Alex walked by the lake, her breath creating a fog as it came out her mouth. She was dragging her feet through the snow and thinking about her parents. Why couldn't they accept her the way she was? Why where they afraid of her? Slowly, a tear started to roll down her face. Her wing wrapped around her to block the cold. She looked like a black bird kneeling on the ground. She broke down into a loud cry.

"WHY...Why me?" she was yelling because there was no one else around.

Like every day Anastasia was out for a run around the lake. Her breath seemed to freeze in the air each time she exhaled, her lungs freezing with the new in take of cold air. She really didn't like the cold, in fact she practically hated it. She was a summer girl or at the very least a spring girl. "Stupid snow." Anastasia muttered to herself as she continued her run around the lake.

For once her blonde hair was tied back in a ponytail, bobbing every time she took another step. However one thing had not changed; her make-up. She still had her usual red eye, black eye liner, blush, and red lip stick on. Thankfully for her she had found someone to cast a spell so her make-up wouldn't run.

Looking down at the ground for a second Anastasia smiled at her brand new lime green runners. She hadn't had a new pair of running shoes for about two years, and had finally forced her brother to send her enough money to buy a pair. Money was something she was use to having, so the rest of her outfit was what she had worn for the last three years; black sweat pants and a black long sleeved shirt.

She was about have wave around the lake when she heard a scream. Anastasia stopped in her tracks, suddenly looking around for what or who made that noise. It took her about three seconds to realize that it had come from someone crouched in the snow only one hundred meters away from where she was standing right now. By the looks of the person it was a girl with wings. Anastasia sighed and then began to jog forward, "It's always my job to comfort people, isnt it." She said to herself.

When she reached the girl, Anastasia had already figured out what she was going to say. Bending down beside the girl Ann, put her hand on the girls right black wing. "Hey, are you okay?" Anastasia asked, her voice showing more emotion than it normally did.

Alex was frightened because she didn't know that there was anyone there. Now she felt like a fool for yelling like she did. She blushed and looked behind her at the girl. She had never met the girl before because it was only her second day and had been anti-social for the first day.

"Oh, uh, I uh didn't think anyone was here. *sniff sniff* Yeah I-I'm fine. I was just thinking." It was apparent that she had been crying because of two things: her quivering voice and her tear stained cheeks.

Alex started to get up as she said, "My name is Alex. I am new here." She looked at the girl and then looked away. She brushed of the snow from her pants legs and wiped her face with her finger tips. "I am sorry if I was in the way of your jogging I will move." *sniff*

Anastasia looked at the girl, trying her hardest to not crack out some sarcastic remark. She didn't know what the girl was facing, so she tried to tell herself that there was no reason to judge the girl so soon. Anastasia really wasn't a bad person, she was just a bit of a grouch sometimes, and today was hopefully not one of those days. Nodding when the girl answered, Anastasia stood up, offering a hand to help the girl up. "Well, that's good that your good," Anastasia said, giving the girl a smile. "But normally when people think they don't scream... Of course that could just be something I gathered from my years in society." She didn't mean it in a mean way, but she some how thought the girl really hadn't been thinking. There was something wrong, and Anastasia didn't feel that it would be a nice of her just to leave the girl here, especially alone.

"Nice to meet you Alex. My name is Anastasia," She said, moving a bit back so she wouldn't crowd the girl and her black wings. "Yah, I gathered that your new here, because if you weren't you would have known that I jog here every day." Anastasia rubbed her hands together, it was getting colder now that she had stopped moving. Closing her eyes for a second she felt for the plant life around her. Before she opened her eyes she felt the ball of energy floating between her hands, giving off warmth, or at least as much as energy from plant life could give. "To warm us up slighty, it is kinda cold and you don't look so warm." Anastasia said as she let the ball float off her hands and into the middle of the two of them. It would only last about twenty minutes, but maybe that would be enough. And if she really needed too she could just make another one. "So I like your wings." Anastasia commented, her brown eyes lingering on the beautiful wings. It was a bit random of her to comment on them, but she felt a bit random today.
