Alex loved parties, he always had, but this party was different, it was a celebration. A celebration of his girlfriend's birthday, and it was her first real party in general, so he wanted to make it memorable.

So there was everything one would expect in a big party, food, music and of course drinks. Drinks of both the alcohol variety and the non alcoholic. Alex had made the decision to not drink, to stay sober, enjoy being with Val.

So there they stood, his arm around Val's waist, the party in full swing. The fun chaos surrounded them. Turning his head, he stole a quick kiss from Val, "happy birthday."

This was possibly the biggest and loudest birthday party she had ever been to. It was really surprising that all this was for her. She was new to it. Although, admittedly she was kind of in shock. When Alex said there was going to a birthday party for her, she expected something more quieter, but she was willing to give this a try.

It would be a great thing to end the day with since the morning started out great with some very special quality with her dad. The first time in 26 years that the two of them were together on her birthday! It was a shame her mom wasn't there. There was always next year, the way she saw it.

Feeling Alex steal a kiss, she chuckled. "You really like doing that, don't you?" She nuzzled her head against him. "You didn't have to do all this, you know. There's so many people."

Grinning he wrapped his arms around her, "I wanted to so something special for you," he looked over at the party, "you've been amazing Val, and I wanted to show how much I appreciate you."

Stealing another kiss, he took her hand and started leading her through the party, "I used to go to parties like this all the time, haven't been to one in a while." He grinned at her, "but this one is all yours."

They stopped in front of the food and drink table, he grabbed a soda, despite being underage, he could have drank alcohol, but he didn't want to. "Help yourself beautiful," he wanted to make sure she enjoyed herself.

"Parties here are normally really big then?" she'd ask.That was amazing! There was a little tint of jealousy at the back of her mind. The parties back home just didn't even compare in scale. And to think, she of all people had this big of a party. It was like she won the lottery or something!

But along with that thinking, she felt a bit guilty about not having her mom and dad here. She was sure they'd love this.

When she was brought to the food table, her eyes widened at all the food that looked so good. Where would she even start? A lot of the food there, she was familiar with, although she expected for them to taste a little different because they might be using some special ingredients, but after seeing some types of food she hadn't had yet, she started with those, and grabbed a cup of fruit punch, which she didn't know had alcohol mixed in. When she drank some of it, she noticed a strange taste, but thought that it was from the fruits bobbing in the bowl.

"These taste great!" she'd say to Alex.
