God damn high school rules.

"Hah, well geez, that's heckin' disappointing." Yojo said, feigning a smile as he rubbed the back of his head. Internally though, the boy felt an intense frustration as he stood there in front of Kon. Why couldn't he bet let to fight? Why did being a student have to get in the way of all the dangerous things that he felt alive doing? A long and internal groan filled the boy's mind. Well, it was worth asking, at least he could still see grown men try to pummel each other like any civilized society would.

"What were you going to say?" He asked, curious enough to want to hear more. Actually, the more he thought of it, the more there was to learn about the enigmatic announcer. "Konpeitō, that's Japanese. My grandmother is from Kyoto so I feel like I have to ask." He said with a small nod.

"I was going to ask you where you lived, but that would be very inappropriate. I opted to give a generalized answer instead." Just explaining it felt awkward enough. He didn't want anyone passing by to think he was making the moves on someone so young.

"And yes, Konpeitō is Japanese," he replied, surprised that the focus was on where the name was from and not what the name meant. "I 'lived' in Osaka before coming here, but I stayed inside the house most of the time. I was too inhuman to go out. Most of my knowledge of Japan comes from the internet." It was better that he skipped over the actual reason he stayed inside.

Huh, what? Why would asking that be inappropriate?

The announcer's protests flew right over the teen's head, a look of confusion still on his face. The only weird thing was that he was a student, or so he thought. Still, at hearing the confirmation to the teen's hunch, a small smile crept up onto his face. "I thought I recognized it well enough." He said with a small nod, "I never learned Japanese that well growing up, my sisters were always better at it than me. Everyone I knew spoke English anyways." Yoshihiro said with a shrug. There'd been many a night when his lack of eagerness to learn had caused him to butt heads with his father... That all felt like such a long time ago now.

"I guess it would be hard to walk down the street for you back then..." Yoshihiro thought, looking the man over as he paused briefly. He'd never had to deal with that, save for the occasional racist prick in the suburbs... Actually, maybe he and this non-human had more in common than he thought.

The teen waved his hands dismissively, "Eeeeeh, fuck 'em. That's what I say- pardon my language." He said, trying to wave the negative thoughts and feelings out of the air. "I'm curious though. What was Osaka like?- What you can remember about it, that is."

Kon laughed. "Oh, this isn't even my normal form. I'm a shape-shifter and this is my professional form. My other one... and the one when I lived in Japan, was very out there," he clarified.

"I don't mind the language, but I don't think it's fair to say that. There's the Veil and all that. Anyway, when I said I never left my house, I'm being very accurate. I never explored Osaka, but I did leave the house on rare occasions to places devoid of people."
