Thorn's eyes narrowed a bit more, "you were hatched and raised in China?" He closed his eyes, hovering there for a moment, it was her, it had to be her, "when our clan was attached we moved my sibling's egg to China for safety."

He looked at her, "we had to return to help our clan....but it was too late." So, this was it, after so many centuries, "when I made back to China...the egg was gone."

Lae shook her head, creating more space between her and the other dragon. This couldn't be. She wasn't just forgotten. No one just forgot their baby. She had to have been abandoned. It was the only explination. She'd barely survived long enough to make it to the orphanage, and meeting Yué there had been a miraculous streak of luck.

If Yué hadn't taken her, Laelynn would have had to live as a human. And when you didn't age like a human, people would get suspicious and kill you for witch craft or demonry.

"No. No, no, no, no, no!" Laelynn screeched at the top of her lungs now, although her voice had started calm and collected. The small dragoness plumetted, unable to focus on keeping herself aloft.

Thorn moved quickly, despite his weakened wings he could move quickly when needed. So he flew underneath the young girl, and quickly catching her in the palm of his hand.

He looked at her, so tiny, so young, she looked nothing like him, but it had to be her, "I am of the Naritoloth clan of Europe." He sighed, "when the clan was destroyed I moved the egg of my sibling to China for protection."

All the years of being alone, all of the regret showed in his eyes, "I am so sorry."

"No."

Laelynn refused to believe him. She didn't want to consider the possibility of actually having had a family that wanted her. That they had left her behind and forgotten until she showed up agian. Yue was her family. Her parents hadn't wanted her. She was left for dead in the middle of nowhere because no one else wanted her.

Tears streamed down Laelynn's cheeks as she took off, leaping from Thorn's hand and flying east. She was going home, and staying there.
