Krish have managed to get through his first few days of school at this Academy, and he had to say, he already hated it. Everybody in the class seemed to already know way too much, while he was at his desk, fighting the urge to throw his held pencil at someone asking the teacher a question. Who cares!? He already wasn't following as well as he should have, something that was clearly the teacher's fault!

Which is why he've been trying to slow down, or even stop the class. He needed some time to think, he didn't need help, no, he just needed some time to catch up on his own, obviously. But causing an illness in the teacher wasn't going as well as he'd hoped. Even after the man by the whiteboard began sneezing up a storm, he still insisted on continuing on the equations! After a death glare, or two, directed at this annoyance of a teacher, Krish turned to the desk next to him, snapping his fingers to get the person's attention. He had no idea who this was, but he wanted to talk so he didn't care.

"Why is this teacher continuing? He's clearly sick, which you can clearly see, right? Aren't we let out if the the teacher can't, y'know, teach? We can just look over what we already learned." Or didn't learn, but he wasn't saying that. While he spoke, he glanced back at the teacher, making the man's eyes water for what seemed like no reason. "See, sick as can be."

The figure sitting next to Krish had been staring directly ahead with his arms folded across his chest, completely unmoving, for quite some time now. Someone not paying too much attention might think he was just utterly enthralled with the teacher's lecture. Someone looking more closely would probably notice the crow demon's eyes were completely glazed over. A faint whistling came from the corner of his beak as he dozed obliviously through the man's entire sneezing fit. Even the wave of giggles among his classmates failed to wake him up until the person next to him snapped his fingers.

Kuwa gave a little jolt and cocked his feathered head to the side, glancing startledly over his recently-transferred desk-partner. Remedial classes at the Academy weren't all as miserable as solving equations, but this class in particular had the young tengu zoning out so hard that even his own classmates fell off his radar. He studied Krish first with one eye, then the other. He looked at the teacher, evidently with an onset of sudden allergies.

"..."

The expression on his bird-face was unreadable. "Kek?" he said-- which meant nothing-- and then looked between the two again. The connection finally dawning on him, Kuwa discreetly pointed at his desk-mate. Brightening at the chance to escape a boring class, Kuwa leaned across the aisle and scribbled a note (Hi) quickly on the corner of his neighbor's paper before leaning back. As if playing back an exact recording of the other student's voice, the parrotmouth raised his voice over his classmates' snickering and repeated "He's clearly sick, sick as can be..."

"Yes, clearly. So that means students don't stay in class, I heard that somewhere, didn't you?" That was just a full out lie, but Krish moved past it as fast as he could so no signs of that appeared on his face. He glanced down at the paper and gave a quick, half hearted wave, at least acknowledging the note. He had to wonder why people did stuff like that, but people were weirder than him, so...

Instead of dwelling on that, he kept the teacher at the corner of his eye, making the coughs harsher and harsher. Also out of the corner of his eye was the clock, and frustratingly enough, time for the class was running low, and if the bell rang than this was literally all for nothing. And he could not take that, not after he actually came up with something clever.

He pointed at the birdlike student. "So why not bring the fact we barely can learn while the teacher is sick? I mean, you were basically asleep. It makes sense, seriously, if he refuses then we can just bring it up with another teacher later." Krish haven't exactly read up on what happens when a teacher is absent and thanks to that, a substitute have quite literally never crossed his mind. At the very least, it kept him sounding confident, even if it kept him less than quiet.

(I'm sorry it took me this long to reply, things were just too hectic! However, I will likely have quicker posts from now on!)

Ever-so-pleased that his deskmate had seen his note (Kuwa prided himself on his penmanship) the bird-man fluffed his feathers importantly. He bobbed his head along as Krish talked, offering nothing more than utterly mindless agreement. He was a little distracted by the continued coughing from their teacher, whose symptoms were certainly becoming alarming. Kuwa cocked his head a little bit towards the instructor, wondering what on earth was the matter with him. He had seen sick humans before, but the daitengu of his homeland never fell ill-- he had no system of rules to compare it to. However, it made sense that if you couldn't talk, you couldn't teach... right?

The possibility of magic at work never occurred to the tengu, who could normally "smell" that kind of power at work. They didn't call his kind jinx-eaters for no reason. But there was nothing about the situation that alerted Kuwa's bird-shaped senses-- just a class full of giggling remedial students, a very ill professor, and an increasingly loud voice of reason beside him. Should I do it? The thought echoed cavernously around his head, and Kuwa hesitated. Why didn't Krish just say it himself? Kuwa was nervous enough speaking as it was, and trying to talk to the teacher or going up in front of the class was...

Brightening at his new idea, the tengu snaked out with both hands and took hold of Krish's elbow. Kuwa stood, tugging insistently at his new partner in crime to force the other male to join him. "We can barely learn while the teacher is sick," he parroted helpfully. Looking around and seeing that nobody was impressed-- least of all their instructor, who was attempting to tell him to sit down through fits of coughing-- Kuwa began to feel alarmed and tugged at Krish again, changing tactics. "He is sick!" he declared, "I am sick! Somewhere sick students don't stay in class?" Kuwa began to make convincing coughing noises as if playing back a tape from a flu ward.

(ooc: No prob! Sorry for the wait on my end too!)

At first, things went mostly how Krish had thought they would. Certainly was a rushed plan, but nobody could think well when they just wanted to do anything else than what they were doing. But he realized he probably shouldn't have asked this kid when the student grabbed him to join in whatever he was going to try.

For a brief moment Krish tried to remain seated, but after already being mostly pulled out of his desk, he had to stand or end up in some odd in between state. He crossed his arms tightly and gritted his teeth, well, he could go along with this turn, so long as the guy stuck to the idea, right?

The bird teen didn't. Krish shut his eyes, feeling like a headache was just around the corner, especially once the obvious amusement from the remidial students around the class became apparent. He didn't even need his powers to realize that, and even then he did not like the idea that kept trying to force it's way into his head that he was supposed to be funny. Though, the impulse to keep this going, at least, was beginning to be a bit powerful, and when the birdlike student began imitating a surprising realistic cough, Krish decided he was definitely not getting out of this, and added a sudden and temporary bout of the shakes to the two of them. Hey, had to be convincing, right? He couldn't make a powerful symptom all of the sudden, but he could make a visible one. And the other student could take one single symptom, besides, it was his idea that the plan switch to themselves being sick.

And at the very least, that part of the plan worked, they were allowed out of the classroom. Once out though, Krish frowned. "Yeah... we're probably going to end up in detention now."
