"She doesn't deserve to see you." This was hard, she knew from experience, when the scouts had removed her from her adopted mother's custody. "Seeing her....it'll just cause you more hurt hon."

The cat shifter would look at her a moment. "If....if you have to see her....do it supervised..get a counselor," one of her cat ears would twitch nervously. "You can't trust someone who's hurt you like that."

She didn't want her friend to get hurt anymore, she wanted her to be safe and away from that pain.

Evangeline was silent for a moment, pondering Shiro's words and attempting to process what she wanted to do. Perhaps her friend was right - maybe her mother really didn't deserve to see her after everything she had put her through. However, just thinking those words filled her with guilt and anxiety, and the more she thought on the words in that letter the more she felt obligated to go.

"Maybe... maybe I should, yeah..."

She then rubbed her temples and heaved a sigh, still trying not to cry. Even if she didn't know what to do just yet, she felt better having gotten all that off her chest. Shiro was here, she was making things feel better, and that meant everything to her.

"Thank you... thank you just for listening. It... makes me feel a lot better."
