It was an odd situation, but one he was ok with. They were peaceful, and he'd want them to at least be friends if not more. So, he had asked Fatima, his fellow horsemen to a party. He had been somewhat surprised that she had agreed to come, he didn't blamer her for being suspicious when he was around, he hadn't mentioned the ritual, the one where they killed his parents, how it had drove him half mad and made him decide to hunt the cult down, he didn't like the idea of making excuses to taking those lives.

They moved through the crowd, the music blaring, the lights above changing colors every few minutes, whichever rich student had thrown this had gone all out, drinks and food everywhere and at the center of the large room, a heated swimming pool with a hot tub beside it. A few people were already swimming. He smiled at Fatima and chuckled a bit, "looks fund."

Fatima's feelings towards the other horseman were complicated and confused, so much so that being near him was a decent distraction from her constant hunger. On the one hand, he had killed her entire family and now she was here in a strange place and she was an orphan. On the other hand that family had hurt her badly, more than she had ever even realised. And even just being here before they were killed had been eye-opening. Suddenly her aura was a fun thing and not a cause for fear. She could give in to all her urges with anyone she wanted without being forced to stay within the cult members. Suddenly - she didn't have to be one of the four horsemen who was going to end the world, and she could be just - a very hungry girl with powers.

She felt some sympathy for him too, knowing that he hadn't always known what he was and that his life had been turned upside down. Thinking back to the ritual that had been done on her when she got her other form, by people who were supposed to be family, she had a suspicion it had been very awful indeed. Not to mention, if she was so needy all the time, she couldn't imagine what needs a horseman of death might feel.

So even though they weren't exactly friends, they were kind of like bickering step-siblings who didn't quite get along but enjoyed teasing each other. And so she had accepted his invitation to the party. Besides Fatima just did not have the self-control to turn down an invitation from someone she didn't completely hate.

She grinned widely when they stepped in the door, basking in the rising hunger and excitement. Certainly not as intense as some of the parties she'd been to on this island, but enjoyable nonetheless. Her eyes were bright with her hunger, and she unconsciously licked her lips. Then she tilted her head at John, "So food first? Or should we go for a swim?"

Their relationship was strange, that much was certain, he thought maybe they could be siblings of sorts. He didn't know if their was any genetc connection between them, but they could surrogate siblings.

He thought for a sec, he was a bit hesitant to swim because of the four brands going up the right side of his chest, "uh.....either works for me."

"The water does look nice," he knew that it was inevitable that people would find out about it. "So how about we grab someone quick to eat and we can eat more after we swim." He knew she was Famine so he though it might be best is she got something to hold her over till after they swam.

((I'm going to assume you meant to say "Let's grab something to eat", not someone))

She glanced sideways at John's comment about eating twice. "You do realise, John, that I'm gonna be hungry all the time, whether I eat or not? Especially at a party. I mean, I do like free food, but none of my hungers will ever fade all the way. So - don't worry okay. I don't even technically need to eat all the time, I just want to." She liked the guy, but sometimes he could be a bit too - overprotective she guessed, or perhaps ashamed.

That said, she did want to eat. And was slightly anxious about going swimming with the guy. If he wasn't here, she'd probably just give in to the excitement and swim first, but she figured she'd accepted his invitation and probably shouldn't ditch him right away. So, "I actually do want food though..." She laughed a little. "Just relax a little. This is a party. Have fun!"

Then she looked at him again. She had to tease him, it was like her surrogate-sisterish duty to tease the other horseman. "Y'know - we're not going skinny dipping, right? ... Unless of course ... you want to?" Holding back giggles, she stuck her tongue out at him. Being the annoying little sister was fun!

He laughed at her, he had always wanted siblings, this wasn't how he had expected to get one, "sorry." He grabbed a small bag of chips and tossed them to her, "haven't been to a party in forever."

He chuckled again, "lets go then" he turned and headed toward the pool, he was nervous to say the least about the brands. He neares the edge of the pool and his eyes darted around a bit.

He was already wearing his shorts, so he just pulled his shirt off, any of the girl in the room would have liked what they could see. John stayed healthy, worked out a lot even though he didn't really need too, had a six pack and all that, problem was the four archaic symbols branded into him, going from his abdomen to his chest.

Fatima was actually a little self-conscious just taking her clothes off in front of a boy who was practically her brother. Even if she did have a swimsuit on. It showed off her legs, and she had very long legs. She was admittedly a little self-conscious anyways, always sure that most people were only drawn to her because of the way she made them feel. But she couldn't let him see that. So she quickly ate the chips and pulled off her dress in one smooth motion. At least taking off her clothes was easy enough that she didn't really have to think about it.

When John took off his shirt - Fatima admittedly did admire him a bit, he wasn't actually her brother after all, and she had eyes. She frowned when she saw the scars though. She wasn't completely shocked about the scars being there, (after all the cult had done to her just training, not even counting the ritual to get access to her other form, she'd have been surprised if they hadn't hurt him just as bad or worse,) she was just surprised that whatever the cult had done had actually left scars. Even loss of limbs hadn't left a mark on her. Though most people would probably consider her to have mental scars.

Her tact left her momentarily, not that tact was something Fatima had in large quantities to begin with, and she just blurted out, "John! What in the world did they do to you? Don't you regenerate or something?!"

The corner of his lip twitched, this is why he didn't swim, people saw the brands, saw the symbols used to activate his powers, "they....were to give me my powers....and they..." he stopped remembering where they were, now wasn't the time to talk about his parents, though one could see the pain on his face.

He sighed and turned, "no I don't really regenerate," the school said it was because his healing factor had to focus on his cancer and other illnesses.

He left hand went up and touched the top brand, by this time they had gained the attention of a lot of the party goers, starring, wondering what was going on. "We shouldn't talk here, we could go somewhere else."

After learning that John didn't really regenerate, Fatima was now surprised by his brands for a completely different reason than she had been. Her powers had been active from birth, but the ritual to unlock her other form had been downright torture. She supposed that the cult must've been easier on John since he said he had been technically human earlier, and it made sense that they wouldn't cut off the horseman's limbs if they were planning to use him and he couldn't regenerate.

The fact that the brands didn't seem severe worried Fatima. There was so much more the cult could've done to him that wouldn't have left any visible markings. She had had quite a lot done to her, but that involved her Famine powers, she couldn't even imagine what they'd do to the horseman of Death.

She was not exactly eager to go away with John and discuss this, but she did feel she owed it to him a little. She hadn't been involved in the cult part of the cult, but they were her family. Well - they were probably even on that matter. Fatima wanted to know why exactly he had done what he did. She was still a little uncomfortable with him and maybe knowing the horror he had gone through would help. It was kind of nice to feel like she was not alone in this being hurt by the cult business, even though that was a horrible way to go about it.
