An Inkling Of Fun

Asteria giggled as she swung herself from tree to tree, hopping from one branch to another and doing fun spins or flips as she did. She had bare feet, her bright red shiny shoes were in her pink little backpack with wings on her back. She had tied her purple and white dress' skirt in a knot on her waist, and she had put on her gym shorts under the dress just for this. Now she could play Tarzan all she wanted, and the objective was that she couldn't touch the ground. Well, Asteria had her own version of lady Tarzan, because unlike Tarzan she was dressed very nicely and her movements were more graceful. Or at least that's what Asteria told herself. In reality her hair was full of sticks, leaves and small trash, the bottoms of her feet started to look dirty and her dress had definitely seen better day. After all, it had only been bought yesterday. As for her movements, Asteria tried her best but she couldn't help but slip or knock her elbow or forehead on a branch now and then. What? She was learning.

Asteria landed and crouched on a branch and sniffed the air. She could smell a larger body of water, the lake. And when the wind blew she could also distinguish another scent mixed in, though she wasn't sure if she recognized it. Asteria was only half-vampire and sometimes had trouble separating scents from one another. But in any case she smiled and kept hopping ahead, still staying loyal to her game and avoiding the ground.
Asteria soon saw the glimmer of water through the branches and stopped for a second to awe at it, it was so pretty. Just like her glass jewel tiara back at home, the one Budbud didn't let her wear for her games outside. Bit the glimmer was disrupted when someone swam across the water, and Asteria kept going. Now she was curious. And kinda wanted to swim.

Asteria stopped in a tree just at the edge of an open area and saw a blue boy get out of the water. Asteria had seen him before and recognized him. She digged in her backpack and pulled out her shoes and sunscreen. After slipping on her shoes and putting on a new layer of sunscreen Asteria stood up on the branch she had been squatting on, and jumped right out of the tree and landed near the blue boy.
"Hi! What are you do-?"
Asteria's sentence was cut short when she accidentally landed funny and tripped right on her face in front of blue boy.

Asteria pushed herself up after just laying on the ground for a couple of second, chuckling a bit. There were blades of grass on her face and they tickled her. Asteria remained on her knees on the ground and looked at the blue boy with a sunny smile as he came to help her.
"You're so nice, thank you. But I'm fine! I'm tough."
Asteria flexed her tiny arms giggling a bit but she stopped and looked at the blue boy a bit surprised and, a second later, panicked when he got covered in black stuff.
"Oh gosh! Are you okay? Did I do something? I'm so sorry! Oh, wait!"
Asteria fumbled with her backpack and pulled out some tissues and wet wipes, offering them to him.
"Um, use these, if you wanna. Budbud always makes me carry them. Are you hurt? Should we go to the nurse together?"
