Has a daughter and was widowed several years back.

Name means "Trash" in Oleti. He chose it himself as a child, finding it funny that so many of the Prax called him by the word.

Appearance;

“The world is so empty if one thinks only of mountains, rivers & cities; but to know someone who thinks & feels with us, & who, though distant, is close to us in spirit, this makes the earth for us an inhabited garden.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Jarak is a giant, standing at seven feet even with the body of someone who has done a lot of physical labor in their life. His life as a traveler, hunter, and a fighter has left its toll on him. He barely has any fat, his hands are calloused, and his torso is ripped.

Jarak's hair is long and free, as were most people in his tribe. This was a sign of age and respect. His facial hair grows in thin and never seems to fill out, but he's fine with this.

Being half Prax, his skin and hair are dark, but his eyes are not the normal purple, giving away his half Turac nature. Jarak is often covered in red or black tribal paintings relating to his Turac tribe, and he isn't ashamed at all to show them off to the world. He takes pride in doing them and keeping them pristine as he can on his journeys.

Jarak's voice is deep and thundering. Despite his terrifying appearance, he is often found smiling or laughing deeply. His general clothing style is very slight, with baggy pants or bottoms and no shirt. He doesn't wear shoes or any headgear.

Personality;

“Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious.” ― Ruth Reichl

While he is a fighter at heart and intimidating to those who look upon him, Jarak is a comical fellow. He's good-natured and cool-headed. Easy to laugh and joke and rarely offended.

Jarak is big on family and cares deeply about his people. While he was never in the line of succession to lead his tribe, he was a trusted advisor and second to many of the leaders that came and went.

He is an active sort, who enjoys all types of people and has a mostly innocent idea of fun. He likes telling stories around campfires, traveling, scouting, singing, and swimming. He particularly enjoys children and takes on as a parental figure whenever he can.

Coming from a small community that bartered with Praxian settlements but never stayed among them, he has very different views on society and protecting the weak and the young. Never having a proper education means he isn't as book smart as most people are.

More empathetic than pragmatic, Jarak's ideas are always those that involve the least amount of people being harmed or put in harm's way, making him a sort of hero figure. Due to this, he can come off as a glory hound.

Powers;

“Strength lies in differences, not in similarities” ― Stephen R. Covey

LIFE LINK

Jarak's linking ability allows him to link with one other person's life essence. In his moments of death as an infant, Jarak's automatically tied with his twin, Fahru. Because of this, Jarak is sharing his life, his very soul with Fahru.

This gives him a few unique attributes and weaknesses, the most major of which is Jarak's inability to be killed so long as Fahru is alive. He cannot become sick, diseased, poisoned, or affected by exposure. While he can feel hungry, thirsty, or tired, none of these things will negatively affect his body.

Fahru serves as Jarak's phylactery of sorts. When wounded, Jarak regenerates at a normal rate for a Prax, but the parts of his body which have been wounded can still function as normal. A good example of this would be if his head were to be caved in, he could still hear, speak, and see as if his body were fine.

The exception to this rule is any of his body parts that correspond to Fahru's synthetic body parts. As his health depends on Fahru's, Jarak does not feel pain unless Fahru does. He does not get sick or die unless Fahru does, making Fahru's health very important to him.

Jarak gets phantom feelings and emotions that Fahru has, including all of the senses. He dreams the things Fahru has seen, using Fahru's eyes. He random smells the things Fahru does or will get deja vu when hearing things Fahru has heard before or things that stuck with Fahru. At times, he will get phantom feelings of the things Fahru touches, or when Fahru is cold or other physical things happen to his twin.

Because of Fahru's crystallized body parts, Jarak does not have feeling in his corresponding parts, though he will still know if he's been wounded or touched there because he can feel pressure, however sensation (pain or pleasure) is lost on him.

SPECIES ABILITIES As all Prax do, Lae has superior strength, speed, and durability compared to that of humans.
Biography;

“If man is to survive, he will have learned to take a delight in the essential differences between men and between cultures. He will learn that differences in ideas and attitudes are a delight, part of life's exciting variety, not something to fear.” ― Gene Roddenberry

Jarak was born a twin with his brother, Fahru. While his slightly younger brother was born malformed, Jarak was seemingly stillborn. To save his brother, Jarak's mother went out and rid herself of Jarak's body into the vast wildlands of Mes.

Unbeknownst to all parties, Jarak had at some point linked with Fahru. His life link prevented him from remaining dead and later when Fahru was healthier, Jarak was too.

He was taken in by a Turac tribe and grew up a traveler, at times thieving or fighting with nearby Praxian settlements. His particular powerset made him a good choice to infiltrate Praxian towns to steal and beg.

Although he was treated as a second-class citizen and often beaten, Jarak would say he had a good life. He was often overtaken by phantom feelings and pains, but he ignored them and believed himself (along with the rest of his tribe) to be marked by the Gods.

It was in the later years of his life that Jarak left Mes, feeling a deep discontent within himself. This later lead him to Manta Carlos' station where things simply felt 'right.'

SPECIAL ITEMS;

“The socialism I believe in is everyone working for each other, everyone having a share of the rewards. It's the way I see football, the way I see life.” ― Bill Shankly, The Quotable Shankly

Has a language bracelet that has been tweaked so it doesn't translate 100%, allowing Jarak to still practice speaking English even as he wears it.
