She'd collapse onto the grass, as the training took its toll. She'd been pushing herself harder and harder lately, is if she had something to prove. She'd close her eyes, feeling the sun on her face and the grass underneath her.

It was then that she'd hear someone speak. "Huh?" she'd open one of her eyes, then the other and then would slowly sit up with a groan. "Uh...hey?" it was girl, one he didn't know.

"Uh...what's up?" she'd ask, brushing a bit hair from her left eye, she'd recently got a new haircut. @Boop

It was a nice day for a run, cool but warm enough that Koralia still had a sheen of sweat even though she was only wearing a black sports bra and jogging pants. She hadn't been on the island long enough to recognize anyone or do much more than register at the school. In fact she was still bruised up from her car accident.

Koralia was pretty tired, but she perked up when she got closer to the girl lying on the grass. Telling herself she was only being properly concerned, she jogged over, bending a bit to get a closer look.

"Hey um are you okay? Or am I interrupting your sunbathing?"

"I'm fine.....just training is all," she'd explain, flinching a bit as she moved just right to make an ache start up. "Nothing I cant deal with," she'd say with a tiny chuckle. "Though....I guess it'd been a while."

Xera would slowly stand, brushing since grass off herself. "Uh...I'm Xera," she'd say, offering her hand. "You a student?" she'd ask, "don't think I've seen you around." Though it was a big school on a big island.

"Were you on a run?" she'd ask, her eyes instinctively looking her over. "Sorry that was a dumb question," she'd say, chuckling a bit.

"Training?" Koralia bit her bottom lip when the other girl moved, then tried to distract herself by guessing what kind of training involved lying on the grass. "Sit-ups? It does take a while to get back into it if you've stopped for awhile. "

Whatever the training was, Koralia thought Xera certainly didn't look out of shape. Though she wasn't about to admit that to a stranger. Instead she smiled and shook the offered hand. "Koralia. I just started the college here. I'm new. Are you a student too?"

Koralia couldn't help but grin back at the laugh. "It's fine. Yeah, I like running. Though I guess I wouldn't do as well here against all the magic people and robots or whatever."

She'd chuckle. "Well.....weapons training, plus yeah, some situps," she still had to do the basics. "It was time for me to catch up on it all, gotta stop being lazy," she'd say jokingly with a grin.

"It's good to meet you Koralia," she'd say with a smile. "I am yeah, I'm a senior in high school," which meant her new acquaintance was probably a little older. "The school is cool, lots to do there, you'll like it."

"Just can't compare yourself to them, y'know?" she'd say. "Like, you're you, so just be a good you....if that makes sense," she'd say with a small laugh. "Like I definitely don't really compare to the dragons and all that, so I do get what you mean."

"Weapons training? That sounds like something you'd want a partner for or at least a practice dummy." Koralia looked around again to see if she'd missed something like that while she was running. She quietly laughed at Xera's joke, "I guess I've been lazy too. I've never even run through this park before. How about you, have you lived here long? "

Koralia wasn't put off by Xera still being in high school. She was pretty sure the other girl was around her age anyway, since Koralia's birthday made her one of the youngest in her age group. She shrugged at the school comment, "Maybe. I'm not much for clubs since volunteering takes up a lot of my time usually. But I haven't really settled in yet. "

With a little sigh she said, "Yeah, I know it's no comparison, but I'd hoped to get back in to cross country. It's a bit of a change." Then Koralia smirked, "Are you sure you're not a dragon? Maybe you're just pretending to not compare and then bam you'll show off your wings and scales and outfly me."

"I rented a temporary magic one, it sorta vanished once my rent time was up," she'd chuckle. "I've lived here for three years now, the island is....interesting, you'll like it, always full of surprises," she'd say with a smile.

"Volunteering?" she'd tilt her head, "Volunteering where?" Could be anything here, soup kitchens, hospital stuff. "Either way, I'm sure you can find something, they're all pretty flexible schedule wise."

She'd giggle. "I wish, I'm human...magical, but still human," she'd grin. "I summon weapons and all that, so I guess you can call me fighty," she'd shrug, flinching a tiny bit and rubbing the spot between her shoulder and neck. "Cross country?" she'd ask, "is that a sport?"
