"No, no worries, it was fine," Liliana told them gently when KirMir quietly explained, blushing prettily and apologizing in a way, for their hand kissing gesture. "Actually, no, not fine. It was, well, perfect actually," she confessed shyly, having found the whole thing so sweet and romantic. She had never been on the receiving end of such a romantic gesture before, and was still feeling a little giddy and flustered by it all.

Nodding when they told her they'd wait until she finished, Liliana flashed them a smile. She suddenly felt amazingly happy, and anxious too and with a sense of wanting to rush off and do everything as quickly as possible so she could return and spend more time with KirMir before the evening was over.

"Yes, I guess, I probably should put my mask back on," Liliana agreed, almost reluctantly. Although she knew that if she didn't she'd have to carry it around with her or she even might misplace it which she didn't want to do.

Placing the pink mask up against her face, Liliana turned around so that Mir could tie the ribbons of her mask for her. "Thank you," Liliana said, a smile on her face, when she felt Mir behind her.

"I'll be back as soon as I can. Half an hour, maybe forty, forty-five minutes," she said doing a quick mental calculation of everything she had to do before she took off quickly to find everyone else who had to stay and help.

KirMir were looking forward to when Lily returned from her duties as well. They didn't have much of a plan beyond being with her a little longer, and making sure she got wherever she was going afterwards safely, but that was still enough to be excited about. Besides, plans changed often- the ball tonight had been a good example of that so far.

They would have happily held on to Lily's mask while she did her thing but they were under the impression that the masks were part of the image for the ball. Better to help her put it on so she could continue to set an example.

Mir moved behind Lily so they could help with the mask. They ran their hands down Lily's hair to help smooth it out and keep it in place so the ribbons wouldn't get tangled. Just like she had done for them. Carefully, they gently tied the ribbons without letting them pull on her hair too much. It seemed like they were being extra careful and soft with their hands whenever they were making any contact with her. Mostly because they were in fact making a special effort to do so.

"You're welcome," Mir said softly as they adjusted the woman's hair one last time so that it fell across the back of her neck properly. Do what you need to do, we will be available when you finish." And they would be, but until then they were definitely going to eat more of the food if that was still an option. Their caloric requirements were more than a human and they were still hungry enough to eat a fair bit more.

They watched as she quickly skipped off to handle things and they were once more reminded of the fact that she was balancing so many plates. They'd need to be careful not to hinder her ability to focus on those responsibilities.

After they carefully put their own two masks back on they nodded at Two Stripes to let her know she could step back over. She grinned as she rejoined them and they all headed towards the food table. She told them how happy she was for them that they were enjoying the ball so much. Then, she quietly gave them her blessing to use part of her powers themselves. A pocket dimension for storage. With that she could hand over the things she had been storing for them during the dance- and she wouldn't feel like she needed to follow them around for the rest of the night in case they needed her. KirMir quickly stowed the items in their pocket dimension, taking extra care with the box of pastries Lily had given them.

Together they went back to the tables and KirMir made another plate for them to share as they waited. A random assortment of the things they had enjoyed earlier and they munched away as Two Stripes offered some advice about how to, well, be romantic basically. Lily still hadn't finished by the time they were done eating so KirMir stood back up and bid Two Stripes a good night before starting to slowly dance with their two bodies as a pair. They were perfectly in sync and it was beautiful to watch. Two Stripes smiled and slipped out into the night to let them enjoy themselves.

It was closer to an hour later when Liliana returned. She had had to hunt down a few of the volunteers as well as a few of the staff that had originally been in charge of setting up the masked ball. When everything was sorted, the important things done and put away, as well as an agreement to return tomorrow, in the morning late, around eleven, to clean up, she finally made her way back to KirMir.

As Lily crossed the ballroom, she spotted the two of them dancing together, the dance floor was almost empty now. Watching them, Liliana just smiled at how wonderfully in sync they were. No wonder they had been such great leads when they had danced with her.

"I am finally done for the evening," she stated with a grin, exhausted but happy at the same time. The event had been wonderful, better than last year in her opinion.

"Shall we go, or did you need to do anything first?" she asked them politely, not really wanting the evening to end, but knowing it was getting late and they couldn't stay there, in the ballroom, too much longer. Besides, they probably wanted to get home soon, she surmised, still slightly amazed they had even chosen to stay behind and wait for her.

"Do you live very far from here?" she asked them, glancing first at Kir, then Mir, knowing that in a way she was lucky, Liliana only had to cross the school to her dorm... which wasn't as close as one might suppose.

Lily had taken a little while longer than expected. But that was ok. They had caught glimpses of her pink outfit as she moved back and forth chasing various people down. Apparently not everyone was quite as dedicated as she was.

They finished their dance as they noticed Lily approaching and then smiled back at her. Despite whatever rushing around she had just done she appeared to be glad to see them and that was a good feeling. She made them happy just by being there. As tired as they were, it had been- and still was, an excellent night.

"Unfortunately our apartment is in the city so we do have some traveling to do but we do not mind. We would very much like to walk you back to your dorm if you will allow us," Mir admitted as they thought about how they would be walking Lily across campus and then turning around to head back to the city. Even with the shortcut path between the campus and the city it was a hike. Perhaps declining Two Stripes' offer of portals was a mistake after all. But they hadn't wanted to miss out on a little more time with Lily.

"To allow us a little more time with you tonight and also to ensure you arrive safely," Kir added as they looked around at the noticeably thinned out crowd. There would probably still be people coming and going on the pathways but not as many as there had been earlier.

Kir offered his arm for Lily to take hold of as they began leading once more. This time walking out of the ballroom rather than dancing. Mir moved around so that she was walking on the other side of Lily. In a sort of natural flanking arrangement. At least while there was space for them to walk three abreast. They'd adjust as needed if that became an issue. With their free hands they both removed their masks again, slipping them into the pocket dimension for safekeeping. The cool night air felt good on their uncovered faces as they walked with Lily.

While walking Kir turned his head slightly to smile at Lily again. "We think the night turned out excellent. Both the event in general and meeting you specifically."

the missing post from Zora that was lost from the site rollback is in this quote:

"That would be really great actually," Liliana admitted when they offered to walk her back to her dorm room. She hadn't really expected them to do that, she had just hoped to say goodbye and maybe spend a little while more with them before they had to go home.

Taking Kir's arm in hers. Liliana unconsciously hugged it comfortably to her as she walked with them just enjoying the night air as they headed in direction of her dorm room. As they walked, she noticed each body remove their masks and nodded to herself. Reaching up with her free hand, Lilina pulled her mask off, relishing the feeling of the fresher air on her face.

"It really has been a great evening," Liliana agreed quietly as she looked up at the night sky for a moment and then at Kir and then Mir. Seeing Mir flanking them a little, Liliana put out her hand to the young woman and wiggled her fingers to encourage her to take her hand.

"I had a great time tonight. Thank you for everything," she started, "You have been amazing," she stated looking at Mir, "And great dance partners," she told Kir glancing at him, realising then that it should have been odd moving between the bodies, but she found it wasn't. "I was hoping that maybe you might, maybe, be free at some point tomorrow?" she asked.

It was subtle but as Lily hugged Kir's arm to her he leaned into it a little bit, keeping Lily fairly close as they walked. It felt like the appropriate thing to do. It was a peaceful night out, with the soft glow of the campus' nighttime lighting from around them and the crisp twinkle of the stars above.

It was soothingly quiet outside compared to the constant movement, noise and bustle of the ballroom. A welcome change that allowed KirMir to have fewer things to focus on aside from Lily. And there they were again, unmasked and enjoying each other's company.

"We think you have been amazing too. We would dance with you any time you wish Lily," Kir began as he smiled at her with that same small but happy smile they seemed to keep showing when they interacted with Lily.

Mir had been more or less keeping an eye more on their surroundings, using their recently acquired ability to see into the darker areas that were less well lit. They couldn't really help but keep an eye out. They just hoped it wasn't too noticeable or off-putting for Lily. "It is one of our favorite hobbies and we have enjoyed it even more sharing it with you," finished Mir as she happily came closer and took Lily's hand, entwining her fingers with Lily's.

The small group was walking relatively slow as they were a little more focused on enjoying the company than getting to the destination. Not to mention that on some level sore feet were sore feet whether you had two bodies or not. But the campus was only so large and both KirMir knew they would eventually reach the dorms and have to bid Lily a good night.

Were they free tomorrow? A quick run through of their various obligations gave them a little bit of a frown. "We might have an hour or two between classes and work. Otherwise it would have to be after we get off work in the evening. We only have a morning lab class on friday so that or saturday might be better if you want more time," Mir relayed. Surely Lily was busy though. Even if it was only a few hours they could work something out.

"Let's see, Friday, I think I have a student council meeting for the afternoon, I think Saturday might be best honestly. Maybe just before noon, we can always get lunch here, or somewhere, and decide what to do afterwards," Liliana said thoughtfully when they suggested another day since the next day wouldn't afford them much time together, and Liliana didn't want to inconvenience them if they had to work.

"Well, It seems like this is where I must leave you," she told them rather regretfully as they finally approached the building where her dorm was located. It had been an amazing and very unexpected evening, and as much as she'd have loved to continue talking and just enjoying KirMir's company, she knew it was late and they still had to get home.

Slowing her pace, Liliana disengaged herself from Kir, but held Mir's hand a moment longer, giving it a gentle squeeze before she finally let go. "I need to go," she explained to them both with a slightly disappointed look on her face. She just really did not want to go yet, but knew she had to get up early and help out later with the clean up.

"I will see you later then?" she asked hopefully as she stepped forward and gave each body a light peck good night on the cheek.

Ah, scheduling. The most romantic of conversations to be having at the end of a very nice night of dancing. But it was necessary. Both of them had a list of responsibilities to work around and KirMir did not feel bad having to indicate that picking the next day might seriously limit the time they could offer. Just as they did not get upset that Lily had her own plans that made Friday less attractive of an option.

Saturday though, that was an excellent option. No school and they were off from work on that day, allowing them the freedom to spend as much time as they wanted. "Then it is decided. We will plan for Saturday before noon. Eating lunch here in the city would be fine or we could visit the space station and have lunch up there. No need to decide specifics now though," Mir declared as they recalled the talk of possibly showing Lily around the station earlier. Unless that would make her uneasy it could be a very enjoyable option. She had said herself she hadn't often visited the station.

Kir looked up at the building as they approached it. Even with walking slowly it hadn't seemed like much time between leaving the ballroom and already they were at her destination. A quiet sigh escaped his mouth. Rationally though they all knew the night was at it's end and sleep was both necessary and in their near futures. "Yes, we appear to have arrived at your dorm. We know you need to sleep. As do we," Kir replied as Lily released her hold on his arm.

And then both bodies blushed a tiny bit as she squeezed Mir's hand and the blushing only became more apparent as she kissed them on the cheeks. "We will see you later. Rest well beautiful Lily," came the answer from Kir. They'd surely see her around even if they weren't in the same school. And if they didn't, well, they just have to make it happen.

"Wait, you should have our phone number," Mir quickly added and produced her phone to share the number. The setup was kind of a unique one that they'd had to have specially arranged. Both of their phones had the same number but they were capable of calling or answering calls to that number independently. Much like the phone system that a small business would use with multiple extensions, just using two cell phones.

There was not much left to do after that though. KirMir wanted to make sure she got to her dorm and then they could head off through the night back to their apartment. They were quite excited for Saturday, whatever they were going to end up doing.
