Attempting to Read

Marvin walked into the library, green hair drawing many surprised looks as he passed. Going into the history section, he pulled a large, almost giant, tome off the shelf. Setting it on a table, Marvin settled himself down to read the history of the world, up until about 500 BC. After just a few minutes, Marvin eyes became unfocused. He blinked and shook his head.

Marvin had read the same page about a dozen times without taking in any of it. He shook his head violently, sending his green hair flying into his eyes even more so than usual. After another couple of minutes, Marvin began beating his head on the table. The book forgotten, Marvin continued to beat himself with a loud thump every time his head hit the table.

Tiger walked into the library humming "She's a Rebel" by Greenday and saw a guy banging his head on a table. She headed over over, hand on hip.
"So, um, any reason why you're doing that, or is that just your idea of fun?" She raised her eyebrows a bit. "Sweet hair, by the way," Tiger told the guy. "I wish my parents would let me dye mine!" She sat down across from the guy, still humming. She pulled out a notebook and began writing the lyrics on the back. She's a rebel, she's a saint. She's the salt of the earth and she's dangerous...

((OoC: The "She's a Rebel" thing was kinda random but that song is stuck in my head!!!!!))

Marvin looked up. "No, its not my idea of fun. I'm trying to read," he said, indicating to the tome. "But I can't. I keep getting distracted by all the computer data. I'm Marvin, who are you?" He added as an afterthought. "And the only reason my parents let me dye my hair is because I almost died. So they pretty much let me do whatever I want." He explained, shrugging.

"Er... computer data. Right." Tiger had no idea what he was talking about. "I'm Tiger." She recalled his last statement. I almost died. "You almost died? How, if you don't mind me asking? Or are you one of those people who get all angry or depressed or violent when someone brings up your past?"

"I don't really care. There's a big difference between almost dying, and actually dying. But my parents don't really get that, you know? My sister does though." Trying to figure out a simple way to explain what had happened, he began slowly, "Well...I just sort of got sick, you know? Anyway, my brain was shutting down, just like that. So I got this computer implant thing to reboot it, and here I am. Medical miracle, walking computer." He shrugged. "It's no biggy, really. What about you?"

"Awesome. Medical Miracles always turn out to be interesting person," Tiger said, gesturing towards his green hair. "Er... what about me? I didn't almost die..." Tiger was confused. "Ohhhh! Do you mean about my powers? Hmm... I'm really not sure. I guess I was born with them."

((OOC:I have calibrated all my characters onto one account. I am indeed the same person.))

Marvin nodded.
"Yeah. But what are they? I mean, what are your powers? I've got an implant, so what about you?"

"I have weather powers. I can make it rain, snow, you name it. I'm really bad at it though... it's so annoying. It's so hard! I am not a patient person. I talk to fast for that. Am I talking to fast now? I think I am. I'm going to stop for awhile." Tiger took a breath. Why did she always do that? She just talked and talked and you could barely understand her, she went so fast. Tiger made a mental note to herself: Stop talking fast!

"It's okay, my sister talks really fast all the time. She talks when I'm trying to sleep! But I can understand. Uhm...do you have any siblings?"
