Seagull (Formerly), Human (?)

Appearance Description:

Memoca stands at a fair height of 5'4", with long, layered white and yellow hair that falls below her lower back. She wears a sailor top with sleeves that were fashioned to vaguely resemble a seagull's wings, complete with the black coloration at the tips. Her hands aren't usually seen, but they are soft and slender. She also wears a dark pleated skirt, tan stockings, black shoes, and to complete her attire, a sailor cap with a golden anchor emblem. Her eyes are golden with a hint of orange.

Personality Description: Memoca is energetic and outspoken. She often comes off as someone who wants to pick fights with anyone she doesn't like, but it is mostly because she doesn't know any better. That being said, she has little experience interacting with people, so she acts on instinct, though she is quick to learn new tricks.

Memoca is very territorial, and protective of her friends. Once she feels like they're threatened, she won't hesitate to come to their aid. Whether they appreciate it or not.

Generally, she has a childish mindset, but aside from that, she is a fast learner and always ready to learn new things.

Likes: Food, new things, friends, cute things
Dislikes: Friends getting hurt, being threatened, unwelcomed guests, pain
Weaknesses: Gullible, easily distracted, sometimes says things without thinking about it, can be clingy at times
Strengths: Always willing to learn (unless she's bored), loyal, friendly, energetic, opportunistic
Fears: Loud noises
Habits/Hobbies: Sleeping, learning new things, flying
Skills / Talents: Fast learner

Powers: Although she is charged with a hefty amount of magic from the accident that turned her into a humanized seagull, she has yet to tap into them fully.

Flight — Exactly what it says, she can fly like a bird even without flapping her 'wings', though she hasn't mastered it yet. Crashes are frequent.

Animal Communication — She can communicate with animals, to put it simply. (Though if it were birds, she'd likely be yelling at them to stay away from her nest.)

Biography: Memoca was a simple seagull who just learned how to fly. She followed her nursery flock over the woods, but a strong gust of wind plus her inexperience with flight caused her to crash into a tree. Dazed and somewhat hungry, she searched around for anything to eat, confident that she could find her way back home after she filled her stomach.

After a few minutes of searching, she was attracted by a flash of light. She followed it and she was led to a clearing. And wouldn't you know it, a fresh fish was just waiting for her on a tree stump. It seemed like a simple thing, so of course she went for it, but another bird had eyes on the prize. She knew she had to get to the fish first, so she swooped in just as the other bird landed.

But as she got the fish, she was struck by a bolt of magic. A bolt that was meant for the other bird. There was a yelp of surprise, both from the other bird and from a person who she just noticed as she laid on the ground, twitching. There was a great pain all over her body, and her vision faded. That was the last time she was really ever herself.

When she woke up, she was curled in a hastily-built nest inside a small shack. The first thing she noticed was that she felt bigger, and a quick look at herself revealed that she was human. A fully grown, naked, female human. It was like being reborn. She didn't even know how to stand up. Her legs were strong, but she felt so heavy, she had difficulty adjusting her balance. It took a lot of tries before she settled on crawling out of the shack, which luckily for her didn't come equipped with a lock or a doorknob.

Outside, she was helped by a man in a dark coat. He lead her back inside the shack and helped her into some clothes that she missed. Without her feathers, she had been feeling awfully cold, so her new attire was warmly welcomed. For some reason, she felt like she met the man before, but she couldn't ask. She may have understood human language, but she could never speak it because a seagull's vocal chords wasn't capable of replicating human speech. She wanted to try it then, but all she could manage were hums.

The man explained her situation. He revealed that she interrupted a binding spell, specifically one that turned animals into a familiar. Because she was only present for the last part, she transformed, but wasn't bound to a master. He left shortly after leaving her some food.

The spell's effect didn't just give her a new body, but an expanded mind as well. She became capable of learning at an accelerated rate (or at least, compared to seagulls). This was shown when she said 'Thank you' to the strange man after only hearing him say it once. She felt strangely satisfied about it too.

Additional Information: She named herself Memoca after someone commented on how she looked just like a game character.
