Name: Adalae Bonnie Ward
Age: 20
Birthday: June 11th
Gender: Female. She, her
Species: Siren
Category: Citizen
Career: Mooch
Appearance Description:
Adalae would be considered by most to be classically beautiful, largely due to her being a siren. She has wide, sapphire blue eyes set into a feminine, soft featured face complemented with full, pouty lips. More often than not her face is framed by a mass of wild, fiery red curls that fall down to her waist. She is seen rarely wearing her hair pulled back and to see it that way usually means she is taking things seriously for once in her life or it’s a formal occasion.
As far as physique goes she is not overly busty or curvaceous but has enough to work with and enough to catch the eyes of potential suitors. However, her beauty is found primarily in her facial features (if nowhere else). Her skin is a warm alabaster (marred only slightly by a faint smattering of freckles across her nose and cheeks) and she has a faint golden shimmer to her complexion, not dissimilar to the way a fish’s scales shimmer when catching the light. She stands at a less-than-intimidating height of 5’6” and is overall of slight build.
When it comes to clothing and personal style less is better as far as Adalae is concerned. The more skin exposed the better. She knows she looks good and she wants to make sure everyone knows it as well. She has a particular fondness for rompers and tends to stick to darker jewel tones or earth tones. She doesn’t tend to bog herself down overly much with jewelry, wearing only the bare minimum. Her preferred type of jewelry would be chokers but she is not adverse to a simple chain and pendant when the occasion calls for it. She has a particular fondness for lingerie and saves most of the space in her dresser for her extensive collection.
In her siren form Adalae looks much the same as she does in her human form but her legs are replaced with a fin. Her fin is covered in scales that shimmer from red to gold as the light hits them.
Personality Description:
Species Abilities:
Shapeshifting
Adalae can shift into her siren form at will. She has no limits as to how often she can do this but it is not overly comfortable and doing so out of water would be a very bad idea. Losing scales from her fin is akin to losing skin from her legs and will transfer to her human form.
Underwater Breathing
Gills located just behind Adalae’s ears give her the ability to breathe underwater. They are open while in her siren form only and while open she cannot breathe air. While in her human form her gills are sealed shut but a “seam” of sorts is still visible and considered a physical weak spot.
Sirensong
Adalae’s voice will draw and attract those around her. She can use it to temporarily hypnotize but only beings that would otherwise be naturally attracted to her already. She can control when and who is hypnotized by her song so long as they have the predisposition.

Biography:
For the better part of her early childhood, Adalae lived a relatively uneventful life. She was the youngest daughter of a single mother who worked hard waitressing to scrape together a living for her three daughters, all conceived out of wedlock. It was when Adalae was five years old that things began to get interesting.
It started with the arrival of three strangers to her house. The largest of which, Tariq, admitting that he was, in fact, her older sister Evalyn’s father. This was exciting in and of itself because none of the girls had ever known their fathers. In fact, they hadn’t even been sure their mother knew who their fathers were.
However, the most exciting part of the whole ordeal was Tariq’s wife, Saniyah, offering Isidora a job and then promptly whisking her and her three daughters away from their apartment straight into the lap of luxury. Everyone seemed in consensus that this was the most exciting part but Adalae thought that there was one thing more exciting.
Rahim.
He was large and quiet and seemed to be in a near constant state of grumpiness but when she least expected it he would be there with a kind word, a trinket or a lolly. A large portion of the time he ignored her, an even larger portion of the time he avoided her completely but it was the small acts of kindness in between that had Adalae latching onto him.
Unfortunately, being seven years apart, there was not a whole lot of opportunity for the two to really get to know one another. Rahim dedicated himself to his schooling and later his career and Adalae barely scraped by with passing grades. She was optimistic, however, that if she could just get through school then she would be home free.
She soon found out that “home free” actually meant “homeless” and with absolutely no desire to go to college and no real job prospects she fell back on her only option (short of couch surfing at her mother’s).
She packed her bags and she went to Rahim’s shop, begging him to take pity on her.

Personality Description:
- Loyal but misguided
- When Adalae is your best friend, she’s your best friend. Whether or not you want her around, if she’s decided that she likes you then she’ll always have your back. She is the friend that throws you the biggest bestest birthday party with all the bells and whistles. The theme is her favorite, the color scheme is her favorite, the cake is her favorite flavor and even all the gifts are things she loves but it’s all for you.
- Passionate in all things
- Adalae never does anything by half measures. This can work well in your favor when you’re on her good side but quick to love is also quick to hate, quick to laugh is quick to anger. Luckily she also happens to be a little oblivious so won’t always catch on to subtle jibes. She will have a new hobby that she is passionate about every week (but never reading because that’s for squares) but she’ll never be more passionate about anything than she is about herself.
- Over Confident
- Adalae is confident, she is the most confident. There is nothing that she can’t handle on her own, even when she can’t handle something on her own. She may often find herself in need of a helping hand but you will rarely see her asking for one because she’s confident that she’ll never need help. Besides being confident in her abilities she is also confident about her appearance. You don’t have to tell Adalae she looks good, she knows and if you tell her she doesn’t look good then you’re just jealous of how good she looks.
- Dedicated to a fault
- Adalae is that person that’s cooking dinner and the roux is scalded but she committed to cooking this dinner and she won’t let something as trivial as burned sauce get in her way. She is crocheting a sweater and she lost count fifty rows ago and it’s turning into a misshapen lump but she is determined to finish it anyway. When she puts her mind to something she will commit fully to her task, even when it’s turning out disastrously. She also takes pride in all her work, poor or otherwise.
- Extroverted enough for everyone
- Not feeling up to talking today? Don’t worry, Adalae won’t notice or care. If anyone is a master of one-sided conversations it’s Adalae. She won’t even care about or take notice of every hint you throw at her that you just want to be left alone. You don’t even have to laugh at her jokes, she laughs at them enough for everyone.
- Obnoxiously Optimistic
- Adalae is always fond of demanding that people look on the bright side. Her favorite starting point being, “On the bright side, you still have me.” She is optimistic to the point of being obnoxious but there is something endearing about how hard she tries to cheer her friends up when they’re down.
