And old dock, new memories?

Shasta sat on the dock her legs hanging over the edge, just a little ways away from the water. She hummed to herself as her hair stirred behind her in the wind. She was clad in a aqua bikini top and a pair of jean shorts.
She hummed to herself an odd tune and smiled. She swung her legs back and forth as the sun began to set over the water. The reds, oranges, pinks, yellows, and blues spread out over the water and the scene was a gorgeous mix of color, smell, and feeling. She hoped that this night wouldn't have to end, even by herself she was contented to enjoy the scenery.

Danger'd been swimming for quite some time beneath the surface. He didn't know what he was looking for, or why he'd decided to swim here, but he had. After swimming for quite some time, he swam beneath the docks, then pulled himself up onto the dock, and uttered a small sound of surprise. It was more like a very fast, quiet grunt, and the surprise ceased as quickly as it had come. He nodded to her with a grin, reaching behind her to pick up his shirt. Probably, she'd missed it, but he didn't really care. "Well I suppose this is supposed to be awkward.." he muttered in his low, strangely accented voice, before slipping the t-shirt over his torso, which showed definate signs of all the work that he did. His feet were bare, but he hadn't brought any shoes. He liked walking barefoot.

He eased himself down beside her, and his bland brown eyes searched her face for a moment, before a grin of recognition lit his face as he pushed his blonde hair out of his tanned face. "Shasta, right?" he asked, cocking his head to the side.

Shasta heard the grunt but didn't move. She felt someone move behind her he spoke, an accent came with the words, one that she didn't recognize. The form sat down next to her and she smiled when she saw him. She waited a moment before answering pulling her legs up onto the dock and hugging them against her body.
Yup, that's me. Your name is Danger. I promise I'll try not to fall anything harzardous this time. she said with a small chuckle. She pulled a piece of hair behind her ear and flashed him another smile before returning to the view. She melted into the moment, not noticing him or the dock, or the water just the sky and it's beautiful array of colors.
Gorgeous...isn't it? she said, half to him, half to herself.

Danger glanced at the sunset and dipped his head in agreement. "It's even more amazing from the crowsnest..." he trailed off, and for just a split second, a piece of sadness washed over him with the relization that his ship was at the bottom of the ocean. He quickly got himself under control, and the sadness disapeared, leaving behind what he was going to describe. He closed his eyes to remember it even more vividly. "The clouds would range from vibrant gold to dark dark purple, the water all around the boat on all sides would glow golden with the light, and it would last for hours on end." He opened his eyes, as though pulling himself out of a daze, and grinned at her. His words had softened as he spoke of the beauty of the sea, but he returned to how he'd been a moment ago. "Have you ever been on the sea?" he asked her in a spur of the moment after thought.

Shasta closed her eyes and imagined the scene he described. She felt as though she was there, looking out on the golden water, feeling the salty spray against her face. She wind blowing her hair, his crew mates and him standing around enjoying the same amazing experience with her.
She snapped back to reality when he asked her a question.
No, I've never been out to sea. Never had the chance. she said sadly. She loved the water but her mother was far too scared to let her do anything with it. Her mother had nearly drowned at the age of nine and her brother had. She wouldn't let Shasta anywhere near it when she was around. She'd never even been swimming in the ocean, and now that she had the chance she found herself too scared to try.

Danger smiled lightly. "Well, if I ever get my ship back, I'll have to lend it to you or something of the like." he said smoothely, with a grin, moving away from her to shake his head like a dog, sending water droplets flying everywhere. Then he returned his gaze to the fading sunset. "There's nothing as amazing as a sunset in the middle of the sea." he remarked, half to himself, half to her. He smiled, shifting his position so that his feet were dangling off of the edge of dock, into the cool water. He drew a small whistle out of his belt, and placed it in his mouth, producing a small, beautiful, if not piratish melody, as though to sing the sunset to sleep.

Shasta smiled and listened to his song. Then had an idea.
Why be afraid? She scooted back on the dock and stood up.
Taking a run forward she jumped into the water and remained submerged for a few moments enjoying the feel of water coursing over her body, the salt water started stinging her eyes though and she swam up. When she reached the surface she let out her breath in a gasp and smoothed her hair back.
Well...that was fun!
