Shay had never actually spoken to Donny before, not beyond being at his daughter's birthday party or watching him talk with Vito or Klaus. Still, Shay thought Donny was a good person, neutral, but good. The kind of guy you would use as a Demon spokesperson. So, going to the Underground to visit his shop wasn't scary to her.

She didn't go to the counter immediately upon entering. Instead, she hung back, looking over anything and everything and trying to be subtle about watching him. Waiting and watching for when he'd be free and when the store would be empty enough that she could make her request. It didn't need to be, but Shay would have felt more comfortable if it was.

Shay thought his work was impressive, not that she'd have known if it weren't. Shay was no weapons expert, and she'd never worked to create anything as complex as this. She figured if Vito was willing to use Donny's arms to supply the Rosales gang that Donny must have been impressive because Vito liked the best. How much would the best cost? Shay had saved up a good deal of money; she didn't expect to be able to buy what she wanted now, but at least she'd know how much more she needed to save after this little visit.

It had been a relatively slow day at the shop. Donny had managed to run inventory, clean, and get his deliveries out with no interruption at all. Alice was still in her chamber incubating and as a result he never strayed far from the shop, not even to shop for groceries. He couldn't risk the lab clowns trying something foul while he was away. He sat at the counter in the show room playing some game on his tablet while keeping an eye out, just in case a customer came in.

Having run this business for a couple centuries he'd developed a sort of sixth sense for when a customer would wander through the door. He glanced up as the door opened, bringing with it a young girl who could be no older than twelve or so. He frowned, what was a kid doing in a place like this? His eyebrow arched upon recognizing whose kid it was. Eroshay, Klaus and Vito's kid. She didn't come here on her own did she? His street was relatively quiet but that's only because he lived on this street. There was still the surrounding area she'd have to navigate in order to get there. Well she'd at least be safe here for the time being.

"You looking for something in particular, kid?"

When Donny addressed her, Shay stepped up to the counter. She hadn't yet realized he knew who she was. Shay's walk here had been uneventful; she may have gotten some looks, but with Klaus' scent adorning her like perfume, not many people would mess with her. He had told her once that being in the underworld and being associated with him was as safe as it got, she was going to believe that.

"Mr. Damascus," Shay began, sober as ever. A child playing adult. "You take custom orders, right? I was wondering if you could make me a silver knife and," Shay blushed here, it was embarrassing. It shouldn't have been, but it was, "a family crest. I wanted to discuss pricing before anything."

She was playing grown up, or something close to it. He remembered she was still the daughter of a pair of local crime lords, still they had enemies too. He couldn't help but smirk as he listened to her request. Custom orders could get expensive depending on the specifications of the client. She was however a daughter of a family friend so he'd naturally cut her a decent deal. It still wouldn't be super cheap though.

"Well generally speaking Custom orders will run you about nine-hundred bucks plus parts and labor. I'm a nice guy though so for you I can charge exactly seven...hundred," he smirked, amused at her request.

"Regarding this knife though, what kind of knife do you want? And what enchantments do you want it to have? And I'll need a copy of your family crest," he pulled out a pen and note pad, ready to write down every detail she provided.

Shay bit her lower lip, squinting a hint at Donny. She was trying to understand why he might have been smirking, but she didn't know him well enough to hazard a guess.

Still being twelve, money and financing was a bit of a mystery to Shay. That sounded like a lot to her, but so did two hundred dollars and she got that as a weekly allowance. So, her allowance paired with her part-time job meant...she could make that. Maybe a little over a month? Depending on how much labor and parts would cost. The seven hundred, though, she had that.

"The knife, right." She felt odd doing business. She thought she would be more confident than this, but faced with it, she was still a little nervous. "Sliver dagger in the vague shape of a sharpened cross. Light magic enhancement." She felt like a traitor.

She reached back into the backpack she wore and pulled out a large poster of paper. She had practiced the design until her hand cramped. She wanted it to be perfect. She showed it to Donny, sliding it across the counter. "For the crest, I'd like a handful of pins in its design."

The arms dealer simply sat amused, where did Klaus even find these eccentric personalities? This was clearly her first time doing this kind of business. As he made notes for the request, which he'd fulfill to the letter. This would give him something to do while Alice was incubating at the very least. He had the materials, the emblem. But arched an eyebrow at the phrase "light enhancement". And the cross shape made it seem like she was going to go off demon hunting.

"Well, there's not really a such thing as light a lightly enhanced weapon. It's either got the magic or not there's not really an in between. I'll just give it a standard reinforcement. You can bring it back in and I can tweak it for you if you want."

Of course by standard, he meant the thing could handle most beings within reason. Just a non discriminant defensive weapon for a charming young lady. He was tempted to shave off another hundred from the price, but he opted to keep that to himself.

"If I may ask though, what's this for? You're not plotting a murder or anything are you, kid?" he was half teasing her as he leaned in. Truth be told, he was treating her like he would any other client. "I mean I wouldn't recommend it, considering your age. Then again I really don't have room to talk."

"I think there's a misunderstanding," Shay said thoughtfully. Slow and precise. "I meant, like white magic. Light-based magic. Not Holy." Shay felt Donny was amused with her; he was giving off that vibe, but she didn't piece together why he might find this so humorous. Maybe he thought she was cute playing adult when she was a young girl. Maybe he thought it was cute because of Klaus and Vito.

It must have looked suspicious with who her new parents were. Shay knew it would look that way even before she'd stepped foot in the shop. She had thought a lot about it and finally decided she didn't care how damning it seemed. Shay didn't plan to use it on them. She couldn't even if she wanted to, nor did she have a reason.

"I wasn't planning on hurting anyone. I just wanted it for protection." She leveled her gaze. He was kind and less adult than she imagined him being. Shay relaxed and shrugged. "I'm going to be in the underworld a lot; there's a lot of shadow creatures around. If I use the holy symbol of a cross, I can defend against creatures weak to those, the light magic fights off shadow monsters and magic, and the silver deals with a wide variety of creatures."

With that out of the way, Shay asked, "did you hurt people when you were my age, Mr. Damascus?"
