Idea for a story

So I want to write this story where a fortune-telling predicts this guy (or perhaps woman's?) death in a week, or maybe a different number, I dunno. Anyway, I figured I could have him commit suicide right when he was supposed to die because he didn't want to wait for his unknown cause of death. Thus, he kills himself when otherwise he would have lived. Basically, the fortune-teller predicted his suicide.
The question is, how do I write that? What point of view, and frankly, how? I can't figure anything out. Maybe you guys can. Anything you could tell me would be great as it might spark something in my mind for an idea.
Thanks ^.^

This is kinda an old topic, but... Poo, I wanted to reply. :shakefist:

Great idea, by the way - it sounds awesome.

If you're still thinking about doing this/haven't decided, I'd personally go with first person narrative, past tense, perhaps as s/he is looking back over the previous week, and then bring it up to present tense at the death scene. Or have the whole thing be in past tense, as if they were writing it after their death...

I don't have any suggestions towards the actual story, though... I'd have the guy be extremely non-superstitious, have the prediction eat at him until he was completely sure it was true.

I don't really know what you're really asking *tilts head* good luck with the writing, it's a great idea.
