"Maybe you can join me sometime."
Oh shit, no one had ever asked Diego out. Or, well, no one he'd actually been attracted to had. Diego had been asked out by chicks but he was gay as fuck so he always turned them down. So this situation was so surreal, Diego was having trouble believing it. But some part of him obviously accepted it before the rest of his brain 'cos he had a happy grin on his face and he nodded eagerly, his blush as deep as ever.
"I would never say no to a good smelling coffee shop! It's a date~"
Diego answered and snickered.
Diego was almost too giddy to notice how obvious Kal made his missing hand. But as he waited for the money his attention was drawn to it and his reaction wasn't really a big one. His brows rose just a bit from surprise. How hadn't he seen that before? The guy was missing a hand, you'd think that'd be obvious. Well, Diego had been just a bit distracted by Kal's face...
Diego was kinda dumb, but even he could kinda guess that Kal wanted him to see the hand. To kinda gauge his reaction. And he would see that Diego wasn't really fazed by it. Hell, back in his old neighbourhood there'd been people with missing fingers, ears, eyes and whole limbs. One hand was nothing. Well, obviously it was something for Kal.
"Thanks!"
Diego said with a smile when he took the money and rang it up, putting the tip in the tip jar behind the counter. Diego grinned at Kal and adjusted the flower crown that was still on his head.
"How about a flower crown as a freebie? You'd rock it, I can tell."
Diego chuckled, not really expecting Kal to say yes. It was stereotypical but it was true that barely any guys Diego offered the crowns to took them.
