It had been a fun day. Madeline brought Jazz along for an outing with three of her other friends. They saw a local movie, messed around, and generally had a good time. It didn't really seem like Jazz's crowd, but if they didn't get along, Maddie didn't notice.

When that was over, Maddie's friends parted ways with the couple. She brought Jazz back to her dorm.

She had been picking up some bad vibes from Jazz lately. In particular, the jealousy. Maddie could tell it was there, and she could tell why. She spent Christmas with Shir's family, and she went out on New Year's with Shir. It made Jazz feel inferior. Maddie also knew what her cousins from Leviathan's realm would say: this was basically a good thing, that it would probably motivate Jazz and strengthen their relationship. All that was convincing enough, but Maddie was already tired of all this jealousy. It was turning into kind of a downer. She wanted to do something about it.

Once they got in her dorm, Maddie bounced onto her bed. "They weren't so bad, right?" It was the first time Maddie had taken Jazz out with that particular friend group.

The night out had certainly been fun, at least on a surface level. She'd been wanting to see the movie they'd gone to for a few weeks, and even though she was a little awkward around Maddie's friends, they were nice enough and didn't put a damper on anything.

The alone time with her was probably what she had most been looking forward to, however. Maddie was absolutely right as to where the jealousy she felt was coming from. Jazz wanted more time with her, of course, but also got hit with a twinge of guilt whenever she started thinking that way.

Sliding onto the bed beside her, the bear girl gave a couple small, stiff nods, smiling sheepishly. "Um, no, y-yeah. They were fine. Nice. Sorry if I didn't really talk to them a ton, just...not really sure what to say, I guess." She fidgeted a little with the sheets between ger fingers, not making eye contact for the time being. It was obvious she was feeling nervous, but trying to play it off.
