Arnaaluk was glad to learn about getting a new roommate ever since her previous roommates moved out for various reason. She didn't mind having the dorm to herself but it did get lonely at times. But instead of someone moving into her her dorm, she was instead being transferred to this girl's dorm so she had spent much of her free time packing up everything into some big old luggage cases. Though she didn't have much in the term of personal belongings, between her clothes and crafts there was a lot to pack up. Everything else was just tossed into the backpack she was wearing. So now she was wandering down the halls with stuffed backpack and two suitcases wrapped under each of her arms. Sure it was quite a bit of stuff but such but she was strong enough to carry such burden comfortably.

Arnaaluk only knew some details about the girl from the staff. Basic stuff such as what her name was, her species, grade and gender of course. Otherwise she knew little else about her. But she was sure that she would get to know what a great person this Hwum is once they spent a bit of time together. When she finally stood outside her newly assigned dorm room, she set all of her belongings by the door. Arnaaluk then knocks three times on the door and called out to her roommate should she be inside.

"Hello? Anyone inside? This is your new roommate Arnaaluk. Just wanted let you know I am now here with my stuff. Is now a good time to come inside?" Arnaaluk called out on the other side of the door. While she had the key to get inside, she wanted to give whomever might be inside ample warning that she was here. No need to accidentally surprise Hwum.

Hwum had been informed that her new roommate would be moving in today, and she had tried to stay awake for that. But she had completely accustomed to her nocturnal lifestyle, and thus Hwum had fallen asleep on the couch while waiting for Arnaaluk. That was a really unique name, even on Manta Carlos, and Hwum was very excited to meet the person it had been bestowed upon. Excited, and a bit hesitant and scared. Hwum's last roommate had met an unfortunate fate, and she was still sad about it since he had liked Broen. But Hwum wanted to be able to move past that experience and not let it taint this one, because having a roommate had been fun. Hwum didn't like being alone, and now she wouldn't have to be alone.

Hwum was woken up from her slumber by the sound of a knock. Thankfully she was a light sleeper and didn't sleep past it. Hwum flinched awake, and upon hearing the words said on the other side on the door she jumped up from her seat. The apartment was pitch black, since Hwum could only see in the dark, but before she went to the door Hwum opened the blackout curtains that were on the windows. That made her vision drop significantly, but Hwum knew the apartment well enough to get to the door in under a minute, stumbling just once on the way. And when Hwum opened the door and got blinded she had a wide happy smile on her face. Her glasses were a bit crooked and she had bags under her eyes but otherwise Hwum looked presentable.

"Hello! Nice to meet you, I'm your new roomma-"
Hwum began with a friendly tone, but stopped when she "saw" how big the person standing in front of her was. Hwum was blinded by the light from the hallway, but her tremor sense picked up a very large figure, that was humanoid shaped but had a...tail? It seemed like a tail. And Hwum had to tilt her head almost all the way back so her eyes would more or less meet Arnaaluk's.
Hwum was aware that she was short, but suddenly she felt a whole lot shorter.
"Ancients, you're very large. Oh, but you must already know that, I'm sorry. Please, come in."
Hwum let out a small embarrassed laugh, and stepped away from the door so Arnaaluk could come in. She considered warning Arnaaluk to watch her head, but she probably heard that a lot and could handle herself. She wasn't Hwum, after all.

Arnaaluk could hear some rumblings going behind the door and there was a little bit more light passing under the door. Then the door swung open and there stood a young lady whom look as if she just got out of bed greeting her. Maybe she just did but that wasn't the sort of thing she was going to draw attention to. But as Hwum paused with her plesentries and exclaimed how large she was, Arnaaluk couldn't help but chuckle a little. She was used to the exasperated expressions people would have upon marveling at her large size or her striking coloration but it was fun to see how genuine her roommate's reaction was to her.

"That I do though I didn't realize how big I was until I moved here. It is great to meet you too new roommate~" cheekily commented the whale lady as picks up her things and instinctively ducks her head and enters the room. She looked back to make sure her tail didn't knock over her roommate upon entering room. Now inside, she puts her luggage and backpack along the wall. She takes moment to examine her new room before turn around to properly introduce herself to her new roommate, squatting down so that the size difference between isn't as vast.

"My name is Arnaaluk Tartok, but you can just call me just by Arna if you like. It is great to meet you! Since we will be living together, we should probably tell each other a bit about ourselves? I'm sure we both have plenty of questions for each other now that I am here."

Now Hwum realized why the ceilings on these dorm rooms seemed to be bit taller than normal. It was so large students like Arnaaluk could be accommodated more easily. Hwum had lived underground most of her life and more often than not the space was rather snug.
"Don't worry, it's very impressive. And I'm very used to living around people that are larger than me."
Hwum answered and closed the door once Arnaaluk was in, looking out for the tail that she could sense was there. Hwum gave Arnaaluk time to take in the room, having a friendly smile on her face the entire time. And the way the bigger girl squatted down to be considerate of Hwum was very touching, and made Hwum's smile bit wider.

"Yes, once again it's so nice to meet you, Arna! I'm Hwum, Hwum Roch'Der, and you can just call me Hwum. I have never really had a nickname."
Hwum chuckled a bit, and then blinked a bit when Arnaaluk suggested they tell each other a bit about themselves. This was new, Broen had been a very withdrawn roommate that appreciated his space, perhaps having a fellow sociable roommate could be nice.
"That sounds wonderful. Well, um, I'm an earth dragon, and I can only see in the dark. I can sense vibrations through my feet so I can more or less see obstacles and people even when I'm blind. And you are my second roommate yet, I'm very excited to be sharing this apartment with you."
Hwum explained, and at the end gave Arnaaluk a small grin.
"Oh, and if you have any restrictions or conditions or such that would make you more comfortable please tell me, I want us both to be as comfortable as possible. And what can you tell me about you?"

"Ah, Hwum. Its lovely name now that I hear how your name is spoken." chimed Arnaaluk as her roomie introduces herself. There was something so pleasing about the way one hums Hwum name out loud.

It was cool to learn about how Hwum was an earth dragon as well as taking about bit with how they sense vibrations with their feet in order to navigate. The way why they describe it is almost like how she uses her echolocation in murky waters or during a snowstorm.

"Oh you are?! I do not believe I have ever met an earth dragon before so that would make you the first then! And they way you describe using vibrations sounds a lot like I get around using my echolocation." mentioned Arnaaluk as she looked around and realized how well-lit the room was considering how she just told her she can only see in the dark. Given what was said it just occurred to her that Hwum might have trouble actually seeing her right now. She thought about bringing it up but held off as Hwum asked what conditions she should know about.

"Oh! Well when it comes to my diet its almost entirely meat. I hope that that fact doesn't bother you in any way. As for restrictions, well I have trouble seeing some colors.... or at least telling the difference between things such as blues and greens or purples and yellows. I also can't smell. People have tried to explain me what it is but... I still don't understand this sensation I am apparently missing. And.... uhh.... err..." Arnaaluk gets a bit nervous, pausing for a moment as if debating to say something. After her quite deliberation she sheepishly continues. "... I am... a bit ticklish. I know that sounds silly but its serious condition for my species so please take this seriously. So please don't try to think that your funny and suddenly tickle me without warning. Because I might accidentally hurt you... or accidentally kick through a wall... again."

Now that she shared that slightly embarrassing detail, now was the time to ask Hwum about her conditions she thought was a good time ask about Hwum's

"So...I think that is the most important conditions you need to know about. What about you? Do you have any sort of conditions I should about you? You mentioned how you can only see in the dark. Speaking of which should we close the curtains over there so you don't cause to strain your eyes? I can see perfectly well with my echolocation if you like to keep our dorm dark."
