25th of October. Sleepy Hollow had a notice posted of it closing early for the day — a surprise to most its patrons because as far as they all knew, Sleepy Hollow had never closed at all.

But the cafe was not closed-- in fact, faint music can be heard from outside. People who would pay close attention would be aware that the cafe was simply reserved for a private event. A few black envelopes were given around certain people days before. Invitations to a private gathering for selected guests.

The host of the event, the Dullahan-- it might be proper to say she "looked" pleased at as she watched her guests. Most had attended but very few seemed to have decided they would not show. A shame, she thought. Aisling cut through the crowd to one side of the room where a little stage was arranged for a live band--the entire cafe was rearranged only for the event.

The volume of her dress was less compared to most days; her ever present veil was out of sight (everyone can clearly see her that she was without her head) and her Lolita dress was replaced with a sleek black evening gown and a raven feather shawl. Her pendant was tied behind her hand where she held a wine glass (for some reason), glowing as she began to speak.

"Good evening to all! Ladies, gentlemen: my esteemed guests, I thank you all for coming tonight. I would like to welcome you all to the Masquerade of the Dead.

"I'm certain most of you are... curious as to why I gathered you all tonight. Near is All Hallows' Eve and I believe it's only right that we celebrate this season of the Dead. Only for us, of course: Reapers, Death Incarnates, Harbingers, Necromancers and... the Undead. We are those closest to Death itself and this celebration is rightfully for each and every one of us."

Aisling raises her glass, "Tonight is ours!"

DeathCon is a gathering for grim reapers, death incarnates, harbingers, necromancers and pretty much anyone else who has something to do with death... reanimated corpses included. The event is invite-only and yeah there are "security" outside checking whether or not the ones walking in are invitees. Some more details here

He supposed it was probably both. Having him there meant that every student was going to get back to their dorms safely, without having to worry about individual chaperones.

If the party had happened in the daylight, he would have looked out of place - a blue collared shirt, black slacks, and a tie. He was tiny and somewhat skeletal looking normally, but during the night there could be no question he belonged there. He was slightly transparent, the edges of his figure seeming to be slightly smudged. Less a person and more an impression of a person, left behind after a violent death. He wasn't even solid the majority of the time, and people could walk right through him without issue. Most didn't - people tended to try and walk around him, even though he wasn't all there.

He wasn't entirely keen on being around necromancers. After all, necromancers had a reputation for controlling the dead, and Makara was not terribly keen on anyone trying to control him. He had no glass to raise at the host's speech, although he found himself wondering if she was dead as well. She did appear to be missing her head, and he was far from familiar with Irish legends.

Duke Mikhainon

Mikhainon was invited as a guest of honor.

Which was charming in itself, really. Ms. Beirne was certainly a fan of his work, and as suspicious as it was for someone to keep her ears so close to the ground she heard all the rumors, he didn't really see any harm in indulging her. Besides, Mikhainon adored fae and saw them as kindred spirits. Dullahans in particular were certainly interesting.

He came in like the classy, well-dressed gentleman that he was, dressed to the nines with a smile that was nothing short of dazzling. He wore a black, double breasted suit and a black tie, his dress shirt a fanciful depiction of the cosmos. His aura washed into the room like a powerful wave.

He walked up to the host and gave a slight bow, and a smile that was just for her. "Lovely party, my dear. Thank you for inviting me."

Spartak had arrived to this deathcon party with his son Astor, he had been to a few events like this in the past but never with family, he didnt want his kids to see him get drunk. He decided that he wouldnt have anything to drink today...

He was wearing a loosely fitting suit, and he still looked gigantic. His son had went off to speak to teacher looking person, Spartak decided to get himself some snacks, he wanted some death cake.

As Aisling stepped down to join the crowd again, her attentant in tow, she was approached by her token guest of honor, Mikhainon. Ever so charming was he, she thought to herself, and she was very delighted to see him. "Why, thank you, Mr. Baltimore, I'm quite flattered," she replied to him, bobbing a curtsy in response. "So glad you were able to make time for us."

Aisling turned towards Scaith and dismissed him for a time. It wasn't like she needed him on the clock at the time like this. She turned back her attention to her favorite guest, "There are quite interesting guests we have tonight; has anyone caught your interest yet?"

Makara was not really expecting anyone to approach him. He wasn't terribly accessible in the average crowd, what with being dead and all, but it had been a pretty silly assumption, all things considered. After all, this was a party specifically for dead people. No one here was going to be bothered by talking to a ghost.

He was lucky enough to recognize the student who was approaching him, even if they hadn't come with Makara himself to the party. Mostly he remembered Astor's name because he'd thought Astor would be a girl.

He pressed his hands together in front of his chest, giving Astor a bow - his usualsampeah. "It's good to see you as well, Astor." He didn't remember Astor's family name, unfortunately. "I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few club members made it here, even if it's mostly adults. We share similar powers, after all." The whole event was death related, as was the club. "I'm helping escort students back to the school afterwards."
