"Well...hmmm," Alice's brows lowered and she thought it out.

"Well, I control th'air with m'thoughts. If I completed th'formula in my head and made us fly, I could direct our paths through th'air. But since I do this by thinkin' 'bout it. and you can read my mind...I'm not sure...maybe you could direct your flight by altering my thoughts." Alice realized that that assumed that Alex could exercise control of another's mind.

"If I'm right, maybe we can both fly 'round as long as I keep the steps workin' in my head. It's just an idea though. If I'm not correct, we might end up swimming," she finished with a shrug. Taking the bus back to school was much safer, after all.

“Umm…” Alex said hesitating to comment on Alice’s plan. She had put a lot of thought into it; Alex had to admit, and she was sure Alice could pull of her end of it. Alex just wasn’t sure she had the refined control over her powers to pull off that. With one little mistake she could cause some serious brain damage for Alice, making her forget who she was, how to read, or make her forget how to breath. She didn’t want to chance it. But how would she explain that to Alice? Alex never liked admitting her weaknesses to other people, ego or maybe over compensation and all, but she felt she needed to explain why to Alice.

“I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that.” Alex finally said. “Messing with your mind like that can be dangerous. We can end up with much worse than taking a dip in the drink.”

"I see, I see," she said, realizing the relief of not having to risk a swim or the utter destruction of her mind for that matter. Alice began to lower herself to the rug, the food already beginning to tire her, though she looked to Alex with her playful smirk. "Someday we'll have to play in the sky."

Alice laid back down. She tilted her head back and rotated her shoulders, and with a breath, arched her back in a stretch. She breathed out, straightening her legs into another stretch that ended at her curling toes, some popping. With the stretch done, she eased back down into the rug and sand and closed her eyes slowly, closing on the glow of the sun through the canopy of the umbrella. Her eyes shut, the other senses found their say: the continual roll of the waves, the lumps of sand against her resting knuckles and back, the smell of beach, the slightly lingering taste of her food on the back of her tongue. She drew the deep breaths and found the quiet often hidden in the fog of ideas and desires and fantasy.

“I can’t wait.” Alex said with all the fake enthusiasm that she could muster. Her love for both her feet being planted squarely on the ground. But who knows. She had done things now with Alice that she never thought she would be able to do. Perhaps with Alice flying wouldn’t be so bad.

While looking over her shoulder she watched as Alice laid down and watched as she stretched her limbs and smiled. She couldn’t help it but found it reminded her of a cat stretching out on a bed to go to sleep, it seemed so very adorable to her. Doing the same Alex laying back Alex annoyingly tugged at her top, so much more trouble than it is worth. Then she rested tucked her hands behind her head and let out a content sigh she stretched her legs out as far as possible wiggling her bare toes as she did so. “Yeah that defiantly sounds nice.” She said glancing at Alice and smiling at her.
