Versailles was once agian hiding in a back corner of the library, surrounded on all sides by papers and heavy books. She scribbled notes and left them between pages of a book for later as she continued through it. She had likely close to a dozen books, with upwards of a hundred different papers written on, with more surrounding her. The fox-girl didn't even know how long she'd been sitting there in the corner, but she was starting to cramp.

Versailles sighed and leaned back against the shelf behind her, rubbing her eyes. Maybe it was time for a break. She still had quite some time before the paper was due.

Damian wandered through the bookshelves, carrying quite a large stack of heavy books in his arms. Thank god he worked out, otherwise he'd have to lug them all around in a cart or something.

Today the library wasn't particularly busy, mostly just filled with tabletop roleplayers, book club members, and nerds who wanted to get a headstart on that essay the chemistry professor hinted was coming up next week (nerds like Damian). Most students were few and far between, preferring to park themselves at isolated tables dispersed throughout the library. As such, Damian found that he could whistle as much as he wanted, and almost as loudly as he wanted (he just had to make sure no one was in a certain radius that could hear him).

After some time cruising through the shelves and picking up every book relevant to his essay possible, Damian made for the back of the library, book stack hiding everything but his eyes and bedhead (unfortunately. If his book stack could have hidden that he would have done it.)

He turned the corner and stopped immediately upon seeing his usual weekday table occupied by a few stacks of books and a pair of red fox ears. Huh. Not something you saw everyday. Shuffling over to the table and its occupant, who wasn't supposed to be there, he dumped some of his books on the ground, loudly, cleared his throat, and waited.

Versailles looked up as the floor shook with the weight of the dropped books. She glanced around a bit before finally noticing Damian. A quick glance was all she needed to identify him as just another arrogant college student. She wondered, was he here for her, a book, or for the table. He certainly didn't look impressed with her.

"Did you need something or did one of the librarians send you to find me? Also, if you wouldn't mind some of these are very old, don't drop them like that or I'll get the librarians to remove your privileges. This isn't another classroom where you can goof off and do nothing."

Versailles stared at him, making it very clear she took the dropped books as a serious offence.

Damian glared back just as strongly, completely ignoring her anger about the books.

"You're sitting at my table. Which happens to be the one I've claimed since, what, practically freshman year?"

He crossed his arms, nudging one of the books on the ground gently with his foot.

"These books? None of them were published more than 5 years ago. I find that dusty tomes aren't the best for finding relatively new research data. And by the way?"

Damian leaned forward and planted his hands on the desk.

"Not all hot guys like me screw around in class."

Yeah, he didn't care if she was kinda cute, he wanted his damn table back and he wanted it now.

Versailles lifted an eyebrow. Oh how cute. His table. What was this, kindergarten? How was it that some students were still acting like toddlers. This guy was even in the year above her. He was... Something in science. She'd seen him there before, in the labs.

"Cute. Throwing a temper tantrum in the library. Can't say I've seen that from a college student before. Grow up, this isn't highschool anymore. You won't make a good scientist if you refuse to adapt. "

Versailles flicked a hand as if dismissing him as she returned to her book. She was notably reading mainly psychology, with a number of science texts set aside, some of those not even library books. Within seconds she was deep in concentration and wouldn't respond to anything he said.

Damian was surprised. How'd she know he was majoring in science, some sort of mind-reading power? Or maybe they'd come across one another before?

Nah. He didn't recognize those fox ears perched on top of her head.

He watched as she clearly decided to ignore him, nestling deeper within her literal city of book skyscrapers. Scrunching his nose slightly, he snuck his hand through the stacks (read: shoved his hand straight between her and the book she was reading) and stole a couple of pages away from her desk. Notes, perhaps?

Humming slightly, Damian looked them over. Pysch? Interesting. Science as well.

"Good scientists don't give up so easily either, otherwise we'd never get anywhere, don't you think?

Versailles raised an eyebrow and slowly closed her book. Well someone was cocky. The fox-girl lifted her head, propping her head up on tented fingers with her elbows braced on the desk. She watched Damian with a clinical disintrest, studying just for the purpose of studying him.

"If you're really so upset about me having taken your spot I'll be gone in an hour for class. You're right. Good scientists don't give up. Meaning I won't either. You can wait or you can leave, because I'm not moving until I'm done. Are you not in the year above me? I've seen you in the chemistry labs. Act like an adult."
