A boy passed Marian was she faked preening in front of her phone screen. For a moment, she thought they had locked gazes for just one split moment. Did he though? Or was he simply looking over her out of curiosity. He did seem to have the same physical qualities as 'Fuse' but she can't trust this school if they had shapeshifters. But what were the chances that this one person who curiously glanced at her wasn't that Fuse? There were other students of course, but none paid her any mind. She didn't see where he'd gone, and she decided not to care. No one was following her too apparently. Or maybe the one following her had gone ahead to fool her? Haha. Nice try. Marian pocketed her phone again, continuing on her track while her gaze wandered about, trying to look for a familiar figure. She found the boy she met glances with leading by the wall, eyes glued to his phone. He wasn't waiting for her, was he? A smirk tugged at her lips. I have my eye on you, piccolo, she almost says to him as she walked right in front of him. The shade stayed on guard, most of her focus already from the shadow she cast behind her. If he tails her, she would know by then.

She saw me. An alarm rang in Jaxon's head.

He had accidentally looked at her, just for a moment, but it might have just blown his cover. Maybe it was harmless, but what if it wasn't?

A while back, Jaxon had heard about Soviet spies that could look behind themselves without any signs that had shown they did. If that was human skill, then what could she do?

Maybe he needed an excuse? Yeah, that seemed the best.As he put his phone in his bag, he pulled out a five dollar note and pretended to pick it off the ground where she was standing.

With 'justified stalking reason' in hand, he continued to follow her. If he was confronted, he'd feign shyness, and say little.

Marian had missed Jaxon's ploy as he pretended to pick something off the ground, but she was sure enough that he had no reason to follow her after that. Her items were all secure, and if she had dropped anything in her tracks, she would know. And it was so easy to pick it off herself without even moving a muscle on her body now that she had better control of her abilities. This only made her suspicions grow. Was he Fuse? Perhaps. Who else was following her right now but him? Marian suddenly stopped in her tracks, spinning on her heel to face the boy who was following her. She gave him a sweet smile, completely different from the sneer she'd given him earlier on in their confrontation by the lockers. As she spoke, her voice was soft, as if she was worried about being cornered for a reason she wasn't even aware of. "Sorry, I couldn't help it... but you weren't following me, were you?"

Wow, If he didn't know who she was, He might have believed her smile was genuine.

"W-well, um, yeah. I was, sort of." Jaxon shakily answered, holding up the note that he 'found' earlier. "I think this is yours. I-I mean, it might be, I saw it right after you passed me. If it's not, you can take it if you w-want..." He rambled on for a little bit, justifying how a "shy kid like himself" would take it upon himself to help someone else and not just pocket the cash.

Fool, he thought to himself. Shut up. His Superhero voice wasn't that much different from his regular voice, just a little lower in pitch. Even with his stammer and fast pace, she might still recognize it.

Marian noted he had a similar tone to Fuse but the air the boy carried seemed a few degrees off when he'd confronted her; even so Marian couldn't shake off the suspicion. If he was Fuse and he's pulling this sort of trick to hide his identity, then two could play at that game. Marian was no stranger to secret identities, and it was certainly nothing new to her to pull an innocent smile after committing any questionable acts. "Hm?" she hummed looking at him with a surprised look before appearing to search her pockets, making sure not to let any of her loot peak out as she pulled her hands out from them. "I'm sorry but I don't think that's mine?" she said, the pretense of concern mixing through her voice. Feigning innocence was so easy for her nowadays. The only person she knew could see through it was her brother; but even then it had taken him months to read past her lies. She held her hands in front of her, her fingers touching as she fidgeted about -- a favorite mannerism to fake. If he was keeping up this masked identity stuff, so will she. "Maybe someone else dropped it before I came by? I don't think I should take it, if that's the case... Would you like me to help you find who dropped it?"

Clever girl. Jaxon thought, quoting a movie he saw a few years ago. She was definitely good at acting. He was tempted to believe that she was actually concerned and wanted to help, but he really did see her take something.

"Ah-uh, no p-problem." Jaxon stammered. "You can if you want." More reason to follow her around.

If this was going to be a challenge to see who breaks their character first, Jaxon was not going to lose. She wasn't just going to get away with whatever she took. "Do y-you know where we can s-s-start?"

Marian smiled sweetly. Tooth-achingly so. The boy would have easily noted that since he was sure of her crime. Yes, Marian was guilty, but she wasn't about to admit that so easily. Not especially since the boy wasn't being very direct with her. Maybe she'd have considered openly admitting it if he was a little more forward, she thought for a moment. But the game was set; both of them weren't planning to be direct, almost as if they've quietly agreed on the game of who would last longer in this charade. Marian wasn't about to lose either -- she'd been playing this game for years. The girl hummed thoughtfully, "I think... most people who come here are from middle school so whoever dropped it shouldn't be far," she stated. Sure, they definitely wouldn't be far. Marian was almost sure that he was her guy and if that was right, he was just setting her up. "B-but are you sure you want me to help? I might just get in your way..."
