Appearance Description: Lagoon may appear to be a human if you see him walking down the street but he isn’t in the slightest. He’s 5'8" and appears to be fairly fit. He is however an odd creature who hides his true via his elaborate camouflaging abilities. His human form typically has fair skin which will periodically change through a wide range of colors and patterns. His hair appears normal from a distance save it shifting through colors and patterns periodically. If one were to run their hand through it they would feel their fingers being gripped by tiny tendrils. His eyes are usually a lovely shade of blue unless he’s provoked, at which point they’ll turn a deep blood red. His teeth are also razor sharp. No matter what he looks like.
His preferred natural form is actually a black humanoid amphibian creature that stands around six feet with a powerful prenensile tail that’s about twice the length of his body and splits off into two prongs. He possesses a set of feathery gills on the sides of his head and a pair of bioluminescent barbels on the top. His eyes skin generally changes to indicate his mood. A blue pattern forms when he’s feeling more pleasant emotions and red when feeling tense or angry.
Personality Description: If you try talking to you and he ignores you don’t take it personally, he deaf. Regardless of what form he’s in, he can’t hear a word you say to him. He’s learned to communicate through sign language, though he’s also will write out messages in his skin if they fail to understand that. He rarely ever speaks but when he does it’s usually because he has something important to say. Lagoon is observant and also proficient at reading lips. He’s a bit self conscious about his handicap however he doesn’t like people looking down on him because of it. Unfortunately he’s also a bit withdrawn due to worry over communications but if you show him kindness he’ll almost always reciprocate. He generally dislikes confrontation, opting for flight over fight. But if you back him into a corner he will defend himself.
Powers: His species is unknown, he was just sort of found by researchers and studied. He’s notably amphibious, able to breath on land and in water. His natural amphibian form possesses physical capabilities that surpass those of humans several times over. He can sever and regenerate limbs in a matter of hours. As stated before, Lagoon’s deaf and can’t hear sounds. As with most creatures afflicted with such handicaps his other senses have picked up slack for his missing one. Most notably his sense of feel, he can pick up the direction of a sound by feeling vibrations of soundwaves. It’s much stronger in water as opposed to on land, however it can be used to great effect. He’s slowly learning how to interpret the sound waves he feels as a possible additional form of communication.
Malleable physique- In some ways he can be compared to an octopus. His body can alter its texture, color and hardness. At his simplest he can soften himself into a jelly like state and squeeze through a tight crack or harden his skin and sharpen body parts into claws. And on advanced level, he can mimic and hide amongst rocks and various other kinds of terrain. His crowning achievement though was learning how to more or less perfectly mimic humans so that he doesn’t draw attention to himself. With that said, he’s no shapeshifter in the sense that he can turn into anyone. His human form is more akin to what he would look like as a human. It’s unknown whether or not he can take the shapes of other races or not.
Bioelectricity- He possesses organs in his body that generate electricity. As such he can naturally discharge lightning. He normally does so in quick bursts, however he can sustain a charge for a few seconds if he needs to. He currently has no training in any sort of elemental magic nor has he shown any interest at any given point.

At that point he was barely the size of the head researcher’s thumb. He was taken back to be studied due to his chimeric traits as they assumed he was a simple salamander with octopus and electric eel like traits. He seemed to quickly and inexplicably grow, displaying increasing signs of intelligence as well as stronger budding abilities. The only impediment he seemed to have was his lack of ability to hear. The head scientist grew concerned over further experimentation opted to find a way to release him. That’s when he received a letter for Starlight Academy. The pair promptly packed up and snuck out to the island of Manta Carlos.
