Felicity Karem is quiet. It's hardly her fault (refer to the Abilities portion of this application), but even if she has her voice, she hardly ever speaks unless needed (that is not to say she doesn't have her own fiery, snarky opinions). Even when she does speak, her sentences are normally curt, but not unkind. To most, she probably just sounds polite and formal, though distant. She's a hard person to befriend, but it's got more to do with her inner issues than her silence.
She's mostly mute by choice but her mind remains loud. She struggles with PTSD from her experiences in the world beyon Manta Carlos (refer to her Biography on this application), and suffers from panic attacks when they're triggered, as well as night terrors.
To drown out both the noise and the quiet plaguing her, she often buries herself in books--both for academic work, and for pleasure. She loves music, too, and listens to all kinds of genres. One can normally find Felicity with earbuds on, reading a book or doing her schoolwork.
Active Abilities:
Whenever Felicity uses her voice, it sounds like a scream, despite it not being projected in a loud volume. The reason for this is that the sound waves she emits can capture multiple different frequencies all at once--even the more powerful ones, which can highly damage anyone in her vicinity, even kill someone, depending on the volume of her Scream. Sound energy gets depleted as it travels, however, and her Scream is no exception to this. While it can cause high levels of damage (permanent deafness to brain damage to death) to people in her immediate surroundings, the farther victims are from her, the less the damage they take. If in a separate room from her Scream, the worst that victims may probably experience is temporary deafness, the duration of the ailment depending on their sensitivity to sound.

Other than mentally incapacitated? (Her Scream can most probably trigger a panic attack.) She's only immune to sound energy. Other kinds of energy can still harm her. Light energy, in particular, can blind her faster than it would an average human, and if only temporarily, her blindness may last a longer time than normal. This is most probably due to the fact that, since one of her senses (hearing) got amplified, another weakened as a trade-off. She can't stare directly at a light source for longer than probably 1-2 seconds.

Felicity wasn't nearly as silent as she is now, but back then, she never really spoke that much, either. She was born an orphan and raised in a foster home in the small town of Lambertville, New Jersey. Her foster father was abusive, and often used the foster care money provided by the government for drugs and alcohol. He even lost a large chunk of it gambling. From a young age, Felicity had beenbrainwashed forced to take care of herself and her foster father, often doing the chores whether or not he commanded her to. And whenever she did something that fell below his expectations, she was beaten and bruised until she was unconscious and/or she had screamed herself raw. Her friends or neighbors never came for her. She never knew why they never did, but now she never knows where to place her trust—mainly because she'd never put it in the right place before.
Then one day, it happened. Felicity had just started 11th grade in the local public high school when her foster father beat her up again. If asked, she'd say she couldn't remember why. She would only remember the immense pain (one would think she would be used to it by now, but it was different this time, she insists), and how much she screamed and screamed and screamed. She screamed so much that something awoke inside her—something she never even noticed slept within—and her screams turned into a Scream, one that pierced her foster father's brain with so much force his head was reduced to shrapnel.

- Felicity has short, layered, raven black hair cut in a bob, shoulder length towards the front and just above the nape of her neck towards the back.
- Her straight bangs stop just above her eyes, which are a deep blue.
- She has pale, milky skin that, much to her frustration, gets freckled rather than sunkissed wherever the sunlight lingers for a long time.
- She's tiny. At 5'2 with a skinny frame (104 lbs, last time she checked), she can fool anyone into thinking she's helpless.
- She likes wearing the standard version of the uniform, and prefers not to add anything more than perhaps a sweater or blazer during the cold weather as embellishment.
- When she's not wearing her uniform, she favors hoodies with front pockets and jeans, with some sneakers for her feet. She mostly wears plain, dark clothing as well. She doesn't really like sleeveless clothing, but she'll wear a dress/skirt if she has to.
