Guarin had agreed to meet with Lucas again after their first encounter, but he soon realized shortly after that they did not actually exchange contact information. But Guarin was not too worried—it seemed likely that they would run into each other in the community center again, soon enough.

After a few brief trips to the community center for the free books, they finally crossed paths again. He suggested they take a walk, away from the perked ears of everyone else in the community center. They wound up at the park, where Guarin took a seat on a bench.

“Alright…” he said, gesturing to the empty spot on the bench next to him for Lucas to sit as well.

“So what’s on your mind?”
