Sela always felt more comfortable at night. They blended in better against a sky with little to no light pollution. The school and city were no exceptions. This island managed to make the light pollution nonexistent, allowing the stars to be strikingly vibrant. Though there was no reason for Sela to hide. They weren't here to hunt, and they couldn't if they wanted to. What they wanted to do was relax outside of their cramped dorm room.

They sat themself in the grass of the courtyard, then simplified their face. The result was their eyebrows, eyes, and mouth disappearing, leaving a mostly black face, other than tears still streaming down from where their eyes would usually have been. People have described it as creepy, but it was better than the apparently creepier look of someone staring off at nothing, almost frozen in place. All they wanted to do was meditate and take in the dreams and almost-sleeping imaginations of people in their dorms. With Lycia's dream world, dreams here were almost always appetizing.

Although the food here was reasonable, there were times she just had to graze (it was part of her nature). That and the allure of freshly mowed grass was too much for her. In her natural form, she headed out to the academy grounds. Halfway there, she stopped and inhaled deeply. The aroma was heady, possibly intensified by her hunger. But there was another scent hiding in the other, a subtle, although vaguely familiar one. She extended her neck and curled her top lip into a flehmen to examine the smell more closely. It had powerful dream magic to it. At first, she thought it might have been Avax Set, but with a more in-depth examination, she knew it was not, which puzzled her. Avax Set was the only one she knew of that could produce this level of dream magic. Could there be another? Another Set?! Avax Set once mentioned he was not the only one.

She started to wander around, sampling the air trying to locate the source of the scent. After some time, she ended up at what looked like a cloud person with an extra pair of arms and no face. One sniff told her this was the source. Walking around it, she was not sure what she was seeing.

Facing it (at least what she thought was its face), she asked, "are you a Set?"

They knew it was an invasion of privacy to enter people's dreams, so they just flew around the borders, almost entering but not quite. One dream in particular looked interesting. It was a happy one and held glimpses of what a normal life on Earth was like.

A voice in the awake world pulled their attention from the dream that was becoming increasingly harder to resist. It took a while for Sela to come to, but when they did, their face gradually reappeared. Two rainbow holes open in their face, then a mouth.

And when they saw the horse in front of them? They flew up and back. "Set? Set of what? Who are you?"

Naisiskhrea watches, with mild surprise, as the one in front of her changed. Two rainbow-colored eyes appeared in what was a blank face followed by a mouth. At the same time, the scent they were generating also changed, becoming less pronounced and different.

By their response to her two things became apparent: 1) they were not a Set and 2) she had violated another's dream - a serious offense in her world.

Rearing up on her hind legs, she has engulfed herself in a thick silver-gray fog. When it abated where there once was a mare now stood a woman in a black gown. Pressing her hands together, she bowed her head, "please forgive me, I did not intend to interfere with your dream. I am Naisiskhrae of the Darkine clan in The Subliminal. I had thought you might be a Set from the strength of dream magic you were presenting."

Usually, she was not this formal, but, although they might not be a Set, they did deserve her respect and, maybe, a little fear.

Sela flew back further as fog covered the horse to reveal a woman a few moments afterward. Their face wasn't good for expression, but their brows made their confusion and discomfort clear enough. What she spoke next only further confused them. Myst and Jao waited attentively in case they needed to come and protect their creator.

"I'm... Sela..." they replied slowly, defaulting back to basic social etiquette until they could think clearer. "I don't know what the Darkine clan is. Or the Subliminal. Or a Set. I was not dreaming. I was meditating to travel near dreams."
