The sun is out and it's time to hit the beach. To mark an official start of Summer, the city of Manta Carlos is hosting a weekend long beach cookout. Come out, play in the sun (or moon, for you nocturnal types), take a swim, and enjoy the summer with friends and family.

But it's not all just for fun; it's an enriching experience to narrow the gap between people. The cookout is a cultural festival as well. Tents dot the area, offering insight and cuisine from cultures from all over Earth and beyond, human and non-human alike.

Likewise, there will be several tents offering free First Aid and CPR training, as well as giving out literature on how to stay safe during the summer months.

At the end of the weekend, a cleanup effort will have volunteers who attended the event pick up any trash left on the beach, to remind everyone that Manta Carlos is all our home and we should take care of it.

The Cross-Cultural Cookout is a canon ICC Event held from Friday, June 23 until midnight on Monday, June 26.
