Allan Sovereign

5'9 tall, short unruly blonde hair, bright gold eyes, pale skin, usually wears jeans, a shirt with a tie and a brown coat

Despite his still young age, Allan has seen the worst mankind has to offer, its made him very aware of both the good and the evil people are capable of. Overall he comes as a normal guy, friendly, with a funny side with some snark and wisdom thrown in for an interesting mix. He's the kind who enjoys his beer and smokes after a day of work, just a normal guy. Underneath this is a man with a mission, fight evil where he can, and protect those he can. A mission that sounds simple but Allan understands that its often more complicated than that, so he's pushed himself to the limit, learning all he possibly could in his field, learning of detective work and and how to combat possessing entities. His dedication has left little room for a social life, though he does desire to have one, he ultimately believes that that his work is more important, though he secretly hopes someone will prove him wrong. Allan is Catholic, or more accurately a lapsed Catholic, he still believes and even sometimes prays, but the things he's seen has made it difficult. All in all, Allan is a good man, dedicated to a unique line of work that very few would choose.

•Active:
Spirit Expulsion: Allan was born with with the ability to expel spirits from people and locations through the mothods below. He's also able to sense when a person is possessed.
-Holy Light: A light that causes pain overall weakens the spirit/entity. The light comes from his eyes, so it requires him to be looks at the possessed person, eye contact often increases its affect, and the closer he is to the person while having eye contact the more affective it would be. He can also release it in varying levels if intensity. It can fully exercise weaker spirits, but it normally takes more to do it.
Limits
-Eye Sight: As the light comes from his eyes he has to be looking at them, his eyes being covered would block it.
-Possessing Etity Only: The Light only affects entities that are possessing a person/place.

-Direct Combat: In which he forms a mental connection with the person and directly combats the entity in the persons mind.
Limits/Weaknesses:
-Range: The person has to be in close proximity, the same room or similar distance.
-Permission: While the possessed person doesn't necessarily have to give permission to do it, it does make things easier. A mind that refuses the help will actually hinder the process.

-Banishment/Containment: Once the spirit/entity's connection to the person/location has been broken, Allan will be able to either banish the entity from the mortal world (to whatever realm they'd go to, purgatory, hell etc.) or they can be contained if a containment object is available. Allan buys small enchanted boxes for it. He banishes them by using his holy light directly on the spirit as the entity will manifest before him after being exorcised. Some entities will be naturally invisible, if so they'll take a temporary visible form, others are always visible when not possessing a person or place.
Drawbacks:
-Mental/Emotional Damage: Fighting an possessing entity is dangerous business for both the possessed and the exorcist. It can go wrong in a number of ways. If it goes wrong both the possessed person can suffer emotional/mental damage from it. The risk of failure depends of many things, the strength of the entity and its hold on its victim.
-False Pain: Depending on the nature of the possession and the strength of the entity's hold on the person, the possessed might feel false pain caused by the light, the light isn't actually harmful to them, but the entity at times causes them to feel the pain in an attempt to make it stop.
Limits:
-He can contain/banish the entity at any time after expulsion as long as the entity stays around the person/place it'd attached itself to. If it attaches itself to anything else or leaves then another exorcism is required, though the entity will likely be temporarily weakened after the first.
-Escape: While its incredibly unlikely for the entity to repossess the person/place they were expelled from, there is a chance the entity can escape if not contained or banished fast enough. They'd have to reenter their normal invisible spirit form to do so.


•Passive:
Mental Abilities: He has a few abilities based around his mind, extra sensory abilities and similar abilities.
-Language Understanding: He can read and understand any language, including supernatural one, like those solely used for spells and other magical purposes.
-Angel/Demon Detection: He's able to sense the presence of demons and angels, its a short range ability. The beings would need to be in the same room or of similar proximity.
-Supernatural Learning: He can learn things at twice the rate of normal humans.

•Works as a detective, as such be has a decent income that varies depending on how many cases he gets, also gets paid when removing spirits on behalf of the police.

Ancient Times:
-Angels and Demons, Heaven and Hell, constantly at conflict though mankind is largely unaware of it. A hidden war for the souls of man.
-Among the soldiers in this war, was Andurin, an angel was protection, who particularly protected children and a demon named Raith, who targeted the weak, possessed them, took their lives, his favorite targets were children.
-These two beings were mortal enemies, their goals naturally brought them into conflict. An eternal rivalry of sorts, one that could be traced back to the dawn of man.
-In their missions, the two would take human form, Andurin could naturally take such a form, Raith possessed and stole bodies and lives.
-Over time, they both grew to love being among mortals, though for different reasons. Adurin loved mankind, despite their flaws, being with them became a source of joy for him. Raith enjoyed the suffering of mortals, but he became addicted to being on Earth, so he'd do anything to avoid returning to hell.
-So they secretly fought while living among the mortals, fought for the souls of mankind, one protected, the other destroyed. Good, evil and the poor souls trapped in the middle.
-It seemed an endless battle, during which they both found lives among the humans. Andurin a protector, Raith a violent criminal. Even when living as men, their roles remained largely the same.
-But there was a difference, Andurin could remain among them forever thanks to his human form, Raith had possess new people as his host aged.
-So their private war continued, back and forth, defeating one or the other, always returning from their home realm to continue.
-Then Andurin finally seemed to find a permanent victory over his ancient for. He trapped Raith in an enchanted bottle and hid it away. Mankind seemed free from the demon.
-Andurin, with his mission complete, made an odd request to heaven, he wished to be made, human, mortal. He wishes to join the people he'd grown to love. His wish was granted.
-So, he was made human. He married, had a family, lived a happy life, grew old and died. So ended the story of their silent war.
-Time passed, the story of the angel and the demon became myth. A story to be told and retold, a thing of the past.

Modern Times:
-Allan Sovereign was born in the U.S. city named Ashton. His parents were poor and Ashton was not a pleasant, it was infested with crime and violence.
-So Allan grew up among the harsh conditions, he learned from day one, that the world was often a very unpleasant place. Men were often cruel and selfish, he saw examples of this daily.
-Then one day, when he was thirteen, things got worse, the cruelty of man decided to affect him directly. An act of random violence took his family, a man broke into home and killed them. The man would have killed Allan too, but as he tried there was a flash of light, the killer screamed and ran away.
-Allan didn't know it, but he'd used his powers for the first time, for the killer's actions were not his own. They were of an entity that had taken his mind.
-Shortly after Allan found himself in a small and failing home for orphans in the city. He was often in trouble, got into fights, struggling with his anger, at himself and at the world. He had an urge, and itch in the back of his mind, that he should be doing something.
-A few years passed and the orphanage failed, the kids scattered and Allan ended up on the street, fighting to survive, to get out of the city.
-Then one day, when he was fifteen, he was attacked by a mugger. That mugger was the man who'd killed his parents. During the struggle, Allan's powers fully emerged, it was a terrible fight, but in the end, the entity was defeated and banished.
-Allan's eyes were opened to larger world, where myth was fact. Now Allan could've killed that man, but the experience showed him that his family's death weren't his fault, and the man had no memory of it. So he let him go.
-Ironically this man reported Allan, believing that he'd been attacked by him. Allan was arrested, he ended up in juvie, or rather that city's terrible version of it. While he freed fellow inmate from an entity.
-Manta Carlos began hearing rumors of unusual events happening around young Allan. So a scout was sent and be was brought to the island.
-He went to school, he graduated, he made himself a home among the supernatural. Becoming a detective and a state licensed exorcist. He'd found his purpose, though him and everyone else remained ignorant of something, Allan was Andurin reborn, and angel at his core.
-His path was set, destiny has chosen him. The secret war would continue.

-He became a State Licensed Exorcist at age nineteen, as a SLE he's recognized as a professional in the removal of spirits/demons/entities from people and locations, and he's open to aiding the police when needed.
-Has a smoking habit, and drinks often, though very rarely gets drunk.
-Has a number of religious symbols and medallions which could be useful in his work, though his current ones hold no magical abilities and will only affect entities if they have a weakness to them.
-Has a doctorate dealing with possessing spirits, and took several other classes during with the supernatural and detective work.
-Has a lighter with a very minor enchantment, it has no need for fuel and always lights.
