Because Crysta is half human and half Kintoc, her synthetic organs do not function as well as they should in a regular Kintoc, and as a result Crysta once experienced frequent health problems. She found that changed when the March Virus hit and she was infected with the Riddle Effect.

Crysta became obsessed with the Riddle Effect, and became determined to find a way to keep herself permanently infected with the virus without the risk of spreading it to others. After spending several months locked up in a lab, she finally mutated the virus in just the way she wanted. Her health has improved immensely now, and she no longer experiences constant physical pain or random organ shut down.

But while the virus has improved her physical health immensely, it has had peculiar effects on her mental state. The Riddle Effect is supposed to help with mental illness, but Crysta is stuck between two ‘illnesses’: Voluntary amnesia which also causes emotional suppression, and Munchausen by Proxy syndrome which the voluntary amnesia is supposed to help suppress.

When the virus lifts her voluntary amnesia, she is capable of feeling a more regular, human-level emotional state but it also brings back her Munchausen by Proxy. When the amnesia clouds Crysta’s mind once more, it suppressed the urges of the Munchausen by Proxy, but it also reverts her back to her more robotic-like state of barely feeling emotions. The Riddle Effect seems unable to 'cure' both of her conditions at once, and instead switches between one state and the other.

As a result, her emotional state has become unbalanced and her behavior has been more erratic.

Injections: A temporary solution to some of Yura’s troubles, she managed to find a special, magically-embedded medication that she is able to inject to temporarily make her blood non-toxic. It does not become regular blood—just less potent. It reduces the damage it does to Yura’s body, and makes it so that the fumes of it cannot harm anyone around her when she’s bleeding or coughing it up.

The needles for the injections are rather long and have to penetrate deep. Yura injects them into her thigh, and they are very painful. Each injection last for about 8 hours.

The injections help Yura feel less sickly and allow her to function better, but blood is still slowing killing her, and this injection is only a temporary solution until she finds something more concrete…if she can.

Nobody seems to know where she's been getting these injections.

Berserker: Werewolves of the Moonlight Clan typically only have the ability to shift into their werewolf forms during the full moon—but some have what is known as a ‘Berserker’ ability, where they can become a werewolf at any time, but go into a mad frenzy when they shift outside a full moon.

Adelyn is one such werewolf, much like Storm. But while Storm is a very large and physically strong werewolf, Adelyn’s form is very different. Rather than huge and muscular like Storm, Adelyn becomes very skinny and her limbs become drastically extended. What she loses in strength is made up for in her speed and agility--able to jump and sprint at a speed that makes her seem to almost disappear from one spot to another. She looks like a starving beast—reminiscent of a wolf-like wendigo.

And much like a wendigo, in this form she is in a constant state of starvation and has an uncontrollable urge to eat any living being in sight. She will only transform back into her regular self after she has either eaten 100 pounds of flesh, or is subdued long enough that her starvation temporarily ‘kills’ her wendigo form and allows her to become normal again.
