Yariel looked towards the man with a confused and slightly shocked stare. He - couldn't be actually telling the truth, right? How could any of that even be actually real, it's absurd! She wondered if the man perhaps was telling some sort of joke, but his face was easy enough to read that he was down right serious. Yariel finally gave a look around her with more dedicated perception than before, and began to notice the insanity surrounding her.

She gave a weak clutch at her stomach before sprinting off - no real destination in mind. Anywhere from here was the best option, she felt, and yet she had no idea how to navigate the academy grounds, and soon found herself lost within them. Yariel hadn't a clue where she was at this point, and honestly wasn't sure how much she cared. She hadn't signed up for this - heck, she hadn't even signed up willingly in the first place.

Curling up into a corner, and weeping ever so slightly, Yariel had a small breakdown. She was hoping with all her heart that this was some crazy dream she was having the night of the trip, and that she would wake up in some bunk somewhere. Yet no matter how hard she closed those eye lids, no relief came.

It went more or less without saying that Ophion wasn't expecting her to run off. For the most part people were given a letter that outlined the jist of things, and while Ophion knew that some people arrived through other methods without knowing the nature of the island... well, he didn't think he'd be dealing with one directly.

She was around the corner before he could even think of chasing her, and he paused for a second before deciding that he couldn't just let her run off on her own.

Unfortunately, Ophion was far from fit, and she easily outpaced him. Three hallways later he wasn't even sure which way she'd gone, and was forced to resort to emergency measures.

Preparing himself for all sorts of grossness, Ophion licked the air, running his tongue over the roof of his mouth. People were outstandingly gross, and he screwed up his face in an expression of pure disgust as he tasted the air. Even so, he could sort of follow along, trailing along where she'd gone.

More than once he was forced to backtrack, asking people if they'd seen someone, and wondering if it wouldn't have been better to give up already.

And in the end, when he finally found her curled up in a corner sobbing... then what? He'd rushed to follow her with no actual plan for what to do when he found her. All he could do was stand there trying to catch his breath, trying to come up with something to say to make it better.

"Sorry if - If I upset you."
