Name: Gilbert Lafayette. Takes it from parts of his historical counterpart's name.
Age: 19
Birthday: Unknown.
Gender: Physically Male. Doesn't seem to care what pronouns people use and will even crossdress for attention.
Species: Human, cloned with editing. Has mechanical parts installed and thus could count as a cyborg, see below.
Career: Acting, particularly in historical re-enactments and historical films. He doesn't mind bit parts in other genres, however. So long as it brings the money in.

Appearance Description: Gilbert stands 5'10" with pale skin over a narrow frame, short wavy dark brown hair framing a doll-like face with dark brown eyes. Aside his obviously robotic arms, he looks much like his historical counterpart did back in the day- and he takes immense pride in that fact, looking for historically accurate clothes when he can- and substituting the closest possible thing when he can't. He also goes to pains to hide his mechanical arms however he can, though he does maintain them well under all that concealment.

Personality Description: The best way to describe Gilbert is as an extreme extrovert and attention seeker. He cannot mentally survive without near constant attention, and actually fears being alone for more than an hour at a time. He's constantly fearful he'll end up hurting himself or someone else, whether it's emotionally of physically... And yet, it takes a long time to completely earn his trust as well. He intentionally tries to distance himself from people so they don't hurt him or vice versa, even though he needs attention to survive. And thus he can seem indecisive and impulsive because of these conflicting psychological pulls. He very much blames himself for everything that happened in his past.

Powers: None that aren't related to his species.

Species Abilities: Increased disease and drug resistance and slightly improved senses due to gene editing. He will, however, likely experience a shorter than usual lifespan anyway because of problems with his cell's telomeres. And that comes with aging hitting him faster too. Grey hair? Joint pain? All that will happen sooner for him.

He also has had his arms replaced with mechanical substitutes. They aren't the most subtle things, either. Whilst he has increased strength and durability of his arms as well as access to retractable claws and four storage compartments in both of them (each could store up to three collapsible batons or a similar amount of stuff), they aren't exactly easy to maintain. They aren't shielded against electrical influence either, whether it's meant to go through to Lafayette or just to damage the arms themselves.

Biography: Gilbert was created by an individual who hadn't really thought through what they were doing, and consequently suffered from the moment he was born. His creator being his mother, he couldn't help but feel emotional ties to the superscientist whilst they lived in France... But she was also abruptly fired for misusing lab equipment and subsequently banned from ever working in a lab in France again. She did her best to raise Gilbert, but she slowly realized she didn't have the resources- all her training was in genetics and she was having trouble branching out from it. This was shortly after Gilbert had tried breaking into a lab and procuring resources for her to continue her work illegally! He ended up losing his arms then, at only 8 years old.

And that was when Rita realized she needed to send him elsewhere for his own safety. After she got the issue of prosthetics worked out with some close friends, off he was sent to the Islands. He's been there ever since, looked after and educated by a foster family that were kind yet distant. They tended to leave himself to his thoughts, which left him desperate for attention when he actually had the time. Consequently he became something of an attention seeker- even if it brings harm to himself, though he at least resorted to that as a last ditch effort. Recently he moved in with a few fellow actors who don't mind the company, as he still needs someone around... But got tired of how his adoptive family handled things. It just wasn't what he needed.

Additional Information: Other people are encouraged to make other historical figure clones. Let's make a whole group of them! You can omit the mechanical limbs if need be, but in this set gene editing would still be a requirement.
