Ross was crossing the lawn, a book in his hand, and a cigarette perched precariously at the corner of his mouth. Unlit, as always. He had no intention of doing anything today worthwhile. He pushed a lock of dark hair back, and contemplated not even going to class.

Mimosa was also crossing the lawn, but she was speed-walking. She bore her now usual expression of determination, born from severe hurt. Her long, dark curls bounced as she walked along, with a book clutched under her arm.

As she sped passed him, Ross look up. He was not a poetic man, really, but he could not help but think how beautiful she seemed, no matter how angry. He wasn't realy romantic, but he began to follow her.

"Hey! Hey, wait up!!" he called, making her stop in her tracks.

She turned back. "Yes?" she asked, with virtually no emotion. "Is there something you want?"

"Yes! I mean, uh..." he stuck out his hand. "I'm Ross."

She raised an eyebrow at him, but did not take his hand. "Ross what?"

He fumbled. "Ross...just...Ross."

She rolled her eyes, and looked at the ground in disbelief. Her eyes wide, she shook her head, and strolled on.'

"Wait!" he yelled again. "Isn't it only poliet that you tell me your name?"

She stopped, now a couple of meters away, and turned breifly. "Mimosa. You'll get the last name when I get one." She turned back then, and walked off.

Ross stood for a moment, then followed her. Going to class was looking pretty good right about now.
