Name: Agave
Known Widely As: Feral Child/Feral Girl
Age: 19
Birthday: Unknown, estimated at May 4th*
Gender: Female
Species: Jaguar Shifter
Sexuality: Supposedly Hetero, but it seems to be more fluid than anything
Religion: Undefined Animatism
Category: Student
Class: High School**

Appearance Description:

  • Short; probably between 4’9” and 4’11”, but no one has been able to keep her still enough to check
  • Well-proportioned and fit, but also quite curvaceous
  • Very thick, dark black lashes
  • Vibrant light green eyes, but the long pupil is slit-shaped, much like a cat’s
  • Slightly pointed canines on both jaws, but not too sharp or obvious looking
  • Long, thick hair, trailing to her waist. It’s very soft, a bit like fur, and has natural volume and waves to it. Dark brown in color, with a few streaks of black, caramel-auburn and golden-brown mixed in. Usually messy and wild, though not terribly so
  • Darker skin tone; something of a medium-light, almost golden-tinged warm islander; Example of skin only
  • Has medium-sized, dark brown freckles clustering evenly over the bridge of her nose. They slowly get both darker and slightly larger as they dabble across her cheeks, ending up bigger, a bit sparser and dark black as they taper out around her cheekbones.
  • Large black jaguar-type rosettes positioned evenly across her skin, though not too many, as well as a few smaller spots scattered to even it out. These jaguar markings begin to grow smaller, more clustered, and more solid and spot-like as they approach extremities (often beginning to change at knee and elbow joints), and none are located on fingers or toes. Her stomach, underarms, and inner thighs are free of the rosettes. Meanwhile, smaller, clustered rosettes trail over her shoulders and across her collar bones, stopping just after said bones and not meeting in the middle. Her throat, breasts and other areas of her chest are, as such, free of rosettes as well.
  • Instead of human ears, has a pair of jaguar ears located just a very little bit above where her human ears would be. These are not as decidedly large and pointed as common cat-shifter ears, but still stick out over her hair. Also has a long, thick tail jutting from her backside. Both have ordinary jaguar markings and colorations… and both are very fluffy.
  • Small nose; heart-shaped face; plump lips; lightly distinguished cheekbones; overall, she is cute, yet undeniably fierce in her air and beautiful in her own way
  • Generally loathes clothing and must be forced to wear it. Normally speaking, adamantly refuses to wear anything more than capris and a tee-shirt, though less is usually preferable. Agave DOES have some exceptions to this, though, in the form of the protective fingerless gloves she can often be seen with, as well as comfortable, soothing materials, etc. Does like shoes, though, at times, because they cushion her feet from dangerous ground cover.

Personality Description:

  • Though called feral, savage and uncivilized by many, is still very human, with a huge capacity for thought and emotion, as well as a distinct personality beneath her ruffian appearance. However, she does still have her eccentric quirks.
  • Very outgoing, usually, but is also quite intense
  • Generally doesn’t mean any harm, but some may mistake her intensity for hostility or worse
  • Will try to eat anything before realizing it is not food
  • May consume it anyway
  • Favorite food? Meat. Though she’ll eat many… many things, her favorite food is the broad category of ‘almost all meats’
  • Often eats much more than what would seem possible for her tiny size… and then ask for seconds. Possibly a result of high metabolism and jaguar attributes
  • Will most likely be caught hunting animals in the woods
  • Probably will not listen when told to stop this
  • Will most likely be caught hunting people, as well
  • Definitely will not listen when told to stop this
  • Can make a freaking awesome fort
  • May mentally assess people for their physical attributes, etc, and think of others with her tribe mentality
  • Calls couples, mates, as marriage and dating are foreign to her

  • Very… very stubborn, as well as independent
  • Has a bit of a particular grudge against being told what to do, and may lash out if it persists
  • A bit brash, eccentric, and intense, as said before, but rarely is purposefully hostile
  • Socially awkward, in a way
  • Usually very friendly, though she does this in her own odd way
  • Pretty likable, if one can get past her general strangeness and wild nature
  • Also very blunt and generally doesn’t sugar coat
  • Will lie, though, and is surprisingly adept at it, considering who she is
  • Very curious, and very willing to investigate things that catch this curiosity
  • Enjoys climbing and high places, though she likes the water more
  • When swimming… [author sighs heavily] she often refuses a bathing suit. Be careful when offering to take her to the lake.
  • Is extremely fond of the outdoors, and gets anxious if inside for too long
  • Prefers open spaces to small rooms, unless they are ‘dens’ and forts outside
  • Relies much on emotion and gut instinct, as she feels both of these very strongly
  • Though, if need be, she can formulate plans and is actually a very skilled hunter
  • Does have a very protective side, and will defend her beliefs and her loved ones at even the cost of her life
  • Some call her incredibly stupid, but others, incredibly brave
  • Feels a need to protect and nurture ‘cubs’

  • Often a fearless individual, jumping into situations she wishes to jump into without much thought beforehand
  • However, she has an unshakable fear of guns and other “modern” weapons, safe for the bow and arrow, which she is incredibly skilled with. Is okay with some knives (and could possibly grow used to nerf guns).
  • Does not understand modern technology and society
  • Is fascinated and terrified by technology, and still doesn’t understand the concept of ‘cars’
  • Also does not understand the human species as a whole, especially the modern ones
  • However, she has an incredible understanding of animals, especially felines, and enjoys their company thoroughly
  • Many times, she has chosen nature and animals over her human counterparts
  • Considers humanity a very cruel and selfish race, with some exceptions of course, while she finds a sense of family amongst animals
  • Generally has her guard high up, time in the jungle conditioning her to remain constantly alert
  • If startled, she often lashes out, and violently
  • Does not trust others until they show they are not dangerous to her; she may like them, act friendly, but this doesn’t mean she trusts them in the slightest
  • Takes betrayal very seriously, and earning her trust back after it is broken is even harder than earning it in the first place
  • Is a very tough girl. She has a high pain tolerance and can withstand a good battering, physical or mental, if need be
  • Still, is haunted by her past, despite her carefree demeanor. Often struck with nightmares and left unable to sleep for fear of the images returning.
  • Longs for attachment to others in the form of familial bonds (or otherwise, though romantic love is foreign to her). However, her whirlwind of a personality intimidates many potential friends, and with her past experiences with love and tribal teachings echoing in her brain… Agave is skeptical of acting on her urges
  • Despite being taught not to love, Agave doesn’t actually know what it is. To her, it seems like a debilitating condition, something akin to a disease if it is allowed to flourish, that makes a person foolish and far too dependent on the one that they so adore. However, the signs of developing love and what the emotion really entails are foreign to her, and she wouldn’t be able to recognize them if she tried. Agave truly doesn’t know what love it.

Species Traits:

  • Can shift into the form of a jaguar
  • Despite her tiny human size, the jaguar is only slightly smaller than fully grown, average-sized, natural female jaguars, with their eyes the same color as their human form.
  • Superhuman abilities work in this form as well
  • Very sharp teeth and claws

~NOTE~ This power group is considered a spin-off of her jaguar shifting. In other words, these are passive powers that manifest even when she is shifted into (semi-)human form, and they are linked directly to her shifting power – hence, why they are listed as a sub-power beneath it.

Strength is very high. Agave can be considered to have super strength, able to unroot small trees, but not lift cars over her head or anything ridiculous.

Speed is heightened considerably. Agave is able to run at up to around 45 miles per hour for shorter distances, though she must decrease her speed a bit if the run is longer. Her absolute top speed as a human is 50 miles per hour, though this takes a considerable amount of effort on her part and can’t be reached for even remotely long stretches of time. She can run at 50 mph for about a mile before having to drastically decrease her pace, or stop altogether if she tries to go over a mile.

As a jaguar, her speeds are increased due to the animal’s natural ability to move faster than a human. Their natural top speed is 64 mph for short sprints.

As a feline-type shifter, Agave’s agility and flexibility is naturally increased. This is nothing spectacular – no superhuman, rubber-body feats – but still notable. Agave is easily able to scale trees, perform flips, and even hold both her legs behind her head. She also has that cat-like talent of falling easily onto her feet, even when jumping from very high places.

Smell and Hearing are both heightened to that of a jaguar’s natural abilities. She is able to track prey animals through forests (even when it’s raining, though only for a little while then) and hear voices from much farther away than an ordinary human.

Body’s durability is increased in proportion to the enhanced strength and speed, in order to protect her body against self-harm. Her skin is very tough and harder to penetrate than the average, though her bones are much stronger in comparison, and it takes more effort in order to injure her. Ex. A sharp knife will cut her, but not as easily as it would an average mortal. She also won’t break her legs, for example, when leaping from high ledges (though common sense would be used here - no jumping from 100 feet and being totally alright). Agave is also able to endure more damage and pain than usual without collapsing, though this is not an extraordinary boost and she definitely isn’t immortal by any means.

Powers:

~This entire group of power aspects is considered semi-latent in the sense that Agave does not know they exist and cannot use them at will. However, they have a chance of manifesting in certain situations, and some (such as her passive willpower) linger as lasting side-effects at all times.~

Undying Will (Passive):
Undying will when faced with opposition. Her spirit can’t be broken completely by physical attacks, though it can taper with time, and it is hard to change her mind with anything except convincing verbal explanations (that she understands). Basically, this power allows Agave to hold onto some sort of hope even in the most hopeless of situations. Her determination can never be completely crushed, and when driven, she will always get back up when knocked down. It's nearly impossible for her to give up, ever. As far as physical evidence, this passive power manifests as a constant buzz of energy and determination, as well as a slight pain buffer, that exists even when Agave is at her most fatigued.

Deafening Roar (Passive/Active):
Agave is able to raise her voice into screams of almighty proportions. Though it can be used outside of battle in the form of loud yelling (as in, much louder than a human her size should physically be capable of), it is most effective during a fighting moment – at that time, it may be mixed with a roar to create an intimidating battle yowl. At the moment, the sound is painful to the ear, but not deafening.

As far as her battle yowl semi-passive power goes, she does know of this power, but doesn’t think much of it. Agave is unaware of having the Amazonian Spirit power group itself, though, and so she attributes her occasionally deafeningly loud voice to the fact that she is… well… Agave.

Protective Will (Active):
Only manifests in battles and high-tension situations – especially those she fights to protect something she loves/believes in.

Will can manifest in the form of a large humanoid-jaguar warrior that surrounds her, something like a shield. It is in a very raw form at the moment, unstable and weak, but training could improve this. At the moment, all the spirit can do is cause a slight burning sensation on the skin of attackers who dare touch the aura. Really, it functions most on intimidation for now, as it’s scarier than it is powerful.

In the future, however, the aura could potentially gain a sort of durability to it. It would then act as a semi-solid force field, slowing down approaching attacks (both magical and physical types) but not stopping them completely. It's burning sensations could also potentially increase. However, training this power takes time and considerable effort, as well as a controllable trigger to make it manifest in the first place.

Agave is unaware of the existence of this power, as it is passed only down the Matriarchal line of her tribe (as far as they know) and is rare in that even still, and she had left the tribe before it could be explained to her. It has only manifested once.

Biography:

  • Grew up in a matriarchal, uncontacted tribe in the amazon rainforest. Tribe was known as the M’akalao. Further details will be listed later, giving tribal systems and culture, etc. They were all jaguar shifters. Agave was the daughter of the leader.
  • First hunt as leader when 10 years old. Deliberately disobeyed rules when prey escaped over a border, ended up getting her three party members killed and herself captured.
  • Was left behind by tribe, as the cost of getting her back would be too high, and because she brought shame to the village by disobeying the laws. Kept as an all-purpose slave until age 13 by rival tribe.
  • Age 13, sold to a criminal who had escaped into the amazon. The price was several fine pelts and ‘alien’ weapons/clothing that seemed to be more durable. Man’s name was John Rockworth, and he was from America.
  • John was a criminal, but he did not think of Agave in a perverted way as her old captors did. He mainly kept her for servant-type work, etc. Changed as time went on and Agave couldn’t help but show curiosity over his strange customs.
  • John taught her to speak English after much deliberation. Over the years, he showed Agave how to read as well, and he educated her on some of the greater parts of modern civilization. She still speaks brokenly and forgets words, still has trouble with many modern customs etc, but it was a good basis.
  • Around age 18, John was captured by officials. Agave escaped and went into hiding for a while, initially very distressed by his leaving but eventually accepting it. She simply explored the world alone for a time, before eventually stumbling upon a real town.
  • It was absolutely nerve-wracking for Agave, seeing lights and cars and strange things that were all very, very new. For several days, she hid in the forests and in alleys when she dared to explore. Finally, she got lost completely, and hid herself behind a building. A Starlight Academy scout found her hours later and offered her a home at Manta Carlos, which Agave took, tired of being confused and alone.

Additional Information:
*Birthday was noted to be at the end of the Amazonian wet season, but not the very end, and so the convict she travelled with ended up estimating and picking a birthday for her.

**Agave is not in any particular grade, but attends multiple classes in an accelerated format. She’ll be starting college late and is currently trying to get up to speed with the rest of the general populace.

She speaks with a thick accent, one that is implacable but not unpleasant at all. Agave also often speaks in broken or choppy English, as she is not yet fluent. She can understand it better than she can speak it herself, though. Last but not least, she is fluent in her original native language – one that is decidedly musical – and is semi-fluent in another, somewhat rougher one from her days in captivity.

>>> Agave is coming for the cheerleading squad. Get ready guys.
