“Yeah, that sounds really great!” He nodded enthusiastically, then widened his eyes. “Really? It’s so pretty, though. Maybe they’re worried about getting them dirty or something…”

“I’m Alfredo, Anna! I guess if you shortened my name you’d get ‘Alfred’, huh.” He rocked back and forth on his feet, thinking. “So, you probably know the school better than I do, because I’m actually really new. Is there anywhere cool we could go?”

Tightening her grasp on Alfredo's hand, Anna gave the funny man a broad smile. She had taken to him immediately, and rather wished she could keep him as something of a pet.
"I'm kinda new, too, but I like the library. Have you seen the librarian? He's mean."

Giving a short giggle to that, Annaleise paused to think more seriously about any cool places that the school had. "Well. My bestest friend Sylvi has a wolf. I bet you could pet him! He likes to be petted. Have you ever petted a wolf before? It doesn't feel like a dog. It feels like a ... Like a broom."

“He is? I guess I’ll have to stay away from him, then. I’m not very good with mean people…” Alfredo bit his lip nervously at the thought.

A wolf. A wolf?! Alfredo shrunk back in surprise – and concern. “Oh, ahaha, well, I guess I could! I haven’t ever… petted a wolf though, no. Or a dog. Dogs and wolves are really big. And they have a lot of teeth, and they like to put them into rabbits sometimes and then eat them, so I – I don’t know. I guess I’m a little bigger now, so maybe I’d survive, but… maybe. Maybe we can do that.”

He swayed back and forth. “Or maybe we could do something less dangerous, ahahah! Actually, the school gave me a little money to do stuff with. Apparently I’ll be getting a bit of a – an allowance. Just a bit. I don’t really understand money, so the school people told me I should practice!” He put his hand into his pocket and pulled out a couple of bills. It looked like they came to about fifty dollars. “So maybe we can go buy stuff… somewhere?”

Annaleise bounced excitedly when Alfredo shrunk away from her. "Oh, yes! A great big wolf! As big as a horse, and teeth this big!" Dropping Alfredo's hand, Anna threw her arms out as wide as she could get them, to show just how big his teeth were. Of course, they weren't nearly that big, but a bit of extaggeration never hurt anyone. "He's even eaten people, before, isn't that neat? One day I'll be big enough to eat a people."

Poking her tongue out in thought, Annaleise was a little disappointed for a request to do something less bold. She only knew about a couple shops, and even then she hadn't gone very often ... "Oh! Do you like pets? I met the pet shop man. He's very nice, he helps me turn into a dragon. If you like sweets, there's a caffee somewhere!" She had heard the elder students excitedly gossiping about some strange store called a caffee, and had immediately wanted to go and see the café for herself.

As big as a horse! And with a jaw as wide as Anna’s arms – or was that just the size of one tooth?! Just how big of a horse was Anna comparing this wolf to?!

Now he didn’t just have monster wolves to worry about, but monster horses too, big and willing to trample everything in their sight… “O-oh, that really is neat. Wow… so you’re going to get really big too… but you’re not going to eat me, right? Ahaha.”

“Pets, huh…” He wasn’t sure about that one. He wasn’t sure what he’d felt towards the other rabbits at his competitions had been “like”. Maybe “rivalry”. “Oh, but I do like sweets! Maybe we can go to the caffee together and I can try to get you something! I don’t really know how to buy stuff, but I bet you could help me out, huh?”

Annaleise shook her head quickly, denying that she'd eat him. "No, I'll only eat the scary people. You're not a very scary person, I think. " Glancing up into Alfredo's face, Anna nodded definitely. No, he wasn't scary. She already had something of a list going. Well, whenever she could remember who was on that supposed list. More often than not, she was far too distracted by other important things to care.

"Yes! I think the caffee is in the city, though. I've not been allowed to go out there without a big person. But you're big, right?" Latching back onto Alfredo's hand, Annaleise squirmed happily, excited to be going out on an adventure to the city. This person seemed like he could easily be influenced into going to a toy store, even. None of the big people she had gone with before wanted to get sweets and toys, unfortunately.

“…Oh, okay!” And Alfredo brightened up again. Now he had a little protector! Who would become a big protector one day. He wondered how quickly little human girls grew up – or little dragon girls, as it were. “Then we’ll both be safe! I hope you grow up soon.”

The city? Alfredo wasn’t sure what the city was, but… “Yeah, I’m big! I bet we can find it if we’re careful.” He held onto her hand almost a bit nervously, but ready to head out. “You’ll have to lead the way a little, I’m not sure where everything is – but if there’s anything scary I’ll help you find somewhere to hide, okay?”

"Well, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Lots of people are there, there's even a beach!" Straightening up, Anna puffed out her chest a little, excited to be a guide to the city, even though she didn't know her own way around. "No, it's fine! If there's anything scary, I'll roast them for you. Then they won't be so scary anymore!" At least, if she was scared hard enough, she could pop back into her dragon form without too much issue.

Leading the way out of the shelves and back towards the door, a faint smile crossed her lips as she caught sight of the colour coded shelves Alfredo had been working on. Hopefully the scary librarian would not care too much. Anna glanced back at Alfredo. "We're going to the caffee first, right?"

“Okay, so we look for lots of people, and also a beach! That sounds exciting.” He had no idea what a beach was, either!

“Wh-whoooa, um – setting people on fire might be a bit much! But we’ll count on each other, okay? I’m sure with the two of us we can beat anything!” He wasn’t quite as sure as he sounded, but something about Anna made him want to sound cool in front of her.

He followed eagerly behind the younger girl. “Yeah, it’s to the caffee first. I’m all ready to head out, so let’s go!”
