Nyota looked down to the offered soft drink and gave him a frown when she looked back up.

"Errr... hold onto the for me will ya? I can only do so much with one hand here." she stated as she head up the phone for him to see, then pressed a button and put the device to her ear.

"Hello? Yes can we have a cab come over to pick us up by... ummmm.... River Stone Avenue? Which one? Ummm... the one that was in a foreign language? You want me to spell it out for you? Ummm... yeah. Hold on I'm going to have to get my friend to do that."

Nyota holds her phone out to James to take.

"Hey look, apparently there is like... there streets named River Stone in some other languages so I need you to spell out the original word street name for him. I am going to need you too do because you had me to do it we would be her all night."

Nyota then smirked a bit as she waggled her phone to him.

"So... how about I trade you my phone for that soda now?" she asked in a playful manner.

He mentaly kicked himself over his thoughtless action, "sorry."

He smiled playfully as she waggled the phone, "oh I dont know, I could probably drink both of these." He wiggled both sodas at her playfully, "maybe in exchange for your candy?" he asked playfully.

He chuckled and exchanged the soda for the phone, he put the phone to his ear and spelt out the word, "they said fifteen to thirty minutes." He patiently waited for Nyota to finish her soda before giving the phone back, "lots of people running around, must be a busy night fir them."

Using his shadow tentacle he tossed a piece of candy into the air, leaning back he caught it in his mouth, he'd always had good cordination and agility, "I guess Christmas is coming up next. I wonder if it snows here?"

Nyota rolled her eyes at James, as if she would ever trade her share of the candy to him... over her dead body. While James worked on giving the street address, Nyota took the moment to drink her pop. Once James returned and offered her phone, she quickly chugged the rest of the fizzy carbonated beverage and tossed the empty can behind her. Yeah she was littering but she wasn't above breaking a few rules.

"Ah, we can wait I guess. And jeez I hope not. I hate the snow. Trust me... there is nothing worse than shoveling snow from the driveway." commented Nyota as she placed her phone away and looked out to the late night streets.

There was a little question that was bothering her thought that she had her mind on it.

"So... soda is it? God... feels dirty when I say it. Where I come from we call it pop. Like... why do you call it soda? Doesn't pop make much more sense? Like... how the bubbles "pop" in your mouth? Like... how is that people get the word soda."

He couldn't help but chuckles at his friend's hatred of snow, "it never snowed where I'm from, too warm I guess." He took a sip of his soda and smiled, "I kinda want to see a bunch you know...just once."

He closed his eyes and smiled as a cool breeze hit him, "wonder if this island has any unique holidays the rest of the workd doesnt have? It's going to be cool to finally celebrate Christmas."

He opened his eyes as the cab finally pulled up, he smiled and open the door for Nyota, "well we have Star Trek and a surgary feast to get to it."

"And once is all you need. Trust me, the novelty of snow wears off quickly. Who knows... I'm guessing we will learn about those holidays as the school year progress" commented Nyota as she eyes the taxi that approached them.

As James opened the door to the cab for her, Nyota lifted her bag of candy from the floor. Once she had hopped to the far side of the cab, she slide the bag of candy into the middle seat.

"Yep! That we do! So get in already dork!~ I don't know what half of these candies that I got are but you can bet your behind that I am going to try them." mused Nyota as she grinned at James before looking out to the dark city streets.

He grinned back and slipped and slipped into the cab, "thanks for coming with me tonight, I had a great time." It may seem strange, a teenager thanking a friend for going trick or treating with them, but it had all meant a lot to him. He'd never had any friends before.

He told the driver to take them to the school and they pulled away from the curb, he smiled Nyota again before turning and looking out at the city. This strange city. It had taken him coming to a city populated by the supernatural to gain any sense of normality. It had taken him getting a evil parasite latched to him to gain a friend, and despite it all, he thought it was worth it.
