Chionia "Chi" Arore
The tapestry of chemistry / There's a writing in the garden / Leading us to the mother of all

22 | April 27th | Female | Lamia | Teacher | Chemistry--HS and college level

APPEARANCE
Chi has bright blue eyes and burgundy hair. Her lips seem to always naturally curve into a mischievous grin. That grin hides some small but very sharp fangs like that of a viper.

As a Lamia, Chi has the body of a snake rather than legs and the torso of a woman. Her scales are blue, and she has fins that make her adept at swimming. Her snake tail extends 20 feet, which is actually quite small compared to her sisters.

She loves to wear cute, fashionable clothing. Because of her love of belly dancing, she tends to wear clothing that shows off her stomach--but she's learned to wear more conservative clothing around the school. She also always has a lab coat with her name tag on around the school too, mostly so people know she is a teacher and not a student. She's young for a teacher, and she looks even younger than 22. She could easily be mistaken for a high school student.

She also loves to wear lots of accessories, especially necklaces because she used to be unable to wear them at all.

PERSONALITY
Chi is very bubbly and seems airheaded at first, but she’s highly intelligent. She can be rather cocky at times concerning her intellect, always thinking she can find an answer to any problem. If she can’t find one, she’ll use the excuse of ‘I don’t have enough information to solve the equation yet.’

Outside of school she can be very playful and flirty—and considering that she’s attractive and fairly young as far as teachers go, she is…unfortunately one of those teachers that students sometimes try to hit on. But their advances will always be rejected, as Chi has been the student in an unhealthy student/teacher relationship before and wants no part in such ever again.

That unhealthy relationship also made it difficult for Chi to date, despite her flirty nature. While she’s nice to everyone, she struggles making close connections to anyone outside of her family. As a result, it’s typical for people to think she’s just another shallow girl with a pretty face. But Chi is stronger than she seems. When she knows someone is trying to take advantage of her, she won’t hesitant to become aggressive and call them out. She may act silly and childish at times, but she demands respect when she knows she is not getting it. Which, of course, just means that some people think she's just a shallow mean girl, but she'd rather be called that than be taken advantage of.

She can also be mischievous at times, and likes to play silly pranks on her sisters sometimes. She was infamous for being a trouble maker back home, but has calmed down a bit since getting her job as a teacher on Manta Carlos—but there is no denying there is still a little mischief left in her.

She loves to be active, and in particular loves to dance. Where she is from, with Lamia as the major race, a style similar to belly dancing is the norm. She also loves to go swimming.

SPECIES ABILITIES
Speed/Movement: As a smaller Lamia, Chi is incredibly fast and agile. She can slither and swim very quickly, and is able to climb up surfaces like trees and rocky cliffsides using the strong grip of her tail. She cannot go straight up a smooth surface.

Strength: As the youngest and smallest, Chi is not as strong as her sisters in terms of physical strength. She is still stronger than the average human.

Increased life span, healing, and durability: Like the rest of the lamia of her realm, Chi heals from injuries at twice the rate of humans. She can certainly die if pushed too hard, but Lamia are very durable and tough to kill. She has a strong immune system and does not get sick easily unless she is in the cold for a long span of time. The average life span of Lamia is around 500+ years.

Immunity: Thanks to her chemical powers and venom, Chi has immunity to acids and poisons. They may cause skin irritation, but will heal. They will not effect her if consumed.

POWERS
A Tapestry of Chemistry: Chi used to have the ability to do just about anything with chemicals with simply the use of her bare hands. She used to be able to create any chemical she needed from water alone. She could change the state of things—solid, liquid, gas, etc and maintain control of them in her hands so the liquids don’t just pour out of her palm or the gasses just disappear into the air. She could pull chemical compounds from anything—even living things. She could pull the carbon out of another lamia and instantly kill them, for example. She was powerful, and dangerous.

Chi’s powers are not nearly as strong now that she has left her home realm. She can no longer create any chemical from water alone. If she needs a certain chemical, she needs to obtain it or find a compound that includes it and separate it.

She can still separate chemicals from each other with her bare hands, but not from complex beings. For example, she can separate the hydrogen and the oxygen from water or she can change the form from liquid to steam or ice, but she can’t take the carbon or anything else out of a living being anymore. Plants, animals, and of course people are no longer just bundles of chemicals she can separate out. She can still control liquids and gasses in her hands, but can only handle a handful at a time before having to pass them on into a container.

She will get skin irritation if she handles caustic chemicals, and may even burn her skin off if they are handled for too long. As a Lamia, it will heal—but it is still very painful and means she has to work with them fast.

Venom: Chi is one of the few sisters to have venom that she can transfer into someone’s blood stream through her fangs. Not only that, but with the use of her Chemistry powers, she is able to modify her venom to cause different effects.

-Paralysis venom: Allows Chi to temporarily paralyze living beings for up to 30 minutes.

-Pain Venom: Will not kill, but will cause an extraordinary amount of pain for a short amount of time.

-Kiss of Death venom: Can stop the heartbeat in a matter of 10 minutes if enough is transferred into the blood stream.

She can mix the venoms together as well, such as paralyzing someone while leaving them in immense pain.

The Pain and Paralysis venoms are pretty effective if Chi can keep her fangs sunk in for about 30 seconds. The bite for her Toxic venom needs to last for one whole minute, or else it will not cause death. It may break down some tissue around the bite area and cause sickness, but it will not cause death if she is pulled away too early.

Her venom comes out fairly slowly and in small doses through her fangs, so while her fangs could be ‘milked’ for venom, it would be time consuming to collect a useful amount. Plus, Chi is impatient and wouldn’t want to wait around with a jar lid stuck to her fangs for that long.

WEAKNESSES
Full Moon: Just like her sisters and the rest of the Lamia in her realm, Chi is susceptible to the drastic change in her hormones brought on by the full moon. While Chi considers herself a lesbian, as many Lamia do, the full moon brings on an insatiable desire to breed. She would certainly prefer a trans woman or some feminine nonbinary individual with the proper parts, but if such is not around…well, a man will just have to do.

Although smaller than her sisters, Chi is still a potential threat to others when in this hormone-driven state considering her large snake body and strength beyond that of humans. It is ideal that she is sedated during this time—both for the sake of others, and also because the thought of mating with a man disgusts Chi outside of the full moon symptoms.

Cold-blooded: Being a reptile, Chi is of course cold-blooded and becomes very sluggish in colder weather. She will generally avoid going outdoors as much as she can in the winter, and keeps heaters in her apartment, her classrooms, and her office at the school. As much as she loves to swim, she has to be careful in cold water as well—or else she could potentially become too slow to stay afloat and end up drowning.

HISTORY
Chi is the youngest of the Arore sisters. As the ‘baby’ of the family and one of the smallest sisters, Chi has always been spoiled and fawned over by many in her family.

Since she was never as big or strong as most of her sisters, Chi was usually kept in the background when it came to wars over kingdoms in their realm. But even at a very young age, she had a very different use when it came to battle: chemical warfare. The concept of chemical warfare had been around for a long time before Chi was born, but many in their realm would say that she perfected it. She became a very valuable asset, and as such was treated very well in her kingdom.

Of course, she was also feared to some degree. Which was understandable—one touch from her hands, and she could potentially separate a necessary chemical from the body and cause death instantly. As a result, when she was not working with chemicals for combat, she was always forced to wear special gloves with a chain that attached to a collar on her neck so they could not be removed without a key. She always hated wearing those things and knew how people feared her if she didn’t wear them—but at least most of her sisters didn’t fear her. She had a lot of love in her family, and that kept her from getting too angry with her circumstances.

When Chi was 14, she had a brief ‘relationship’ with a much older private tutor of hers named Shari. It was, of course, an unhealthy one and the older woman easily manipulated the much younger Chi. Eventually, there came a point when Shari lost her temper with Chi and physically assaulted her—which led Chi to finally break away from the relationship and Shari was promptly fired. While Chi seems to act flirty by nature, she has not had a relationship since then and is highly cautious of the idea.

Chi tends to make rash decisions on a whim, and shortly after Corsalyn left to find their sisters Aylin and Narraine, Chi decided to go as well. She didn’t know what to expect, but she wasn’t too worried about the possibility of not being able to return home. Chi can be rather conceited at times, and she simply assumed that if she wanted to go back home at some point, she could find a way.

Upon investigating the Academy and trying to find her sisters there, Chi wound up getting an offer to be a Chemistry teacher after displaying her extensive knowledge and powers. She took the job on a whim, because it sounded fun. Since her powers became a little less powerful from shifting between realms, she was also able to throw away her collar and gloves—which made her particularly happy.

She was reunited with her eldest sister, Corsalyn, on the island. She admitted her love to her sister, and Cor initially reciprocated. They were going to be married, but Corsalyn broke it off when Chi admitted that she felt she wasn't ready to become a mother as soon as they were married. Corsalyn ultimately chose her urges to have children over Chi, and left her.

Chi continues to teach at the school, but otherwise feels a bit loss and directionless now.

Apparent Age: 22
Gender: Female
Species: Lamia
Height: 20 feet long
Build: Small for a Lamia, but still pretty damn big

Notable Features: Chi is a Lamia with blue scales and fins on her tail. Her hair is long and burgandy, and her big eyes are bright blue. Likes to wear a lot of accessories.

Physical Quirks: Tongue occasionally twitches out like a snake. She's always clinging to Corsalyn when she's around.

Power Summary:
Chemistry
-Can break objects down to their basic chemical makeup.

Venom
-Has a wide range of venom she can inject into people by sinking her fangs into them.

Reputation: Chi is a cute and bubbly teacher who is very passionate about chemistry, and works hard to make it fun and interesting for her students.

However, Chi hasn't had the same energy she once had. She took a week off from teaching, and came back a bit gloomier than she used to be.

Misc Information:
-Was engaged to her eldest (half) sister, Corsalyn, which is acceptable in their culture. However, Corsalyn was highly eager to start having children as soon as they were married, and Chi eventually had to admit that she was nervous and didn't feel ready to be a mother. She thought Corsalyn loved her enough to accept her despite that, but Corsalyn ultimately left her to pursue men so she could get pregnant as soon as possible instead.
