Back from a very long holiday

"Yeah..." Vince thought for a moment on how to word this. "I didn't want to tell you because I'd thought you'd worry too much. Look what I got myself into." He breathed in. "I was attacked by someone on my way to where we were meeting. Some guy... I can't remember his name... he just punched me. His arm didn't feel that natural. It felt metallic. Then... I couldn't remember anything after that until I woke up... I must have been knocked out. I looked for you after... but you were already gone." Finally, you told the whole story. Everything's gonna be fine now unless she yells at you again.

:You'd thought I'd worry? You hardly know me!" Ember was mad, but she couldn't help but feel slightly flattered or something that he was concerned about her. She studied his expression, trying to figure out of he was telling her the truth or not. But she just couldn't tell. "You could've gone to my dorm room." She didn't yell at him, but she was still partially mad at him, for various reasons.

Ember wandered her gaze around anything that wasn't Vince. She looked from the other students to her tray to the picture on the floor to...wait a minute. Ember looked curious and quickly slid off her seat and retrieved the photo. It appeared to be some sort of factory or something.

Vince did not notice that Ember took the photo. "That's the thing. I tried to get to the dorm room, but I couldn't find you... plus we'd be breaking rules and I didn't want to get into trouble." As soon as he heard those words come out of his mouth, the memories of their first meeting came back. He completely forgot why he was going out with Ember in the first place. That hug... when he was thinking about his grandmother... when he was crying... she was there for him. Snap out of it. She's got that photo. Vince just noticed. He wanted to grab the photo off her, but that wouldn't help him in his current situation. So instead he said quietly, "I was hoping nobody would see that. It means a lot to me for some reason." That familliar feeling of stupidity - the one he first felt when he met Ember - came rushing in as soon as he asked that question. "It was taken during the holiday."

Ember was sick and tired of Vince's lame excuses. What a coincidence that he was in fact trying to find her but couldn't and was afraid of breaking those poor rules. She simply rolled her eyes at him and continued to study the photo. "Whatever. I'm tired of listening to you pathetic excuses."

She looked up at him when he mentioned the photo. "This is your photo?" Why would some stupid picture of a factory mean so much to him:? Who knows? And Ember sure didn't care. She was in a horrible mood. She still didn't even know why she was still sitting there talking to Vince, but she was. "Why wouldn't you want people to see it? What's so special about it?"

What's so special about the picture? Vince struggled to find an answer there. "I don't know... it just seems sorta... familliar. Like I've been there before or something. Except that was the first time I was there." That, of all answers, had to be the lamest he could come up with. No way could a guy just feel at home in a random factory. But that feeling did come up when he looked at that photo. He finally had the courage to take the photo back from Ember and stood up. "I'll... see you." Vince said hopefully, though that hope was fading fast.

Ember just sat there silently listening to Vince. He really needed to learn how to give excuses, because she wasn't buying any of them. She remained quiet, not sure at all on what to say to him. There were so many mixed feelings inside her that it made her not think straight.

She didn't hold her grip when Vince snatched the picture from her hands, but she thought was a very rude thing to do. When he stood up, so did she and picked up her tray. "Maybe," She said and left to go put away her tray and leave. But as she did, she added, "...when I'm dead."

((I'm gonna start a new topic in the towers if you want to continue))

When Vince turned away, he heard Ember's words. "Maybe, when I'm dead." He knew one thing was for sure. It was definitely his fault that Ember was in this mood. He didn't want this to happen. He didn't want to leave... but he couldn't stay. He wanted to try and cheer Ember up, but not after the drama that came up. A tear flowed through his cheek, but this time he made sure Ember didn't see that. He ran out of the cafeteria quickly. If there was one thing that could cheer him up, it's practising both of his powers at the roof. He had to be in the worst mood of his life right now.

((OOC: That's ok by me ^_^))
