It was a lazy afternoon; her teachers had cancelled a few of her afternoon classes so Adeloise wanted nothing to do but run along back to the dorms and sleep off the rest of the day but she knew she still had another class before the day ends for her. She wouldn't hear the end of it from Stella if she skipped.

So here she found herself, bored to death while she strolled around on her lonesome. It was one of those rare days neither of her companions went with her to school -- with Adrien saying something like "you don't make enough friends with us around so much" which was obviously not true! She made enough friends on a daily basis.

It got really boring without either of them to talk to though. Olive had classes and so did Erin, Stef was probably with someone else, so she was essentially friendless for the remaining time until her next class.

In the middle of her wallowing, she found herself wandering off into the courtyard. Well, she could definitely make friends if she couldn't have her current ones.

Now lessee...

A particular girl stood out to her, a cute fluffy girl that reminded her of clouds or sheep who was there on her own... was she knitting? How cute! Deciding fully then and there, Adeloise made a beeline for the lone girl ever so careful not to startle her off her groove. Knitting fascinated her somewhat but she could never get herself to do anything that involved a lot of... whatever it is clothesmakers do.

Adeloise appeared behind her, curiously watching her work. "Hey..." she called, making sure not to lean too closely to creep her out. "Mind if I watch you work?"

If people thought that Adeloise was ever used to people getting startled at any time she approached them, she would answer a plain, unabashed 'no'. The younger girl straightened up just as the older one squeaked with surprised, quite startled from the surprise she'd earned from the other. If she hadn't been clinging to the tree, she might have fallen and tripped on its root from probably having stepped back.

Adeloise looked at the girl curiously for a moment, as if she was trying to wrap in her head how her supposed quiet voice could startle a person so much. After a second or two, her blank expression turned into an innocent smile. "Sorry, I didnt mean to startle you," she began, rather poised than her usual with her hands tucked behind her. "I asked If I could watch you knit, if that's okay with you... but I think I kind of threw you off your workspace..."

Adeloise giggled, slightly embarrassed. "Well... I apparently tend to surprise a lot of people to though," she said, trying to explain herself. Honestly there wasn't anything to explain. Whether or not she had a tendency to jump from out of nowhere with people, it would have probably startled the other girl either way. Maybe she shouldn't have approached her quietly... huh. When the girl nodded to her request, Adeloise beamed, almost as if she was glowing with joy.

It was difficult to find a sitting spot if she would honestly but she decided leaning on the tree wasn't a priority so Adeloise decided she would just sit a little next to her, out of her direct line of sight but present in her peripheral vision. She was sitting with her knees folded up, arms hugging them while her face rested on both knees. Adeloise watched her work intently but seeing her fumble a bit with the wool made her wonder if she was bad under pressure. She decided not to talk and just bit her lower lip until the other girl finally got her groove back. Her eyes were mostly on her work, so she never really noticed the gaze on her.

A little after Adeloise noticed she was working steadily, she decided it was a good time to speak. "It's really nice seeing people knit and stuff. It's kind of calming to watch,"she mused aloud though she kept her voice leveled hoping she wouldn't startle her again.

Adeloise stayed quiet for the most part, almost hypnotized when Ai finally fell back into pace, watching how the needles crisscrossed the spun wool into weave. Normally, the bright color of the wool would have made her turn away but something about the motion of knitting kind of made the whole thing a little more distracting. She'd offered a hum when she responded, and Adeloise didn't say anything more until she finished up.

It was like getting out of a dream-filled sleep once the older girl was already knotting the ends that Adeloise could barely register that she was talking again, let alone understand what was coming out of her mouth. Adeloise seemed to stare at the scarf for about a second or two before letting out a quiet 'oh' and blushing just a little from getting distracted."O-oh no, I don't know if I could!"

No lie, she liked the scarf. But she didn't do well with getting gifts from random stranger without any occasion to fill for. Nonetheless, if someone could read her mind, Adeloise was on the side of making sure the girl really wanted to just give away a scarf she made herself rather than any level of modesty. "It's a really nice scarf but would it be alright for me to have this though? You had to have been working on it for a while."
