Biography:

TRIGGERS: mental illness (PTSD) & mentions of attempted suicide
You were born an only child to Nathan and Fiona Madden, raised in Hell, Michigan all your life. Before you came into the world, your mother was a nurse, treating patients of all kinds. She had met your father while on vacation; a young retired officer who had a powerful sense of justice. A friend of Fiona's had set her up on a blind date with him, and both could immediately agree that it was love at first sight. After a full two years of being together, the two of them eventually married, not once parting from each other. However, Fiona began to notice signs of Nathan's mental illness. While he had hidden it fairly well, the man was suffering from PTSD, and symptoms of this became painfully apparent to your mother.
It started with the constant nightmares, then it escalated to him becoming more agitated with others. It eventually reached the point where he isolated himself from his wife and friends. Fiona felt helpless; what could she do to help him? It was then that his attempt to take his own life became something that the woman refused to ignore. She had caught him wandering off to the shed in the back of your home, and immediately followed him. Fiona had managed to stop him just in time before he pulled the trigger, the two of them collapsing onto the grass as she held him tightly in her arms, sobbing and apologizing multiple times.
All this time, she had blamed herself for not taking action into helping the love of her life. She saw the signs, yet did nothing but watch in hesitation. In his way, Nathan was crying out for help, wanting her to stop him. After holding each other for several hours, Fiona had finally revealed that she was pregnant with a baby girl. They were going to be parents, and that fact opened Nathan's eyes. He had made a promise to her then; he would get the help he needed to be the husband she deserved and to become a father their daughter could be proud of.
The day you were born was a happy occasion, a day filled with tears of joy and laughter. It was a cold December afternoon when you came into the world kicking and screaming. Given the name Deirdre, you grew up happily with two loving parents. As a child, you were shy and known to hide behind your father's leg if a stranger were to come too close. However, you grew out of your timidity and eventually became brave enough to make friends once you reached school age. You were "daddy's little girl", and you were proud to wear that title. There were times when Nathan's PTSD would kick in, and as you found him struggling with his nightmares, you would crawl into bed between your parents and hold his hand with a small smile. "It's okay, Papa. I'm here." Your small voice would reassure him, and somehow, it would help soothe him and it made your mother joyful and proud.
During your school days, you would find yourself struggling to fit in along with your classmates. There was a particular boy who would harass you relentlessly, yet that never stopped you from trying to befriend him. Something about this boy had you drawn to him, yet every time you tried to interact and get closer to him, he pushed you away. It was because of this that your insecurities began to form within you, always doubting and questioning yourself. This would last until he graduated before you did and the two of you had gone your separate ways. You still thought about the young boy now and then, a part of your heart still clinging to that old childhood crush. However, as the years started to roll by, you decided to push those feelings aside and move on. You started to believe that you would never see him again.
Around the age of 23, you felt the desire to broaden your horizons and see the world begin to fill up within you. Even though you loved living in Michigan, you craved more. Most of the very few friends you had departed to start a new life, and you dreamed of doing the same. Your journey would start when your father recommended moving to the Manta Carlos Islands, where his older brother, Frederick, currently resided. Despite the anxiety that bubbled up in your heart, you left Hell, Michigan to move in with Frederick at this new location until you earned enough money to find a place of your own. Two years later, you became a citizen of Manta Carlos. During that time, you had gained a part-time job at a local cafe while even finding an apartment to call your own. Everything seemed to be falling in place; that is until you were to be reunited with him, the boy you had once known back in school. You never would have dreamed that you would meet him in a place like this, and from that point on, things would start to become even more complicated.
