Gernet slithered through the forest, tail lashing in the snow, both in an attempt to keep warm and because he was fuming. Unlike the human following him, the naga was shirtless - clothing would not help much since he had no body heat to keep in, and he couldn't afford heated clothing yet. And since the Arores had discovered he was actually a naga, he had no reason to cover up the runes.

The lamia thieves were why he was here. He'd been hiding, using the glamour, not mentioning Morgul while they paraded their bitch goddess around, and then he had been minding his own business, not attacking even though he had every right to, when that little lamia had insulted his god and tried to make him leave. They all wanted to keep him in the dark - but he was free here. At least, sort of. There were still more of them than him, and he hadn't figured out who was in charge, but he knew their laws were powerful, with tame dragons and food just walking around like it was nothing.

But - he had found fireworks boy. He looked damn good for a human and he was warm and told stories. Perhaps their worlds were different, but the redhead seemed as close to home as anyone else he'd met so far. Maybe Gernet would even bother to learn his name at some point.

Other than saying, "Let me show you something," back at the park, Gernet actually hadn't explained where he was taking the boy. He often didn't think to tell, and even though his altar wasn't that far in the Forbidden Forest, there was still enough dangerous creatures here to make even the snake wary. He knew that his large size wouldn't protect against every threat. "It won't be far. It's in a cave... I won't eat you - humans don't taste that great." He wasn't going to say thank you, but he was grateful, even if he was lacking in social skills.
