Snalnntan and Nithnnris, or Snal and Nith are an Opsithapian couple living on the Starlight Space station as a police officer, specifically a member of the Starlight Special Operations Force, under the name Charlie Justice. They also volunteer as part of the biohazard and radiation response team, due to xheir unique physiology.
Snal is thirty-seven Earth years old, while Nith is sixty-four. They are in a life bond with one another, but are open to casual romantic relations with other non-life bound individuals as they study normal Earth cultures.

Snalnntan is a dark, translucent blue with lighter green patterned lines running across their body, which is roughly nineteen centimeters (~7.5") long. Snal has six feelers at either end of their body for sensing the environment an manipulating objects.
Nithnnris is a lighter green color and slightly more opaque than their partner. They have similar patterned lines to Snal's, dark blue in color, running across xheir body Nith is twenty-eight centimeters (~11") long and has four feelers at either end of their body for manipulating objects and sensing the environment.
Snal and Nith mostly interact with others via their hermetically sealed cybernetic biome suits, of which they technically have three. The first two are for everyday wear, and are changed as one might choose which jacket to wear. The third is their SSOF combat suit, which they pilot during emergencies.
Their everyday wear suits are human in appearance, with one being male and the other being female. Both of these suits have reactive synthetic skin and are controlled emotionally, allowing for fluid and natural looking movements and expressions.
The male suit stands at 1.8 meters (5'9") tall with a lean, muscular build and wide shoulders. It has black hair cut short above the ears and angular gray eyes with a long, straight nose. It's skin tone would be considered olive.
The female suit stands at just under 1.62 meters (5'4") tall with a slender, athletic build. It has small breasts and boyish hips. It's hair is black and straight and is cut just above the shoulders and typically parted down the middle. The suit's eyes are gray an its nose is small and button-like.
Their Combat suit appears as a vaguely humanoid form with avian features. It is covered with green colored metal armor, has a pair of wing-like thrusters, and an arm mounted blade-like weapon.

Being younger and therefore less experienced, Snal is wary about the universe and likes to know all the facts before going into a situation. They enjoy reading and watching videos on any subject that interests xhem, but will refrain from making a decision until they are comfortable with the level of data they have collected.
Nith, who has lived a good deal longer than their partner, believes that learning is best done by doing. Rather than reading about the typical social interactions and mores found at a typical dive bar, they would rather just go to said dive bar and experience it firsthand. For science.
Having a life bond together, Snal and Nith share memories and experiences intimately, as their nervous systems are physically and psychically entwined. Though they retain their individual personalities, they make decisions and act as a single entity. This can cause their body to pause while they, out loud of course, debate what the proper course of action is.
The life bond is so intimate that physical damage to one could severely affect the other, all the way up to death from shock.

The everyday wear suits that make up Charlie Justice's body are specially crafted to aid Snal and Nith with their daily lives. First and foremost, the suits have reactive skin that looks and feels like real human skin, but is highly resistant to puncture and lacerations. The skin can also absorb small quantities of chemical substances for the beings inside to analyze. Other than this, the suits can function perfectly well in zero gravity and extreme pressures. They require six hours of charging to function properly, and a full battery can usually last around twenty hours before needing to be recharged.
The Combat Suit provides Snal and Nith with a greater degree of protection from the outside world than their standard suits. It's skin being actual metal, it can take hits from low and medium caliber gunfire as well as low energy laser weapons without too much trouble. The suit also boasts superhuman strength, able to lift an average pick up truck under normal Earth gravity and toss it up to twenty meters. It slso has near perfect omnidirectional movement capabilities in an open space.
The suit's main weapon is an arm mounted sword that, when charged, can split in half to act as a railgun. The projectiles fired from this railgun accelerate to several times the speed of sound rather quickly and cause devastating damage. This weapon takes several minutes to charge up, and firing the weapon causes the suit to shut down due to insufficient power.

Opsithapians are a sapient species that superficially resemble Earth sea slugs, though their bodies appear to be almost viscous and transparent. They also have several sets of feelers at each end of their bodies, allowing for more complex interaction with their environments. They are hermaphroditic, and breeding involves simply sloughing off and mixing of genetic material. They speak via vibrations through their body, giving their voices a slower, bass quality.
Highly intelligent in general, many believe that the Opsithapians were ascended to sapience by some progenitor race. Many Opsithapians would agree with this hypothesis. They are generally very small and physically weak however, and require constant near submersion in order to function properly, which is why they usually go out in a biome suit.
Opsithapians can feed on any matter, breaking it down into base components and using those reactions to fuel their body processes. They are even able to ingest toxic and radioactive materials, making them useful when dealing with hazardous substances and the clean up of such.
An Opsithapian can survive in the void of space for up to ten hours without any kind of protective gear by going into a kind of hibernation.

Snal and Nith met while working together on a case on their home planet. Snal was working as an intern in the xenolinguistics department of the ministry of investigations, while Nith was a mechanics operative handling all of the equipment pertaining to the case.
They worked together and hit it off rather well, working on the case even after they had clocked out.
It was a total of two years working together before the case got blown wide open and the culprits were identified as a raider group called the Vultures. The culprits were never caught, but even figuring out who committee crime was a success in Nith's feelers.
Once their professional work was done, Nith asked Snal to spend more time together on a more personal level. Snal agreed, and the two of them began what most Earthlings would call dating.
Nith asked pretty early on into the relationship if Snal wanted to life bond with xhem, but Snal wanted to wait and see how the relationship worked before moving to such a drastic step. They stuck together though, and three Earth years later found themselves intertwining their nervous systems and becoming one.
