Event Private Catching a Christmas Bug

It was Fulger's first Christmas ever and he was excited. All the ~~yummy~~ pretty lights hung up everywhere and people getting gifts to give. In fact the only thing he didn't like was all the cold and the snow outside. Even inside, here in the nice toasty cafeteria, he was bundled up as he sat at a table kicking his little legs back and forth.

The slip had said to be there around this time to meet his secret santa partner so Fulger had climbed out of his bed and scurried over even though he was still a little sleepy. Next to him on the table was a small messy bundle of an object that had clearly been wrapped by the child's own hands as the paper was crinkled and messy and far too much tape had been used when it didn't line up right.

The boy yawned wide and blinked his green glowing eyes around the room, looking for who he was supposed to meet.

Kasper wanted to get into the holiday spirit and make friends. What better way than to join this secret Santa event? It seemed a great way to get to know people, and hopefully have a good impression as well. He had always enjoyed the Christmas season, but being a Celestial Guardian meant he had even more of a reason to get people to like him this year.

The boy he was getting a gift for was a bit younger than him, and a demon apparently, but he'd asked for comics, so they might have something in common. Kasper hoped the boy liked what he had picked out. He'd even had it wrapped at the store because he didn't trust his own wrapping skills.

He didn't actually mind the snow, but he was only human, and glad for the warm cafeteria. Once he entered, he looked around for someone matching the description. His secret Santa partner certainly stood out. Even if the bug boy wasn't the most outlandish thing on the island. Kasper waved at him with a smile, holding the present up slightly. "Hi, Fulger, right? I'm Kasper. I don't think I've ever done a secret Santa like this before. What about you?"

Fulger looked back at the older boy with his big eyes, wider still because of the pretty wrapped gift he was holding. "Hi, i'm Fulger," he offered shyly. He wasn't great at meeting new people, and he kept glancing worriedly at a table of girls nearby. Like he was afraid they were going to suddenly attack or something.

"Umm, I haven't seen winter before," he answered after thinking for a moment. He'd hatched less than 8 months ago. But Kasper probably didn't know that, he had to remind himself. "Nope, this is my first holiday present ever!" Inside the little kid was a war between being nervous about being around new people and pure childish excitement about the holidays.

He held his own poorly wrapped gift between himself and Kasper like a sort of shield to hid behind. He wasn't ashamed of his gift though, he thought he had picked a really nice thing to make for the other boy. Make, rather than buy because the little piece of paper had said homemade. Also the snow had pretty much kept Fulger inside for the most part. Shopping was dangerous when he could easily freeze and die in that kind of cold weather.
