Lich

Clement stands over seven feet tall with a remarkably muscular physique. His head is the skull of some horned magical beast with glowing light in his eye sockets. His skin is made of animal leathers pulled over a body of bone, wood, and plant matter. His voice is deep and echos from his skull, lacking any discernible accent.

Human

In this form, Clement is roughly five feet, six inches tall with a more wiry body type. He is on the pale side, with sharp facial features and hair that has gone white along the top and is black along the sides, styled into an undercut. His eyes are bright violet and his voice has a notable French lilt to it. His arms are covered in strange, eldritch tattoos that move and shift of their own accord.

In both forms, Clement wears clothing befitting a teacher. Slacks, button down shirts, sweater vests. A very comfortable looking wardrobe. Notably, and sometimes uncomfortably for those around him, Clement laughs in reverse, literally as if someone recorded his laugh and played it backwards.

Clement is a gentleman and a scholar; a dedicated teacher. He loves challenging and stimulating the minds of his students and helping them achieve their potential. Not so secretly, he loves dancing and has a collection of romance novels, from the well written to the trashy.

Clement often tries too hard to not be seen as a dusty, boring old man, which sometimes leads to him letting a situation go on too long and then requiring he steps in and plays the responsible adult in a more serious situation. He is also a hopeless romantic, albeit one who is still thoroughly convinced he is cursed to be alone in the long run.

His memory, while not going out by any means, does tend to get murky when it comes to remembering dates an appointments that he hasn't set multiple reminders for himself about.

Spiritual Helpers
Clement can summon a large number of tiny wisps made of death energy to do his bidding. These are not true souls, merely fragments of the energy released when a person dies. These spirits do whatever Clement asks, mostly menial chores. He cannot summon enough spirits at once to lift an average sized adult, and the spirits cannot hit hard enough to cause any lasting damage.

Clement can shift between the forms of a lich and an immortal human at will.

Runes of Anti-Magic
Clement can make runes that stop other magic. These are complex and thus take time to make. The more specific Clement gets, the more powerful the runes are. Example: A rune against magical location sensing is more powerful that one against divination magic. Several similar runes on the same object stack in power.
Clement has runes carved into his skull that make him immune to mind altering magic, mind reading, and the like.

Passive
Undead/Immortal
Clement is ageless, immune to disease and poison, and cannot be killed permanently by mundane means. Should he die, he will reform in a month's time near his phylactery. He cannot be affected by magic and the like that targets living creatures.

Phylactery
Clement's Phylactery contains his soul and thus is his weakest point. Should the box be destroyed or magic used to remove the soul from it, he will die permanently and cease to exist. No afterlife.

Clement was a monk in Quebec in the early 1600s. He discovered a book of necromancy and began studying it in secret. An accident led to him becoming a kind of lich and fleeing into the forest to hide. Eventually he fell in with a cabal of American mages and studied with them for some time. He taught a brief stint at Harvard, but had to leave when he lost access to the illusion magic he was using to look human. Clement moved to Manta Carlos not very long after the academy was founded and became a teacher.

Recently, Clement took over the Necromancy Department to try and clean up the reputation of its practitioners. He is also the current owner of an ancient magical text known as the Butterfly Dictum. Most excitingly however, he started dating a lovely young woman named Claudia Winchester.

Owns a small apartment with simple furnishings. Tenured professor's salary. Owns the only copy of the Butterfly Dictum, a unique tome of chaos magic.

Clement's Phylactery is a box in his safe deposit box in the bank. He has let the bank know that should he appear randomly in the vault naked, it means he probably died.
