesn't help her self-esteem.

POWERS
Shapeshifter: She only has the capacity to shapeshift into other human forms, so she cannot become an animal, grow wings, etc. But she can stay in any of her forms for as long as she likes.
If she changes her appearance too many times in one day (around 5-6 times), it can lead to exhaustion, so she has to be careful.
Illusions: While she can't change her appearance to anything non-human, she can create the illusion of it. For example, she could make herself appear to have wings, but they would not actually be functional.
She can also create illusions separate from her body: she can make someone see people who aren't there or even make them think they're in an entirely different location.
If the illusions are touched, then they vanish. The illusions are not fully physical, so they cannot be used to harm anyone: only as temporary trickery. The more elaborate the illusions--such as making someone in the middle of a city suddenly think they're at a beach--the more energy they require.

HISTORY
Lydia was born Annie Sothby to a well-to-do southern family just outside of Corpus Christi, Texas. Her family owned a wealthy gentleman's farm, and Lydia always loved the 'rancher' lifestyle.
Lydia discovered her shapeshifting power at a young age. Having low self-esteem as a little girl, she would often stare at herself in the mirror and wish she looked different...then one day, it actually happened! She kept her powers a secret for a few years, but ultimately she wanted to change her appearance permanently, so she had no choice but to reveal it to her family. Her parents were a bit baffled, but accepted their daughter for who she was. Her brother, Darren, on the other hand became hostile toward her.
Lydia was sent to Starlight Academy to help her learn more about her powers. When she turned 17, she received devastating news: her parents had been murdered. She suspected that her brother had done it, or perhaps hired someone to do it, in order to get his inheritance. There was no proof, however. So, her brother not only received the inheritance, but somehow managed to lock Lydia out from getting any of her family's money entirely.
Utterly distraught over the death of her parents, Lydia dropped out of Starlight Academy. She remained homeless in Manta Carlos City until Yura, the owner of Club Gambit, took sympathy on the girl and allowed her to stay in her apartment. From that point on, Lydia completely abandoned her identity as "Annie Sothby" and started using the name and appearance of "Lydia Sinclair". When she turned 18, she began working at Club Gambit, which gave birth to her other identity, "Bunny".
Just recently, Lydia had heard that Starlight Academy was looking for a horseback riding instructor. She dearly missed working with horses, so she decided to jump on the opportunity. Of course, she kept her identity a secret: nobody at the school has any idea that she was one a mousy little girl named Annie, nor do they know that she also works at Club Gambit. Yura is the only one who knows about Lydia's ability and double-identity. Even though the two jobs aren't exactly...comparable, she would be devastated to lose either of them.
Lydia has considered going back to school, but has not made a commitment to do so as of yet. Nor is she entirely sure what she would study, even if she did. Besides, she would need to get a GPA before she could even consider a track in college.
For now, she is sure she is safe from her brother...but always keeps a pistol hidden on her, just in case.
—
Or maybe she was never so safe from her brother. After a number of threatening texts and letters, it was clear that her brother had found her.
Lydia left the island and was gone for nearly two years in order to prevent her brother from going to Manta Carlos and terrorizing her friends. In that time she eventually had to confront her brother, and he left her in a position of kill or be killed. She shot him.
Sure that he was dead, Lydia quickly headed back to Manta Carlos--where she now is picking up the pieces of the life she temporarily had to leave behind.
