Ciara stands at 5’ 5 ½”, and used to be even shorter before she got horse legs. Despite having a ‘human’ form, Ciara has not figured out how to fully transform herself to look human again, and is always stuck with hooves for feet and black horse ears on top of her head.
Ciara’s hair, which was once black, is a bright blue—not dyed, but changed from magic. She keeps her hair long, and ties it up into two buns to cover her horse ears. Her eyes are bright green, and Ciara swears they seem lighter and brighter after reviving from death.
Ciara has a cute face covered in freckles and a small frame—but that small frame holds a lot of strength. She is muscular and knows how to use her smaller body and speed against those who are larger and physically stronger—especially her lower center of gravity. She isn’t trained in any particular art of fighting, but combines techniques that she’s picked up over time.
In her Kelpie form, Ciara is a massive black horse with four heads, six legs, and rotting flesh falling from the bones of her body. One of her heads is entirely a skull, while the other four are in different states of decay. One side of her torso is heavily rotted away with her rib bones protruding out from what little muscle remains, while the other side is a bit more kept together. She has 3 front legs, 2 back, and one deformed leg that hangs limping from the side of her body.
And yes, her kelpie form does smell absolutely rank. The horrible smell is not too noticeable to the naked nose of a human, but creatures with strong senses of smell like werewolves, dragons, etc may pick up the rotten scent.

PERSONALITY
Don’t be fooled by Ciara’s cute looks…or rather, be fooled, because that’s what she wants. She’s deceptive—making people think she is a sweet girl one minute, and robbing them blind or beating them up with brass knuckles the next.
The real Ciara is loud and abrasive—an angry Scottish girl who will drink just about anyone under the table. When she gets particularly angry, her Scottish accent will get pretty much incomprehensible as she starts to talk really fast.
She is very much a ‘playgirl’ who loves dating women, but struggles with any level of commitment. On the other hand, she is very loyal to the gangs and groups she runs in, but she would argue that it’s a different sort of commitment compared to a romantic relationship.
When it comes to being a criminal, Ciara has two major focus: a. she won’t hesitate to destroy men who assault women, and b. she won’t hesitate to take anything from rich people. She would almost be a Robin Hood type figure…if it weren’t for the fact that she mostly steals for herself. But she isn’t entirely selfish and heartless—she’ll pass some of her goods on if she feels someone needs it more than her.
It's clear in much of Ciara's behavior that she grew up in a poor environment, and it created a lot of habits and quirks. She struggles to take anything that is offered to her for free, even if she is desperate, because she feels like she owes someone. This is actually the typical behavior pattern of Fae, but Ciara was like this even before she was resurrected as a kelpie.
She won't hesitate to dig through garbage cans for certain things--especially pens. She will take the ink out of old pens and save it, because as a child her mother couldn't always afford to buy her drawing utensils.
It may seem out of character for her, but Ciara actually has a lot of artistic talent—especially when it comes to drawing the female form. Of course, Ciara has chosen to use this talent to make extra cash by drawing custom erotica. Drawing boobs and butts is her favorite, and girls in skin tight catsuits. Very little fazes her, and she is willing to draw just about any weird fetish anyone asks for. Just as long as they pay up.
Seeming even more out of character is Ciara's soft side, which for the most part she usually only shows toward children.

Like any other Kelpie, Ciara has both a human form and the form of a water horse. Ciara’s human form is imperfect, and she is unable to hide her hooves or horse ears without the use of a glamour.

As a Kelpie, Ciara has become stronger and more durable than the average human. Despite her small body, she's about as strong and durable as would be expected of a massive bodybuilder.
-She runs at twice the speed of a regular horse. Despite her horse body, she also swims rapidly in bursts of speed the way a barracuda does--to the naked eye she seems to teleport through the water with how fast she is.
-Ciara is able to breath underwater in both her Kelpie and human forms.

Undead Abomination
By becoming an undead monster, Ciara has been granted an extended life span. She cannot die of old age or disease, but can potentially be killed by certain weapons.
She can also regenerate if she is not harmed by her metal weaknesses, but it takes some time for her body parts to merge back together or respawn. If her body parts are close and in tact, within 5 feet of her, then they will quickly crawl back to her body and reattach within very little time.
If they are taken far away before they have the opportunity to reattach or are completely destroyed, then those parts will 'die' and her body will regenerate new parts. This can take anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes depending on the body part. Small injuries, like a deep cut or a severed finger will take 1 minute, while regenerating an entire arm, or leg, or her head will take 10.
If an injury is made by heated iron or silver, they will not be able to regenerate at all. Small injuries will heal in time if given the opportunity, but lost limbs will be lost for good.
Ciara craves human flesh and needs it to function. While she can live off of animal meat for a little while, she eventually has to eat human flesh or else she will start to become mentally less human and more like a feral kelpie herself until her hunger is satisfied.

-Halter: Humans can capture Kelpies if they can get a halter onto the Kepie’s head and it has the sign of the cross stamped into it. Once their head is in a halter, the kelpie will act like an obedient horse and will do tasks for the one who captured them.

Ciara is used to living in absolute poverty, but now she works both as an artist and as a bodyguard in a brothel and actually has money to spend! Ciara also has had no formal education whatsoever, and is reluctant to pursue it at Starlight Academy.
HISTORY
Ciara was born in Glasgow, Scotland to a rough life—an ordinary human, not yet a Kelpie. Her father was an angry, alcoholic man who abandoned the family when Ciara was only a few months old. Her mother was a prostitute who died of an overdose when Ciara was a teenager, and Ciara followed in her footsteps when she got older. Or…tried to.
But Ciara was loud, combative, and had a hard time pretending she liked the Johns she had to work with. It was decided in the brothel she worked in that she was better suited to work as a bodyguard for the other girls. It was a natural fit. She also realized that she struggled so much to sell her body to men because she was only really attracted to women, and often messed around with her prostitute friends.
When the small brothel was disbanded by the police, Ciara decided to hop on a train and head to London before they could get her. After all, on top of being involved with the brothel, she had beat up and even killed a number of men for messing with ‘her girls’, so she knew it was only a matter of time before they tried to get their hands on her. That’s when she fell into Fitz’s gang, getting by via petty crime. She was the muscle of the group, resorting to physical violence when the others’ more peaceful tactics failed. She was also useful in deceiving people, as people are much quicker to trust a cute, petite girl than they are any of the men in the gang.
They were a rowdy group and Ciara got along well with them, and they helped her get back on her feet when she literally had nothing but the clothes on her back.
Then she disappeared.
Ciara was last seen in a bar chatting up a woman and then leaving with her.
By Ciara’s own account, she only fainting remembers a few details of what happened next. The woman was singing, and her voice was entrancing. Ciara didn’t even question as they started heading toward the swamp. Once they were deep in the swamp, the woman was suddenly a massive black horse. Then, nothing.
Ciara was dead for about a year, her half-eaten corpse lost in the swamp. Then something strange happened.
Ciara has no idea how she was revived. Maybe there was some sort of strange magic in the swamp? Maybe a necromancer was experimenting and left before she revived? She has no explanation. All she knows is the ‘magic’ or whatever it was changed the color of her hair to a vibrant blue, which is the same color of magic that appears when she shifts forms.
She had hooves now, and the ears of a black horse on top of her head. And when she realized she could transform, she realized she was some sort of abomination: partially a Kelpie, but also merged with the corpses of other dead horses in the swamp. She was both a Kelpie, and an undead monster…with a taste for human flesh.
Initially, Ciara gave in to her newfound undead kelpie instincts—remaining in the swamp and preying on humans who travelled too far in. When reports of folks disappearing started to spring up, a representative from Manta Carlos was sent to investigate. They found her, managed to talk her back into her right state of mind, and convinced her that going to the island would be the best option. She even said she would consider going to the school—but changed her mind once she reached the island. She fell right back into petty crime instead, getting by mostly on her street skills—but occasionally on her artistic skills, as well. While the representative saw a clear talent in Ciara’s artistic skills, Ciara is only interested in making money the easy way: drawing porn.
