Adjusting to Dorm Life

Liliana took a seat in one of the chairs as she listened to Mr Finch talk about his world. She was not quite sure she truly understood everything, it seemed as surreal in a way as if you told someone beyond the Veil that monsters and magic did exist.

"If there were superheroes and villains, didn't they have powers too, and if they had powers, wouldn't that be considered supernatural in some way?" she asked somewhat fascinated by the idea of a world full of superheroes and villains.

"Do you mean magic abilities?" Liliana asked, "Like fire abilities or ice?" she said, "I can make weapons, or other objects from the vibrations around us... but I don't think that's heaven or hell," she replied with uncertainty, looking at Finch a little confused-like.

"Do you mean flying or moving magically, like teleporting?" she continued, trying to understand the differences between supernatural and just abilities. To her, they were all sort of the same thing, weren't they?

"Ohh..." Lilina said quietly, now starting to understand. "Earth, this place here, is similar to your world but exaggerated to a greater extent, like on steroids or juiced up," she stated thoughtfully. She was surprised if that was the case. She knew the island was different to the outside world but not like Mr. Finch was implying.

"I am not sure, but a lot of the people here on Manta Carlos are also from other worlds and dimensions, and that might be why everything seems more extreme than it might be at times," she said with a tiny, uncertain frown. "Although, to be honest, I have never thought about this before," she confessed.
