Octain sat in his office. Looking at the clock. It was almost time for school to be out by the time he was worrying too much over his girlfriend and love. He looked at his pocket watch. It was 2:30 and his last class for the day had been out for an hour. It wasn't like Genesis to be late or not show up to any classes. Then he recalled. Walking to school with his daughter. The... First...

The first snow fall had started early this year on Manta Carlos. He gritted his teeth as he stopped marking. He could come back to it at anytime. He grabbed his cloak and spun it in the air. Tossing it up as it landed and latched to his body. his mask on his face as he stared at the door. He... Didn't truly know where Genesis' house was. He had gathered it was somewhere in the forest.

He had prayed she was okay. So he gathered up as much intel as he could from the office. Hearing only rumors. his eyes opened as half way through he realized... Her place.. Was by where they first met. By the waterfall and pond they had met.

Octain gathered his things. His spellbook, some food he and Lexi had made for her for lunch. It was still warm and cold for the turkey sandwich that they had made and the salad. Moving with haste to where he thought she was. The cloak kept him warm. He recalled last summer. Chills running down his spin as he moved. Feeling with out the cloak. He would be in the same situation. He had made his way through sleeping trees and bramble. The winter called upon their hibernation. He could hear their snores as he smiled.

Eventually.. He moved some branches out the way...

His eyes opened as he saw a building.....

Genesis' house...

Where she lived...

"My star.. I found you.."

He took a minute to look at it all, before moving to knocking on the door.

It was that time of year again.

Her mind relapsed over the exact day in which Genesis departed from her future love Octain. How she left without so much a trace or farewell. All because of her fear of his reaction. Would he be disgusted? Felt betrayed? Would he ever speak to her again?

Of course, she vanished before she could test those fears out. Because, simply put, running away was just about the only thing she knew how to do. She couldn't are facing his reaction herself. Genesis knew that the first snowfall was her body's cue to deform. And already, such was the case.

The era of Capricorn coursed through her veins as a frail hand reached out to gently stroke the muzzle of a nearby white rabbit. There were a few more looking up to her from the floor beside her bed. A sigh came from her thin lips. If there was one good thing about this time of year, it was the fact that she was certain to find a friend within the local fauna.

One of the few things she could rely on.

A hand stifled over her mouth as she coughed. Just as she did, she heard a knock at her door.

Octain.

In a frenzy, she turned to a stag that was standing beside her bed. He looked at her as if he could understand, and due to her powers, he could.

"P-please open the door. I will be down in a few moments."

The deer moved to prance downstairs as if hypnotized by Genesis' command. he trotted to the door. Nudging it open to allow snowflakes to dance in. The smell of frost intermingling with the scent of the oak her house consisted of. It stood there, staring up at the masked man. Before leaning into his hand as if to assure him that his beloved would be here soon.

Octain hear something come to the door and open it. It was a stag.. There were animals.. All over the house. He blinked a few times and looked around. The house was vast. Made entirely of wood. Torches for the. Lanterns. He blinked a few times as the stag reassured him. Octain dropped to his knees as he could feel some for the woodland creatures gathering around him.

Questioning him almost. He reached his hand out for a few of them. To sniff Octain to show he was no threat. Though some of them didn't take.

He was curious on what was wrong.

It was his mask.

Octain took off his mask and placed it on a table. Looking around as his Orange eyes turned back into his birth hazel. The animals still stricken started to open up. standing up as he moved around the main floor of the house. Finding different areas of the house on his own.

Almost looking for his love.

Though the stag prevented him from going upstairs. Or even downstairs. He obeyed the will of his girlfriend.

He sighed as he touched his face. Taking off his gloves and his cloak and placed it on a coat rack.

"My star? This is a beautiful abode you have." He spoke lightly. Knowing she could hear him.

The stag waited, as if to stall for his elven companion. It grunted softly as if to thank him for his patience. The other animals scattered about approached him, as several rabbits gathered by his feet. As if to marvel the man, so different in aura than their temporary master. While she carried an air of fragility, he carried an air of power. But he knew how much this strange cloaked man meant to her. So even he knew that this encounter was crucial. He would have hated to see his master lose her mate.
Footsteps approached the stairs.

The rabbits looked up. Their tiny pink noses sniffling.

"Orais...? M-My dear... It is so nice to see you..."

Here went nothing.

Genesis approached the middle of the stairs. The pelt of a grizzly bear dragged against the ground, its maw shrouding Genesis' face. She stood in the middle of the staircase. Looking down at Octain. Her voice croaked out. Sounding like dried branches scraping against glass.

"But you should not have come here..."

Her hands lifted. Pale, with her fingertips a jet black. Her sharp nails traced along the edge of the hoodie. Each tiny movement causing a fraction of her to crack. A sigh touched her lips. The hood fell.

The elf he had fallen for physically was long gone. The livelihood in her aura was completely diminished, replaced by a foreboding hollowness. She looked to be almost three times her age just by the sunken-in nature of her face. Her cheeks were lined with cracks, as if she was porcelain met with a hammer. Her hair fell down her face in thin, whispy tendrils of snow. Let down for once for it to fall to her chest. Her eyes, once blue like the summer's ocean or gold like falling leaves, were a hazy grey. No pupils, just that milky color glazed over by what seemed to be frost. A pale blue touched her thin lips as she spoke once more. The look on her deformed face almost begging for forgiveness.

"I... Orais..."

Octain showed nothing but care to the woodland creatures that lined Genesis' house. Aura of Power was meant to protect those who live. Creatures like these. Those who cannot defend themselves as He took the time to show he was no threat. Attempting to pet them as he eventually heard foot steps. The Stags stall for time worked and Octain was non the wiser.

He noticed the rabbits were looking at the stairs. He raised his eyebrow. His maskless face lifted from the tiny creatures as he slowly stood from his original kneeling.

"Genesis.. My darling it's always a pleasure to see you." He spoke lightly.

Something seemed off. Even with the first snow fall was fast approaching. The Arcane foretold Octain about the winter. This gave him a chance. To show something but Genesis voice sounded shattered. Like leaf less branches on the window. Scraping. Scratching. yet he found solace in the fact that she was okay. That she still sounded like herself.

"My love..? Why would I have not come?"

His eyes widened for a moment in time. Looking over her features. Each contour was different. He slowly began to take his strides to the bottom of the stairs. The bear pelt was gone. Releasing the elf that was under it. He still marveled at her beauty. Star struck as he whispered softly.

"Genesis.. You still look as lovely as ever." He said. "I am going to walk up the stairs to meet you." He said. Taking one step at a time. Even if she said no. Octain wasn't going to let this get in the way of his 'hello' kiss. Once he had reached his hand on for her pale hands as he gently grasped it in his. Making sure not to hurt her.

His clear eyes looked into hers for a moment. Clouded. Almost having doubts from what he could tell. Even with out pupils he knew that he needed to do something. He looked over the cracks upon her face. Even if she looked different. Octain knew that Genesis was still in his heart. That's what meant the most.

His other hand slowly started to move her hair from her face as he leaned his head in to softly kiss her cheek. Even if it was light. It was to convey how he felt.

"You need not worry my love. You're winter, summer, spring and fall incarnate. All four of your appearances and shifts to them are you. You are my star. No matter what. None shall take that from you." he spoke softly. His hand moving from her hair to hold her other hand. Both hands taking extreme care of what they were doing. Not applying any pressure to injure or cause trouble. Just enough to show that he cared. "I shall not leave you."

He undid his tie a bit to give him some breathing room. He wasn't going to leave. He had noticed the cracks shift on her face. The coldness of her while he held her hands. This was what she was hiding. Octain had set upon a path that should be seen through. Even if it meant his death. She was frail and he careful. His eyes showed hope as he looked at the woodland critters and the stag.

"I see you have more friends than I Genesis." he said with a soft chuckle and a smile as he turned back to her. He was happy to be with you. "I had wanted to come by to check up on you. As well as to see if you require anything. Call me old fashioned I just wished to ensure you are going to be alright this winter. I had taken some time off to ensure I am able to tend to your needs should they arise."
